Stinks!
I was there for the Houston Aeros-San Antonio Rampage game Saturday night after catching the end of the Rice-Southern Miss game, which was after the Texas Tech-Texas A&M game!:D
Seriously, it's a pretty new arena, but mostly nondescrepit. It's not large and it's not particularly interesting. I was severely disappointed. I like the barn in San Antonio more than that dump and I never say much good about AT&T Center. I still like Minute Maid, the Astrodome was groundbreaking in its time, and Reliant is nice, but you get a major fail on the Toyota Center.

The AAC = United Airlines Center (Chicago Bulls/Blackhawks)
It's the EXACT same.

Having been to both, they are nothing alike. For one, the United Center's location sucks. It's also a decade older.

Most arenas have the same basic bowl structure. Outside of that and the art deco styling influences, the two venues have little in common.

The picture looks nice and I like how it looks from the outside and couldn't wait to go to an event there, but it's just not nearly on par with the AAC and is newer.

You get what you pay for. The ACC is two years older but cost more than twice as much.

I still haven't been to the Toyota Center. I haven't been to a Rockets game since the Summit and Hakeem.

we go to 2 or 3 a year as well as Aeros games. i like it just fine. All three of Houston's venues make going to the game a lot of fun, that is until it comes time to pay for your refreshments.
Reliant Stadium>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hellhole in the roof
Toyota Center = or slightly < AAA, but not having all of the snobs and fakos has to count for something, right?
BallPark in Arlington > Minute Maid Park sorry, I like the outdoor park better. I do like the roof on Minute Maid in July though.:)

You mean you haven't watched the Rockets since the Rockets were watchable.

I never could get on board with Van Gundy although he was great in interviews. He is responsible for putting Shane "Raisin Head" Battier within a 40 mile radius of me, and for that I wish him much pain.

I've been to two concerts at the AAC - it is awesome.
I saw Yao once in the Hyatt - he's pretty tall.

i'll go you one better. the last rocket game i saw was at hofheinz arena and the lakers brought jerry west who sunk a 32 fter at the buzzer to beat the rockets and calvin murphy who had sunk a 35 fter with 1 second left after westphal had sunk a 30 fter with 2 seconds left. best nba finish ever.

I took pictures of those banners and the statue of Hakeem outside along with the banners and stuff for the Aeros.
1. The Rockets are my #2 NBA team and have been since the mid-80's.
2. I rooted for Hakeem and Clyde in college and also did the same in the pro's.
3. I was rooting for the Rockets every step along the way when they won the titles.
4. History will show that I was a Rockets fan come playoff time during the 90's because the Mavs weren't there.
5. I instantly became an Aeros fan when they came back to Houston as an IHL team and I was rooting for them and Dave Tippett every step along the way in 99 as the Stars were on their way to a Stanley Cup. Of course, they've gone on to win another title this decade.
6. I've had an Aeros jersey for about 10 years that I had made in Korea.
7. I have old-school Hakeem and Clyde Rockets jerseys along with their Houston Cougar jerseys. I wish I had the jerseys with rockets that everybody hates, but I only ever find them in kids sizes.
8. I sure wasn't there to cheer on the Rampage. I wish they'd go bankrupt because the Spurs ran off the other hockey team to put their own team in town.
9. I don't hold any ill will towards any of the pro teams in Houston. I've always rooted for the pro and college teams they have. I even like their colleges (UH, Rice, St. Thomas, etc).

I like both baseball parks, but I prefer Minute Maid:
1. The train
2. The cooler summer
3. The louder crowd when closed
4. The flagpole on the field is better than the suit sign
