P-ville at Bowie for 25-5A title!

Both teams have byes, so let's discuss this great matchup! Bowie is the best the AISD has to offer, while P-ville is in first w/o a loss. Bowie's offense is explosive and physical, as are their special teams, and their defense is great vs the run. They have all the ingredients to beat the Panthers. The Panthers are gonna have to play a great game on defense and special teams by not giving up any easy scores and their offense is gonna have to get 28 or more points while not killing drives with penalties, loss of yardage or TOs!

Pville actually plays Akins this week and hopefully comes out of the game without any injuries. It is doubtful that we will have Bishop back for Bowie and that is a bummer. Pville has kept it extremely simple from an offensive standpoint in district because they haven't had to open up the playbook. Last week we tossed it left and right and did enough to win the game. Trust me, the offense has much more to show and will hold off until Bowie. We haven't run any screens or draws plus the QB hasn't run any yet but he can. We just need to play sound defense and good special teams. Our kicker/punter is again very good this year and our return guy Burleson is very good having run a punt back for a TD last week. Pleased to see we didn't turn the ball over last week which is a bonus. OL still needs work but DBs got a real test and they held up well. Overall, Pville has a decent team with much more speed on offense than last year. However, last year's team had to big boys in the backfield and they could get a few yards if/when necessary. I have never seen Bowie play so it should be fun and a close contest.

we actually did have a turnover. it was late in the game and we picked off the Austin QB and tried running back a little but then fumbled. best part of it was #25 for Austin picked that up and i guess he was trying to house it. but he ran back towards his own end about 40 yards before we tackled him. it was a knucklehead situation

Connally was not any faster than Bowie. They had 1 guy that I thought would be scary if he got in the open field, but he never did.

Bowie barely passed the ball at all tonight. We didn't bust out the Spread Wing package once. We ran our base runs plus one reverse at Connally all night.

Pville will be the top DII seed; Bowie will be the second DI seed. Next week's result won't have any effect on that.

Of course, it'll look nice for Pville to have that trophy for being an undisputed champ.

But who really remembers district titles as much as playoff wins?
