Not too much talk about this game. I would be very interested in seeing this one at GPISD prior to Katy-Cy Creek at Tully. I'm sure Coach Joseph will have people there.

Any thoughts on this one. I'd like to go see it if it were worth all the driving I'd have to do.

I don't know anything about creek, except for that I've heard they are much improved from the start of the season, and they beat Deer Park last week, so they proved it. I saw Beaumont play Westfield so I know a few things about them. Westfield won the game 42-14, but the game was honestly much closer than the score looks. Defense scored TDs, or made turnovers, giving the westfield offense excellent field posistion to convert into scores, otherwise the game would have been a much closer, lower scoring game. Westbrook has a very very good defense. It's offense is a bit sloppy though. Maybe it was just Westfield's amazingly talented defense making them look that way though. They have an athletic quarterback with a strong arm, but he's not very accurate. They run the spread with small, but quick receivers. They got a little dude, #2, who reminds me of Katy's Konesheck(I'm a Katy fan and ex player) He'll catch almost anything, and leap up and outjump the taller players like 'sheck does. Their runningback(#10) is a very, very tall kid. I'm surpised he plays RB. When they were warming up, he was throwing the ball with the QB(#11), and I was having a hard time deciding who was the starter based on looks(they both look like great, athletic signal callers, I would have never guessed #10 played running back. They have a small roster, and if I remember correctly, they have a few kids playing both ways. The defense is very tough and swarms to the ball very well though. They hit hard and aren't afraid to get up in your face and make the play. They got a really good linebacker(#33 I believe, but could be wrong) He's got great size and played his posistion very well. I am looking forward to a Katy-Westbrook match up, not only because of the epic '94 game..but because my girlfriend is a Westbrook graduate and I played for Katy..so it'll be a fun week if it happens. Remember, westbrook is under a first year head coach who turned this program around this year after their 2 win season in '04. Gotta give them credit for that

Clear Creek has done nothing but improve each week and mature on the job. They have almost an entire new coaching staff with most not starting until August this year. Thats why its taken so long for them to jell this season. I hear talk about all the wide outs Katy has but, let just say that once the Soph. QB settled in, he had 6-8 targets to hit that all can flat out fly. Just ask Deer Park, Pearland and especially Brazoswood. Mistakes and turnovers kept the defense on the field to long, along with the quick strike offense early in the season. So like Clear Lake the defensive stat is a bit skewed (Whittaker, Geno Blow and Carlos Frank along with injuries at LB) account for most the stats. Another interesting tidbit for you Katy fans, is that Coach Lane is their defensive coordinator who had to rebuild Creek from scratch. You should remember him since he was Lake's DC last year against yall. Coach Warden and Coach Rogers come from Baytown Lee (Drew Tate), hense the style of offense and QB.

Watched Westbrook last week against Madison and that game was nothing but sloppy and horrid to watch (lots of turnovers and fall starts). QB has terrible accuracy. Westbrook's running back went down with a deep thigh bruise and the talented 5'4 #2 was on the sideline with cramps (he goes both ways). If they make these same mistakes and Creek's O is clicking on all cylinders #33 will be running in circles with his tongue hanging out because he made almost all the plays against Madison. Very good LB but he can't do everything.

Creek has enough depth to platoon receivers and lineman and their strength is the O'line. Those guys are the unsung hero's in my opinion, so I predict Creek 24 to 14.

Creek is also under a first year coach and the team is coming off an 0-10 season last year. Major kudos for the quick turnaround should be given to Warden and is staff for an awesome job.

I think you may be right...but the score wont be that far spread. 14-7. but im not counting out Westbrook. they could win. but i dont think so

Sounds like it would be woth going to see before the Katy game. I'm not sure if Creek is coming out of the same part of the bracket that Lake came out of last year. I just remember that it hurt. I'm sure there wiil be Lake fans there for that game as well. What happened to Lake this year. Is it because the coach went over to Creek.

To many seniors graduated from the team last year and while they still had some remnants that put up stats (Geno Blow), it wasn't enough to offset the loss of Oswald and Jones. Oswald was one of the best option QB's I've seen execute the game and the Gilmer kid that took his place is more suited for a passing offense. He just fumbled the ball to much. I'm not sure anyone could DC for Lake this year with all the fumbles and interceptions they had, with that they still put up awesome offensive numbers but it doesn't do much good if you don't have the ball anymore once you get to the goal line.

Creek is coming out of a different part of the bracket than Lake did last year but I just found it interesting that Lake's old DC could face Katy for a second consecutive year if he can come up with a game plan to stop Westbrook.

If I make that game, which I probably will, that will be 3 for me this weekend. I'd probably be joining Lonny23, because my girlfriend gonna tell me to take a hike.

Well, it's looking more and more like my nightmare game may happen. I've thought about it a little and have come to the conclusion that although my hs allegiance belongs to Creek and deep down, I am a Wildcat at heart, I'm a Tiger now and I'll be 100% Tiger on game day. So bring it on!

:o The stress of it all!

I am very proud of Creek for pulling out this year. I knew they would eventually wake up.

KatyDad,

I decided after last year's loss to Lake that I would make every game that could possibly be an opponent for Katy. So I will be there Saturday.

I may be in the same boat with you and Lonny. I'm going to North Shore, Friday night, Clear Creek and Katy Saturday. Yep....3 games in one weekend....hope these games don't dissappoint.

Great Fleeman, Maybe I'll meet you there.

Oiler, I'd love to make it to that one Friday night, but 2 trips out there and the huge crowd to boot, too much for me. If 195a weren't playing Friday night I would probably make that one.

Ktfiend, I know, once you become a tiger there's no turning back. When you have the success that we do and you see the excitement it brings to your kids and watching them be apart of it. Not only is it great for me, but it has been a huge positive in my kids lives.

West Brook sucks! The only reason their in the playoffs is because of a *bleeping* hurricane. If Rita didn't hit we would be talking about WB basketball right now.

it is ture though, Westbrook wouldnt have made it in. Spring or PAM would of been a better fit for the spot. But both teams where kind of inconsitant. And they lost the games they needed to win, but if they would of played the whole schedule one of the two would of made it in.

Scooter may be a little bitter towards Westbrook since they beat his Titans to claim the playoff spot.

That one hurt. Classic games come both ways. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Can't argue with you sir.

Im going to go with WB I really thing that this 4-7 team will put up a fight but in the end The Bruins will get it done.

You may be right but I have a feeling from some of the interviews they are looking past Creek and looking toward Katy. Their QB didn't want to talk about Clear Creek, he wanted to talk about facing Katy the next round because nobody can lose to a 4-7 team (thats a Deer Park, Clear Creek and a Cy Creek slight). In my opinion I believe Katy will beat Cy Creek however. I wonder if the QB passed the 1 year residency rule since he came over with Coach Stump?

I also heard they already have Katy's films and are preparing for them.
