new braunfels lost to reagan. the solid 4 to end the season were supposed to be smithson valley, madison, roosevelt, and new braunfels. new braunfels was only supposed to lose to the top 3 teams in the playoff hunt, then there are teams your supposed to beat. now that reagan beat new braunfels, which was pretty lopsided, what else is there left for new braunfels to enter that 4th and final playoff spot? reagan is supposed to lose to madison on the last week. these next two games reagan is supposed to face cheap shot teams for them. so no matter what, even though new braunfels has 3 last games to play, they lost to reagan, which makes them inelegible to play and fight for that 4th playoff spot. they should have beaten reagan. they had there chance but blew it. unless if reagan loses in three weeks to tie new braunfels for 4th. reagan looks to be sneaking into the final playoff spot.

yeah, it's a little depressing :(

I'll still swear up and down that the team was a great, talented team, but we couldn't make it out of the big games. I look forward to seeing the team have another chance to shoot for a playoff spot in the big 5A :D

If someone said that New Braunfels wasn't a good team this year I'd call them a liar to their face. They had all the potential in the world. There's no accounting for how it turned out. Just some hard fought losses. Still a great team.

I totally agree. Just 1st year growing pains. 26-5A crushes the best of teams. NB falls under the title, Great Team in a tough, tough, district. ;)

Don't sleep on Reagan. Or Madison, Or SV, or TR this year. Now, I'll get killed for this..... but here it goes....... I think that most of the state has missed on these teams this year in 26-5A. We may have had "flashier" teams in the past, but this years top teams are scary good. Defenses across the district are hard hitting and fast. Offenses are battle tested against these brutal defenders of 26-5A. Don't be surprised if 26-5A makes a LOT of noise in the playoffs. I have a really good feeling......... really good.

I agree with what your saying about Dist. 26. Pville will have to play one of your teams in the first round and that is worrisome to this writer. All 4 of your playoff entries will be very good. Just don't beat up on each other too much.:)

To think that NB was a lock for the top four in that district is ridiculous. Especially if you discounted Reagan after their last two years and what they had returning. Any team coming up from 4a in going to have to fight uphill for a couple years, in most cases. Not saying that the Unicorns aren't a good team, but they just came up short in their must-win games.

wouldn't Regan have the tie-breaker over NB anyway (since they beat the Unis)?

I agree with Wizenbud...I have been able to sit on the outside and look in this year and be objective...here is what I see...both Madison and SV have shown their teams to the state...both are top quality teams...both with one loss, Madison to SV(great Defense), SV to Reagan(have to put them into the great Defense squad too)...the other two playoff teams this year I believe will be Roosevelt(good Defense, good Offense...balanced attack) and Reagan(have to say, never thought I would say this), owe you Reagan guys an apology...thought after loss of Marcus, you would have down year or two...you did not and this year have even found a Defense...Sorry and Congrats...

26-5A...you all are having a great season and I know you all will represent San Antonio and Region 4, right along with Judson in doing our best to get back to the state title game...STATE OR BUST!!!
