As reported in the San Antonio Express News, only 4,141 fans were at the Judson vs. O'Connor game.

Why such a small turnout?

I recall 8-10K crowds for Clemens vs Judson games in the regular season not too long ago.

I would think that Judson fans would be all over this but maybe not.

I do not know, that is why I am asking.

Where are all the fans from Judson and why are they not in the stadium for a second round playoff game???

I have said before you can have 1 or you can have 100,000 still wont change the scoreboard now.

As for someone who was at the game, I'll say this. Judson side was not full but very well represented. Rocket fan was out in force. O'Connor side... Well... Maybe there was something going on in Helotes last night...

Yeah..... I wasn't too impressed with Rocket Pride last night either, it wasn't in Converse last night thats for SURE. I parked on the Judson side and decided to buy a ticket on the O'Connor side! Reasoning was: It was a Play-Off game at the Rockets Home Stadium, and NO WAY will a walk up find a ticket on the home side. Come to find out after buying a ticket the ticket lady said their were plenty tickets left on the Rocket side! Oh well I needed the excercise! From where I was sitting looking at the home side Rocket Interest looks as if it has taken a nose dive. The CHEER TEAM looked like it had maybe 9 girls in it! You could tell Judson playing like a team with 4 losses, they scraped by a team loaded with Juniors and Sophomores. Oh Well, its been and/or will be a good ride into the Semis for the Rockets.

It's called the "law of gravity" mojo. What goes up will come down. It's also been a long ride. One that has been both rewarding and heartbreaking at times. Maybe it's time to move on and let the new kids on the block have thier time in the sun. It's something the Rocket faithful hate to see or admit and it's something the rest of the state can't wait for. Maybe the majority has finally succeeded. With the new high school it could be the end of the "Rocket Era". I will say this though, there are football fans all over the state of Texas from ages 10 to 90 who have witnessed the Rocket Run. It will be hard to duplicate that feat.

bullrock, i'm about sick and tired of you saying rocket pride is dead. the only place rocket pride is dead is in your heart, so why don't you quit coming to the games and quit trying to represent the judson faithful. it took a hell of a lot of pride for this team to come back from the hole they were in and now be right in the thick of things come play-off time.

you need to move on b/c you've got no rocket pride.

You're right. Rocket Pride dies if the coaches, players, students, teachers, and fans let it die. It doesn't have to die just because a new school opened up.

OK, that's a low number and says the place isn't full. The Expense-News always has garbage numbers for games at Judson. The place is said to hold 12K, but they never say that much even if the place looks full. The most I've ever seen them say were at a game since 2003 was 6K and I know that's not true.

The same number was announced at the game.

This is paid attendance number not the number of people attending.

Just looking at past crowds, they sure must have a lot of people sneaking in! :D

I was at the game, on the 50 yrard line.Judson had plenty of fans,it was O`Connor that was`nt representing. They must have thought they were gonna loose.

O`Connor pulled out all the gadgets. They left nothing on the field. They scored TD`s on 2 flee flickers.Had some beautiful long pass and catch plays.Got a good call on the onsides kick to start the the 2nd half. But Judson played well enough to win,and did.Judson secondary made alot of good plays, along with the game ending int.to ice it.

O`Connor had no TO`s left for their last drive, and were making some good pass plays to the out of bounds, and making 1st downs to stop the clock. They were at least trying to get into field goal postition, but Judson snuffed the drive, with #20`s int.Good game, for both teams.

I'm tired too winagain. If you think Judson has what it takes to compete with WF, go ahead. I won't knock you for your opinion. If both teams win next week, we will see. I have as much pride as any Rocket fan on the board. I am also a realist. I guess that's something that comes with age. Anyway, have a nice day.

We all know it's going to be tough to beat Westfield, but I wish you were more positive in your comments. The players read this board and I want them to believe they can and will beat Westfield whether they do it or not. I don't want to tell them they can't win, because I believe they can.

Maybe I can create some good bulletin board material for them.

Earlier in the year, I blasted you for your thoughts as well, but at this time I am starting to feel the same way as you. Rocket football has been yours and mine lives over the past 20+ years and it is hard to swallow what will be happening over the next few years. It can't be the same and we should all know that. The new school will take a toll on Judson for the next few years. I am hopeful though that the district will continue to grow and that Judson will get back up to around 3900 kids and the picking of posible better players is possible. I cannot get a real feel on how long will the really good Judson as we know it will take. I am hoping that we will only go on vacation for a few years, and then bam back to normal. Really Bullrock that is all we can at this time hope for. I do think that next year it is possible that the 28 or 29 year winning streak could be in jeopardy.

The future is hard to see but trends are not. I'm in no way dissatisfied with what is taking place. I can only hope Rocket ball will continue to be the focus of our community, win or lose. The team has been the uniting factor of a diversified municipality for a long time. We have lost half of that. Some say the better half because the athletes will attend the other school along with a lot of long time coaches. That is yet to be determined. There will be major changes in the disrtict in the next ten years and there will NOT be a Judson high school anymore. We might as well take it slow and get used to it.

You might want to reconsider your statement. I was at the game, the Judson side was not the problem. The O'Connor side was almost empty. I wonder why the O'Connor community does not support their team? They are one of the up and coming teams in the SA area. This years team was young but had a lot of fight in them, next year they should be better. Last night and last year they gave Judson all they could handle. All I can say is, those that stayed home missed one heck of a game. Go Rockets!!

RUMOR ONLY... I've heard it several times and it has come from several different sources. It's been talked about and I heard it first early last year. The property owned by JISD out on Evans road will be home to a brand new "state of the art" high school in the future. The gray campus will become another junior high school and the red campus will become a sports complex. Judson will be the name of the school district with the new school getting a new name. There will be no more Judson Rockets. So, if this comes to pass, and I expect it will, Rocketball will truly be a thing of the past. You heard it first on the 5A Texas Football Board!

Evans Rd and what? Where is the property that Judson owns?

Interesting rumor. I can see it happening.

There might be a new high school on Evans Rd, but I do not see anything for at least 10 years, if then.

Nacogdoches and Evans, about a mile or two down Evans from that intersection.
