The most overrated band IMO is Pearl Jam. I can't stand anything they've ever done.

made a thread like this once trust me i put a lot of "overrated" artist imo that had the fan boys crying.
NSYNC imo sure they had vocalized talents, but they were just a chick icon at the time, nothing more.

No. Because I dont think about the Beatles unless someone mentions them. That's how low they rank on Pinion's list. I think maybe LedZepplin hangs around with the Beatles in my mind. I just dont ever EVER think about them unless it comes up.

The only reason I thought of them is because Falls Mom likes them so they couldn't be good.

The Beatles pioneered many of the themes and motifs that permeate modern music.
They don't sound like much from today's perspective, because nowadays almost everybody uses those themes, but back then it was huge.

they are on xm satelite radio. i think channel 20....like at least 30 times a day. it gets annoying. any local hit radio station plays them...it's not like i know their songs. my ears just bleed when i hear them

I have XM as well and I dont listen to stations that play them I guess... My advice is listen to a different station..

i use my ipod in my car. but when im in my dorm room listening to the radio, they just come on and it pi**es me off.

They don't sound like much from today's perspective, because nowadays almost everybody uses those themes, but back then it was huge.
The Beatles didn't start half the stuff they get credited for. Them, The Stones, and a bunch of others were in love with Buddy Holly and everything he did, but he died too young in 1959 when he was 22.
It was Buddy Holly's trips to England and Australia that led the way to world tours. Buddy was probably the first to maintain artistic control over his music, too. If it weren't for his greedy manager stealing money from The Crickets, Buddy probably never would've gone on the tour (He needed the money) that took his life and he could've followed through on his plans to open a music studio for other aspiring artists.
It was Buddy Holly in England that inspired The Beatles and The Stones to make music and one day come to America. The Beatles even said about the first 40 songs they ever wrote were inspired by Buddy and I was watching Keith Richards talk last night about how much of an inspiration Buddy Holly was to them.
I'm not a fan of the drug-induced Beatles, but the early stuff was pretty good. I've got a whole slew of Stones songs on an external hard drive, but very few of them have ever appealed to me. Maybe I'll go back and listen to their early songs and see what I think. I'll at least give them another shot because in theory they shouldn't be downright horrible if they were trying to copy their idol (Buddy Holly).

The fact that Kid Rock has sold a minimum of one CD in his "career" as an "artist" earns him the title of overrated. Any acknowledgment that his "music" "contributes" "positively" to a diversified and intelligent music market by purchasing it or even referring to him by name means he is being given more credit than he has ever deserved.
