South Garland vs Lufkin (?)

I think there is better than a 50-50 chance that this game will happen. South should take Lake Highlands, and Lufkin will win. As much as I would like to see the GISD district do well, thats about as far as South Garland can go Im affraid. Giant killers can just last so long. Not trying to look to far out but, that game will get some interest.

If the Owls win vs. Carter, their game next week will be either Friday or Saturday at Waco ISD. I wonder where SG would play Lufkin? Maybe Ennis?

I have SG winning against LH, Rowlett beating Berkner, and the Garland vs Carter game is another tossup week. If Garland can get their "passing" game going early they can win. Carter's D is fast and they will be hard to run against... We'll see what happens tomorrow.

That's nice that you have a pick but where's you reason? Are you just picking Lake Highlands cause' they're from your district? Please! You have got to have a better reason then that! So show me your reason! Here's mine: Lake Highland's defence just isn't good enough! I've been looking at the numbers all day and they aren't that good. And also who has LH played? Only Berkner and Longview. Their district is one of the worst in the DFW area. South Garland has played SGP, Garland, Rowlett and Longview and all of them were close games. LH's offense will most likely do well cause SG has a fairly weak pass defence but LH's defence is just not nearly good enough. I mean if Longview couldn't stop SG's offense then why should I think that Lake Highlands can? Here's the passing stats from the SG - Longview game, the area of LH's defence I've noticed is strongest: SG went 15-24-2 for 245 yards. Here's LH's passing stats vs. Longview: LH went 19-29-3 for 143 yards. That's 100 yards less then SG and 5 more attempts.

SG: 15-24-2 for 245 yards
LH: 19-29-3 for 143 yards
Rushing
SG: 18-48
LH: 23-55

Longview's stats vs. each team:

Vs. SG: 13-20-0 for 179 yards

Couldn't this thread wait until Saturday evening. Neither team is guaranteed a win. It could just as easily be LH vs. Hays.

I think we all know that he is really not the 2nd team back considering J Turner is the better one. Kibble has a different style but i have said all along that i would prefer Turner getting the bulk of the carries because he is much more explosive and has better vision and moves. Now that it is playoff time it seems the coaches agree. ;) Do not get me wrong Kibble is a hard runner that runs low to the ground and he has done a admirable job this year. I just think you will start to see a lot more of Turner just like last game. Only Shankle is faster then Turner by the way.

Lake Highlands was breaking in a new quarterback when they played against Longview. And thats an understatement. That kid did'nt play AT ALL his soph year due to an injury Not to mention LV was playing with a lot of passion that time of year (judging by how they did in their last few games) . And lets look at another common opponent: W. T. White. Lets see..... SG beat them by how much? 12? come on, WT White isnt that good, SG must suck :p ! Next we have North Garland: both teams had close games against them. LH's was in round two, SG was later, I think in the middle of the season.

Personally, you can look at ANY of these scores and find reasons for saying SG is gonna kick some or saying LH will roll. Personally, if its a low scoring affair (under 20), SG will win, and if its a high scoring affair (over 30) LH will win.

Let's see. South Garland has more restaurants in their area but they are further north and its colder in the winter. Lufkin has all those trees which are nice but the pollen can be bad.. Oh wait! It's funny how people's attitudes change after a big upset like what we witnessed with Longview. I'm not just talking about Longview fans either. I talked Longview up big and I would do it again if I could. It's funny to look at how some people talk about each week's games now. They don't want their team to be like Longview and I don't blame them.
