Won't be Carroll, unless al the undefeated teams fall apart. The earliest the Dragons could get there would be week 1 of the playoffs. Thanks Ike. :(

LMAO... but keep checking back to this thread, right? So, interesting, Being undefeated is not important. I guess it shows different value systems. Fact is I dont think any team except Garland has more than 7 wins. The reason for that is Garland started on week 0 and has its last game on week 9. So Garland COULD have 10 wins on THURSDAY week 9....ok now then, who cares... right?

you said nothing about being undefeated, only getting to 9 wins first;)
so Garland gets to their 10th win first because their bye week isnt until week 10...well whooptie frickin doo!! abilene, trinity, and many other teams will all be 10-0 once the season ends. so i guess you can have your week of supremity, or however you see it:)

Garland has been impressive this season. They've gotten better each week. They lost their starting QB before the Rowlett game and still beat a pretty good team in Rowlett. No disrespect to Naaman Forrest but if Garland loses in district it will be because they beat themselves and I just don't see that happening with this team.

Due to Ike and Coppell, we won't have 9 unless we make the PO's and win the first game. Oh well, I would sure tak 15 wins if we were good enough to go all the way. Good luck to those trying to get to 9 first.

Your point in this thread is ridiculous because if you win out, which yall most likely will, yall will have 9 wins before anyone else because yall haven't had your bye week yet. Also even with our weak SOS, every poll in the state still thinks we're better than yall!:D

He'd never admit it, but the gray one is actually a nice guy. He just enjoys riling people up. And there are plenty of folks who can be riled...
This has been such a fun year to be an Owl - it could all come crashing down soon (naaman is still very good, i dont care what anyone says - and berkner will be a tough draw in the first round, if indeed it is the rams we face) - but thus far it has been totally unexpected and deliciously fun...
Forgive us if we are a little giddy and maybe somewhat annoying... hopefully the magic continues, we can have a decent playoff run, and then we'll be downright unbearable... :D

Yeah, Abilene has a weak schedule. The schedule gods worked it out that way. Totally out of our control at this point because the season already started otherwise we would revise our schedule on a weekly basis to play the nations #1 team for that week.
We are just SO grateful that we won't have to face that oh so tough garland team who "whooped" up on our cross-town neighbors. garland is a cinch to win the D1 championship and if AH were to win the D2 championship, garland could then claim they are the better team since they beat cooper by more points than AH did, even though AH allowed cooper to score one less point than garland did. If by chance AH does participate in D1, it's a given the matchup with garland will end the warbirds season.
garland, we praise and worship you as the mighty powerful football program you are. Go... Play out the remainder of your tough schedule. ... Put a whoopin on MoJo, Plano, Allen, Trinity & Co. I would bet those teams would not even show up knowing they would endure the pain and humility you have bestowed upon teams during the course of this season.
garland, we bow to you....

A better question might be who loses to Berkner in the first round of the playoffs?
Could the better question be when HP will win, if ever, its 2nd state championship in the last 50 years?
HP, while playing those rough Carrolton schools and Greenville and such, have had one district game vs. a team with a 500 or better record. We know what happened when that one little country school came to Lovers lane to play the Super Hype. Including the one 5A team that HP had the balls to schedule, thier opponents record is W24, L40 (But they did have a great game vs Greenville)
Garlands opponents record is W36, L29, and Garland has played, I believe, six teams with a 500 or better win %, in 5A;)
I dont know what will happen vs. Naaman. I hope the Owls win, and some of us will be at the game to see.
As far as the 1st round goes, I think the Garland kids will just be honored to be on the same field with Berkner, and I think they will make every effort to show up for the game. I hope the game is not at Texas Stadium, because that old yellow bus may not make it that far again. I f the game is at one of the Mesquite stadiums and we cant get the bus to running, some of us will carry the kids to the game in the back of our pick ups, and on some hay trailers.

Don't go gettin all gooshy about Berkner. We could have snow flurries before THEY get to nine wins.
Myself I'm hopin for Texas Stadium one more time. We never had the kind of throwin around money to buy Jerry Jones nachos and cold drinks, but this year we done real good with the hogs and if we get the chance we're gonna do it.
