We don't have a thread for this game going yet so I thought I would start one. Want Creek's opinions on the game if you care to give them.

Now you know why the SJ threads are smokin'... No one wants to talk Katy... What's the point? I guess that's why we have our own board...

Most of the Creek fans are over on another other board, but I will give you my take.
Creek is a solid team. Offensively they are not flashy but get the job done. QB Overstreet seems to have a knack for something out of nothing. RB DJ Harper is pretty darn good. I think what hurts Creek offensively is they do not have a dominanat O-Line.
Defensively Creek is very good. MLB Kelley is a stud and I am impressed with their overall team speed on that side of the ball. I do not know how they will match up with Katy but I think the D can do a few things to limit the Tigers, at least early on.
Creek plays hard and is coached well. I think Katy will win the game but I do not think that they will blow Creek out. I say Katy ends up winning by 2 TDs, which is not bad considering how good Katy is.
Hope that helps a little bit.

Fair enough, but this will most likely be another 35-6 type win for Katy just based on the fact they have the other team out coached and out classed. I really dont even think this Katy team is as good as last year's team, they have a better record, but the competition is much weaker. They are good enough though to not have a serious challenge until SV or SA Madison in the semi finals. I do think they are just a little better than those teams and should play in state against Southlake, who even though I am a Katy fan, is one of the best high school teams I have seen this decade.

I am thinking 45-0. Reason is QB. 2003 - Ben Jonson was cool, calm and always executed well. 2004 - Gayhart was very dependent on Aston to run.
2005 - Daulton is more accurate and comfortable in the pocket, makes RB plays more sucessful when used.
Is it Saturday yet?

Creek may give Katy a scare, but I doubt a loss!

I heard Cy-Creek has good special teams. Is the place kicker a good field goal kicker?

of course... Katy is probably once a great team again... if they go all the way to state with Southlake Carroll and Southlake Carroll beat Katy by a few points than Katy should still be a great team.

wow, i guess creek is done!!!! not so fast my friend............ they have a pretty good d-fense and some solid players on offense. maybe they do not beat katy, but i guess they will go ahead and make the trip and give it a shot.

Games on paper never happen. Paper is worthless. What happens on the field is the ultimate testimony of how good a team really is. I expect a better game from Creek than what Clements offered. If Creek didn't come to win, then why come at all? Katy doesn't expect that from any team. Katy doesn't want that from any team. They come to play and want to play a good game with any team that wants to play. I expect the Creek D will play well and the special teams will be effective from what I have heard about them. Hope you all have a nice time at the game. I know the fans from Katy surely will!

I just don't see Creek's D even coming close to slowing down Katy's offense.

Playa,
Do you think Creek's offense is potent enough to move the ball on Katy's defense to put up 21?

I predicted 45-0 in my pregame post.
53-14 surprised me with Creek scoring twice.
Overstreeet is pretty good but turnovers killed 'em.
Katy defense stepped up bigtime on the picks and fumbles.
Go big red. :)

WTG TIGERS!!!! Yes I was surprised that Creek was able to score 2 td's against Katy also. BUT what I was APPALLED at were the Creek fans LOUDLY chanting "********" when they thought the refs made a bad call against them. Ive been faithfully going to Katy games over the last 4 yrs and I have NEVER heard any of our opponents fans be so blatantly RUDE and unsportsmanlike!!!!!!

i was sitting on the creek side supporting 175A. when did this happen because i never heard it? i did leave at the start of the 4th, though. kinda felt like katy had it wrapped up at that point. i would be a little surprised by this from creek though.

It must have been one of those things like sitting behind your own band. You can't really hear them but you can hear the other teams. Well the BS was floating across the field LOUD AND CLEAR.

It happened a couple of times. First half if I recall. Seemed to me it was coming from the student section, not the majority of fans.

Sorry, would never have mentioned had it not already been brought up.
I think the Cougars stayed tough and played tough. Good run in the playoffs.

and there was 1 call i maybe would have called bs on (except us ags give it a "horse laugh"). the defensive holding on a receiver who was 10 yards past the intended receiver. seemed wrong to me. made no difference in the outcome but seemed wrong.

i think they showed well for their character also. severely overmatched, but they kept fighting. way to go cougars!
so 175A only has 2 teams left now. :D

I couldn't believe the whistle blowing thing during our school song. Oh well, no big deal.

Yeah - that was their drill team officers whistling as they marched out on the field - during the playing of the Katy school song.
As you said - 'oh well, no big deal'. :o

No problem with the whistle during the school song. The drill team marched out when they were told to and it just happened to be during our school song. No big deal. The second worst showing this year which isn't too bad with a 39 point win.

On the TexasPreps board they said they were going to have a surprise for Katy. Was it "Let the Katy defense and special teams score more points than the Creek offense?" Because that was a surprise! A surprise party!!

No big deal, unless we did it and then we catch mess for it... I thought we added something new and wondered who was blowing them darn things...

I'm surprised that the drill team was doing that - that's pretty rude. Nobody should be moving during the school songs or national anthem. And the Bulls**t calling, if true (I wasn't there to witness - having my evening with Mr. McCartney - gosh I love him!!) then that's just not good. Anyway, congrats Katy on a great win and congrats to Creek for a very nice season.

It was unusual and I've never seen that happen before. Creek did play hard and didn't throw in the towel even though the game was over by the end of the 3rd qtr.
PM me about McCartney concert please since it's not football thread worthy. My auntie used to babysit him when he was 3 yrs old in Liverpool.

I actually turned to my friend sitting next to me and said are they really chanting BULL****, I was very shocked to say the least, and the intentional reach to grap the face mask of one of our players right in front of the linesman was also a shock.
Puttin all that aside, nice job Cy-Creek in making it to the 3rd round in the playoffs. Maybe we will see you again next year :)
