That was a great hit and all, but he missed the block that would have gotten the RB into the endzone. Ran right past that defender to hit a guy that was beaten already.
Still, what a bell ringer.

It was definitely an absolutely brutal hit. I assume that we have gotten word that the kid that got hit is going to be alright, or surely we wouldn't be putting together highlight clips of the injury.

That's a rivalry game hit right there but borderline dirty. Anytime you go head hunting it usually comes back to bite you down the road.

The touchdown came on the next play. #20 is a part time starting QB, Reciever, punter, kick-off man.

We are told he was ok. We were also told he finished the game on the bench but may have been a little wobbly after the game. We were also told that was his second such event this year.

As much as it hurts me to post this link (no pun intended), this was a great takeout as the Allen player went bowling, and nailed the strike.

Not saying it was a better hit, but to take out 2 players with 1 stone... priceless.

#20 for Permian clearly comes in shoulder first.

Doesn't matter, helmet to helmet at :31 and :42. It just happens some times # 20 did come in with the shoulder first and then the heads collide. He did not lead with the helmet so It was not like he wanted to smack the guy with his helmet.

Reminds me of that cold night when A&M played TCU and Quentin Coryatt dropped Kyle McPherson.

I was at that game and I remember that hit! You could hear it in the stands!

I was watching at home and remember them saying it broke McPherson's jaw. I also remember it was the night Magic Johnson announced he had HIV. There wasn't any such thing as a "ticker line" back then, but ESPN kept running it across the screen every few minutes. It was a cold night wasn't it?

That is the best I have seen since youth football. We had a kid knock a kid out and the other team quit playing us -- any time you get the Coach to throw in the towel you know it was a hit!

You're correct, and that often happens in football. Generally, "helmet to helmet" refers to leading with the helmet. So I'm not sure why it warranted a comment.

Yes it was a clean hit and completely brutal, The kid was down for a long time. By the time someone went and found the EMTs they had him sitting up.

Best hit EVAH!!! Too bad Coryatt never did make a real splash in the NFL. He was brutal at the college level though.

LOL, The reason they dont post is they no longer have their beloved Cedric Benson. I was suprised at the Lee fan turn out though, Alot more than I expected.

Am I the only one that thinks he should have done his job as a blocker and blocked the guy that actually stopped the run?

If you watch my clip from the game, you can see #20 Castillejos ran a bench route on the play. He had his back to the other player downfield. When he sees #12 Rumbaugh is headed his way, he also sees #10 for Lee headed his way and takes him out. #10 for Lee would have made the tackle if he hadn't been taken out. Around 4:05 in the clip- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj56J9NSgRw

I see now. #10 was actually much closer before the hit.
