In case for the future, does anybody know if SV will have a new flip with Katy or will it revert back to when they played them at Bobcat in San Marcos???.....By the way, this matchup will happen.....between now and then there is only practice for both squads!!!

Trev did you have to move back in with your parents after ESPN canned you? Also, how does it feel that they have replaced with a complete hack in Lou Holtz?

Actually my parents kicked me out of the house so I am now living in the Gulf of New Mexico...And Lou is a very dear friend of mine so I can not say he is horriffic, he just needs some help. What can I say he is old.

Hey, don't rag on Lou Holtz. We got a guy on the radio here that does an absolutely hilarious imitation of Lou.

No. That was in 2002.

if they have played twice with a home and home, it'll revert to a coin flip, or a neutral site. cosidering the dearth of proper stadiums between and betwixt, i suspect it'll be home and home. btw, where are well attended po games in sa being played now with the adome out?

So Bobcat is still in the picture for a SV vs. Katy matchup....

My understanding was it was home and home when they met in 2002 and SV got Bobcat. Since they have not played since, if they were to meet this year, Katy would get the 'home field' - which was designated as Tully Stadium in Houston.
Not sure, but that is what I have heard....

the only fly in that ointment would be that i think that rule has been changed to incorporate only the last 3 years, which would be 20-04, i think. it used to be for 5 years.

Could be. But would three years be 2002 - 2005 (?) and include this year. Don't think field would really matter in a game between those to programs, but it is interesting how that all plays out.

you are right on. the 02 season counts as 1 season, so the window for Katy to get the game in Houston would have been 03-04. This season if they were to play again, a new flip would take place. So SV has the oppotunity to get Katy back at Bobcat stadium.

Thanks for the clarification, farmerfan.
We'll see how it all shakes out in a few weeks. Good luck to all!

I thought the turf at Bobcat was a problem for Katy at the time. I think their home field is now the same or very similar.

The SV nation would swarm to BOBCAT if that is where it would end up.....SV would also definetley have a psycholgical advantage considering they lost in San Marcos already a couple years ago and the Katy fans hated on the fact that BOBCAT is a match box of a staduim.
Not that I am looking to far ahead but ...Because i am a believer in SVand picked them in my bracket...but does anybody think that if their is a rematch with SLC, do the Rangers take Dodgeball to his old stomping grounds, which is DKR in Austin.

We don't want another match-up with the Rangers. You know what they say......3's a charm.

(a) I would hope 'SV nation' would swarm wherever the game is. I promise you'd see the 'Red Sea' represent - no empty seat on the red side, I guarantee.
(b) I don't see any psych advantage since none of the players were there in '02.
(c) I don't recall 'hating' on the stadium - I think most thought it was a great venue.
A lot of football to be played before we have to worry about this.

Not worried about anything but Saturday night's game right now.

SV or Madison (one of those two will face Katy) could use Alamo Stadium (AKA "The Rock Pile") as a homesite. I personally like Bobcat in San Marcos, and I wouldn't be shocked if either SV or Madison used the Texas State field. If a San Antonio area team wins the semi-final match-up and politics (and FOX SPORTS SW) doesn't decide the local, look for a state final at "The Rock Pile", which happened in D1 in '01 with SA Taft and  Mesquite.

Me and a couple friends tail gated for the Katy Game in 2002 and we were the first SV people there and when we got there there were at least 100-300 Katy fans already there. Then and there I knew that Katy had a great and very supportive fan base. This was easily 5 hours before the game.

Those Katy fans didn't want to be late! However, I bet they left early too!

Correct. I was scrolling down to see if anybody said it. New flip and hopefully in SA.

There ain't no psychological problems playing in Bobcat 'cause all the kids that played in the 2002 game have graduated plus SV hasn't beat this Katy bunch so psychology doesn't even enter into it. If the two teams meet up it would just be mano y mano where ever the game would be played.

If I was SV, I would be awful tempted to play SLC at SV. It sure won't be in Austin.

Ha, Don't come down on my Lou. If you guys think high school football is fun you should of been on campus in 88 when Lou brought us the National Championship. ND is 06 "Weeerrrreee Baaaccckkk"
I am a Katy guy and with my son this year I am looking forward to feeling the championship feeling again.
