Hey Folks...

If your school is 3A or 5A please ask them if they advanced to the area competition to be held this Saturday. If so, wish them luck because after Saturday your schools band may or may not be competing in the State finals in the Alamodome on Nov. 4th.....

Good luck all!!!

Football has every year to advance to the finals. Band only every other year.

I had no doubt Bowie would make state.

Akins? I was on the visitors side when we played them, so I guess I didn't hear them that well.

yeah, I think everyone was quite surprised when they made it especially over Connally and Round Rock, but it's all up to 5 judges.

No shocker there.

Haltom MIGHT have been considered a shocker, but as far as the rest ... :notworthy

Don't get me wrong, Haltom had a good show. I just didn't expect to see them go that far.

ET (THS) band was down in the pack at area, but advanced further than two years ago. Two of the five judges really didn't like them much at all, the other three had them in the middle of the pack.

Bell and Marcus could both be tough. Good luck to all five of them.

(THS almost sent their band in to play GV in the third quarter last Friday night, :D. OHHH, get over it, just kidding.)

the NB band got 11th in Area D by one point.. I was really excited because Area D is tough and it would have been too easy for them to do worse. I was expecting a lower finish

^^Well at least your band fell one spot short of Finals in a tough area...
My Warren band can't seem to get past spot #18.:(
Yet somehow some other band I don't think deserves to get in top ten gets there:mad:

What happened with The Woodlands to get them DQ'd?

Grlslvftball2
11-05-2008, 12:07 PM
never mind. I answered my own question:)

The Woodlands were disqualified due to unknowingly marching an ineligible student at a few contests earlier this season.

Man, I feel bad for them. They are a really good band.
