Fans have short memories. Unfortunately, the bar is set pretty high in Texas. If Mack loses 2 games (doesn't win the BXII Title) and loses the RRS, next year, those stingy fans will start back up with a ton of crud. I think Fulmer has stayed far too long at Tennessee and annually underachieves but if he can win out (upsetting 'Bama, SC and Vandy) he'll have an 8-4 record and likely land in some Bowl. With the upset over Bama, the fans would forget about the vast underachieving and the AD would likely give him an extension. It's usually all about what you've done for me lately!

The problem with Mack is this DC has been freaking out of this world! He's a bada--! BUT.... he'll be a HC this time, next year. There's just no doubt. Lets be honest, Fulmer likely wont beat Bama and the Volunteers will have a poor record. He'll likely be let go! Muschamp will have a ton of options... Washington, Syracuse, Tennessee, Auburn (??) and Clemson! He'd be crazy not to make that jump!

Considering what UT is capable of paying the man, I don't know about that.

Not at all! UT won but their defense still gave up 35 pts and 435 yds. Muschamp would likely find the SEC his home, as a HC, giving the propensity of the SEC to live and die by intense defenses and the fact that Muschamp loved coaching in the tradition-rich SEC (at Aub/LSU).

Here is the skinny. Coach Muschamp will leave The University of Texas and become a HC. Deloss Dodd's days as our AD are numbered. Coach Brown will be offered that position. At that point Coach Muschamp will have more experience under his belt and will be offered the HC position at The University of Texas. As I stated in an earlier post, this is down the road. Now all of your speculation should be on The Horns finishing the season STRONG. As for the tepid reception for Coach Brown early in his career at Texas, well, the alumni looks at the bottom line...............RESULTS.

Thats all we wanted to be honest.. Was Major to play based on results on the field.. Chris and his daddy were promised by Mack and his staff that if he came to Texas he would be a starter as long as he was healthy.. Once they realized Chris might not be a world beater and Major was playing great at the time, Mack started using Major more and Chris didnt like it.. As far as we knew there were never any threats to leave but Mack could read between the lines and thus you saw a shuffling of Chris and Major in and out of the lineup... He couldnt justify letting Chris be THE guy while Major was there, but he also knew that Major was a difference maker and in all honesty wanted Major to play full time.. Mack second guessed himself and the fear of Chris leaving and then if Major got hurt or suddenly started playing poorly would leave him open to critisism, not realizing he would face that near as much as if Chris left, He started this shuffling crap to try and apease both of the players as well as the alums... if he would have just left Major in there full time UT would have been far better off ... Chris was a good player and Mack had hopes for him to eventually come around and lead his team.. much like Major did... We saw what happened and the rest is history...

When the same issue came up about Chance or Vince and the alums were screaming for Chance to play.. Mack stuck to his guns and began to face it all over again... He stuck with it and told everyone it would pay off and he was right and again the rest is history... Mack in this instance went with his gut feeling and if he would have done that the first time with Major.. He wouldnt have faced all the crtisism he did and calling for his job... None of the alums ever doubted his ability to evaluate talent and coach it.. We just wanted him to make a decision and stick with it.. And in both instances if he would have just gone with what his eyes saw he would have been right.. And obviously in the later one he did... in the first he didnt... I promise you I wasnt one of those calling for his job... But I did question some of the moves he made at QB especially.... But all in all it just goes to show that you shouldnt listen to the alums, even though we think were right about 99% of the time...:D
