Where would he have gone?
Texas wasn't really giving him a look.
A&M? HAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA
Tech? Sorry but their defense is awful!
Baylor? They are still a few years away from being legit
Pellini is going to turn the defense around pretty quick, the offense may take a little more time after what Callahan did to it. I think he made the right choice, although I'd have loved to see what he could have done in the SEC.

Tech defense is awful ???>> Let's see didn't Tech and Nebraska just play last week ?? Remind me on how that turned out.
Nebraska played a great game of keep away time possession but their defense was far from stellar. When left on the field like what happened against Missiouri , Nebraska may have the worst defense in the conference.

Basically what happened was an awful defense (Tech) stopped an even awfuler offense. Hope that rings a bell:rolleyes:

A&M would have him starting as quickly as Nebraska. So would Baylor. Both programs are turnaround stories as is Nebraska. I would have thought those two would be prime choices with the chance to possibly start as a true Frosh. At Baylor, he could possibly be in on the start of something really exciting. Heck, TCU's got an outstanding defense, why not TCU? If he had to go out of state, why not join somebody like Mizzou?
I have seen Nebraska only once this year (I think it was Mizzou-Nebraska) and they looked absolutely pathetic. Not that A&M and Baylor haven't as well, but I just don't get the connection.

Ok I will remind you how that turned out....
Tech's defense gave up 31 points, 29 first downs, 114 yds rushing, 357 yds passing, 471 yds total, 40 minutes time of possession for NU... They played great defense right...
And I know that you will say that Nebraska didnt play great defense themselves and your right.. Though other than the final score they played better than Tech did... The important thing to remember is the history of both programs... NU will eventually play better defense and Chris proly knows this... And if he goes to NU.. they will play better defense... Chris is an outstanding player and I truly believe we will see him playing on Sundays in a few years... Good luck to you Chris..;)

He was probably better last year. I don't think he ever wanted to go to Tech. I'm not in favor of how he handled his recruiting, though. I won't gripe either way about Stephens between MN and Tech, but Williams rubbed a bunch of Tech fans the wrong way with the stuff he said.

?????Say what??? If anything, he has blown up more plays before they started in 7 games than he did all of last year. Let's wait until seasons end to determine if his junior year was better than his senior.;)

lets see... perhaps its the legacy of poor defense [Tech] vs a legacy of championships. Perhaps its the team that invented the phrase black shirts to describe smothering defense vs the best example of a "best defense is to score more points on offense" system in the Big 12...perhaps the country. Could be the fact they spent 50 years without a week out side the top 25... i dunno I mean I guess it is hard to understand right? Gimmie a flipping break. To use a high school comparison, they are having their Odessa Permian moment. For me, choosing Tech But would be like someone a few years ago saying a player should choose Midland High over Mojo. Of course he could always change his mind if he decides he would like to have tortillas with the occasional bleecher thrown his way. Winning championships will be found some place else. Just saying.
Go Big Red.

What most of you seem to be forgetting is the amount of time Williams has had to be on the field. Of course his stats were better last year, tougher district (a whole lot tougher), played the entire game. He has been pulled at half time how many times this year? How many times has he played in the 4th quarter this year? I think the Richland game will be good game to see where he stands. I would imagine he will be turned loose on the Richland offense. I would also be willing to bet he will be as unblockable and disruptive as ever.

I love the history lesson of Tech v.s. Nebraska >> Tech has now won 3 in a row against the mighty Huskers and the last game before this latest one in Lubbock Tech hung 70 points on Big Red ( 70 to 10 final).
The only issue that Tech had in the latest game with Nebraska is that they scored too fast. Those 3 and 4 play scoring drives just did not control the ball. One final point on the comparison of the defenses is what happened when it mattered was in OT > again Tech scored in 3 or 4 plays and the Huskers spit the bit and the ball in 2 plays.
Keep deluding yourself about Nebraska >> Chris Williams is now joining a program going nowhere fast >> congratulate him if you see him.

Have you seen him play this year? The kid is having a spectacular year again!!!! I would say he could be havin a better year if you can believe that. I have been to every game accept FW Paschal and saw every home game last year. I'd say he is having a better year than last year!!! In 7 games this year he has 40 tackles 11 for loss, 1 sack, 2 int, 1 fumble recovery he returned for TD, blocked 2 kicks and forced SIX fumbles.......and he hasn't seen the 4th quarter in several of those games. He has a chance to repeat as 5A Devensive MVP. Just ask some people on here who have seen him play for their opinions.

No delusions here, Nebraska is certainly rebuilding a program. But I love how you mention a history lesson, then move to the last three meetings. Why dont you finish that "history lesson." How Tech of you  Nebraska has more National Championships then you have wins over their program... get over it. As for my point, I love Nebraska, but that isnt the sole reason for what I say. Tech is a great place for a good offensive player to excel and a sorry choice for a person who wants to build his carrer in defense. Not just one year, or two seasons, but Tech is known for poor defense. Anyone who disputes that is either a blind follower or flat out blind. Even that should be simple and obvious enough for a Red Raider fan.
