Madison couldn't stop Katy's offense and Katy's defense couldn't stop V Young.

Reggie and Vince were both amazing and still are. But I got a chance to see Reggie up close and personal when he single-handedly beat Euless Trinity in the State semi-finals in 2001. We were up 21-0 at half and they came back and won. Just a horrible feeling. Reggie McNeal played both sides of the ball that night. Was anyone else at that game? If so, you can attest to how much of a stud he was.

the 2001 katy team was without the starting qb that game...
yound and lewis were awesome that year...but..the 2001 katy
team was the weakest katy team in the last 15 years....

V Young as a Senior (2001) is the best HS football player I have ever seen play in person.

Saw him play in 1999 and 2000 against Katy in the playoffs also and you could tell he was going to be good, but 2001 - wow!

I also got to see Thurman Thomas in the early '80s at Willowridge - he was great and did everything! Also, way back when I was in Jr High saw Eric Dickerson at Sealy play and man, talk about a MANster! He looked like he was playing against a youth league team!

2001 V Young is the best I've seen at the HS level, though.

I remeber V. Young's spotlight being stolen by C. Schroeder of Westlake in the Semi-Finals in '01. What an amazing game, something like 56-52 Westlake. Schroeder's speed was just too much for the H. Madison D. He put up some sick numbers in that game both with his feet and arm. I was at the Westlake vs. SA Madison the week before and he was the difference in that game as well. He kept setting up in the pocket and as soon as SA Madison's D-Line would pressure him he would take off. He did this several times on 3rd and 10 + situations and ran for first downs every time. Westlake won that game in OT. I guess you might say Schroeder was a Madison killer. Too bad for Schroeder and Westlake that Reggie McNeal didn't play for another Madison.

From Eddie Hardin to Broderick Thomas......from Sean Gay to Greg Kite.....

The Madison Marlins have always produce special atheletes who were men among boys....

Vince sure did look good in those Marlin colors slamming that Katy defender in the end zone....

westlake beat madison 48-44, not in OT. tthe Madison-North Shore game went OT, 61-58, tied 35-35 at the half.

You said as dominating in HS right?

Well Reggie won a state title...what did Vince win?

I'd say Reggie was just as ...if not more...dominating than Vince...

And I am a die hard Horns fan...and I can't stand anything aggy...

but Reggie was awesome at Lufkin High.
