Yeah; too bad we all can't have a poster like that of ourselves flipping the bird. I'de love to create a memory like that so that I could pass it down to my children and grandchildren. Just think, his grandson can show that to his grandson and say look how wonderful your great, great grandfather was!

I got a big *** picture of myself flicking off the camera hanging on the wall. What kind of American doesn't? Hope to show it to my children and have them show it to their children. Memories.

Actually, I'm just a guy who holds myself to a higher standard. I understand he was a great musician, but he was also a drug addict, abusing amphetamines and barbiturates. On his show in the sixties, he claimed to have "tried every drug there was." He had multiple marraiges, children outside of marraige and was in and out of jail on several occassions. If you think that is the definition of "a good man", then I think you're the wierdo!

I don't care if he made good music or not, I expect more from myself and my children and quite frankly, it offends me when people in the public eye behave that way.

Most people only dream of the level of success he had, and for him to behave like he did ought to tell you how self centered and childish he was. If you want a roll model like that, then knock yourself out.

sucks to be you... judging people because they choose to live their life different from you... expecting people to be perfect... he wasn't living for you or anyone else... like I said Jonny Cash didn't care what stuck up ****** thought... he lived his life the way HE wanted... not the way people expected or wanted him to live it... so for that he will be my role model... I would pick Johnny Cash to be my president 10/10 times if he would of ran...

I guess it runs in the country...

I'm not judging anyone, just disagreeing with your oppinion that he was "The Man." I really could care less how he lived his life or what he thought about how others viewed him.

Yeah, it sucks to be me. I have a beautiful wife, beautiful children, a great job, and a wonderful home and a great family. I have morals and ethics, I'm honest and have friends who are the same. Yeah, come to think of it, life for me is terrible.

Then don't call me a wierdo, a stuck up ******, and say it sucks to be me! I think he was a good musician and we should be able to disagree about the rest.

I liked the man. He was different..and he was himself.

The drug ordeal was pretty much how musicians dealt with driving all day and playing every night. They weren't that educated on just how addicting those things were at the time. He eventually faught it..and won.

I think if June Cater (being the upstanding woman she was), could forgive him enough to marry him, that says enough about the man himself.
