I consider these to be upsets. You might have a different opinion. Pick the team you believe will be most likely upset. Interesting to see how people vote on these polls when they have to pick a loser rather than voting for their own team.

i hope for your sake you're right

actually, cove is a team i am completely unsure about. i think they could be upset as soon as this weekend, but i could also see them coming out of R4

Carter is ranked ahead of Garland, so I would call it an upset in the literal sense, but I believe we have a good shot at winning this game. It's gonna be smashmouth, big hit, battle-in-the-trenches, classic Texas football.

Maybe there will be no upsets this week, but who would have really thought that SC and LV would be 1 and done.

From looking at this poll it would seem there is not a lot of faith in COVE,Carter, or Smithson Valley...guess we will see. Will be interesting up here if there is another big upset this weekend that is for sure.

Cove is in Region 2

Cove is in Region 2

Yes, Cove is in R2.

For this pole:

Region 1 has 4 teams
Region 2 has 3 teams
Region 3 has 1 team
Region 4 has 2 teams

Things have changed since LV ans SC were upset. Round 2 is still an early round, but I wouldn't be surprised to see another shocker. SA Madison has emerged on the scene after round 1 that has caught a lot of peoples attention. I'm not sure if that says a lot about their program or something about SC.

The reason why Dallas Carter the most is that because of many Garland Fans on here vote against Dallas Carter. Of course they didn't vote Garland at least.

Who are the four bozos (clowns) that picked SLC to go down. Allen has about as good of a chance as Mercury has of blocking out the Sun!

2005 - 5A Division II State Champion: GARLAND OWLS (14-2)

Gig'em Owls!!!!!!

To all my Garland brotheren, lets relax with the "fan talk", and let our boys take care of business on the field, Friday Night!!! They have enough to worry about, then having our possible "over-confidence" and/or jinxing, involved!!!!! I know you're pumped up - so am I, but I've read a few "questionable" remarks - primarily towards Longview - and I just think we ought to be thankful that the Owls beat the Lobos, and hope for the best in the future!!!!

That said...

Garland 38
Dallas Carter 35

This poll looks more like a hate list, than a real upset poll.Madison has one vote, and SV beat Madison.Maybe they think SV has a tougher road, nah, they want another team to represent reg. 4.

No, after Longview and SC lost last week, I took the remaining top D2 teams and mix some in that the KT's Picks to win. Not a hate list. Just a shock list. Weren't you shocked that LV and SC exited last week?

Half the teams will lose this weekend. If we would have had the projected clash of the titans between SLC and ET. Somebody would have had to lose in round 1, no one would have been shocked. This weekend Westfield and Northshore, 1 will lose, no one will be shocked.

I think last week people were shocked, I was. I don't know a lot about a lot of teams in this poll. I was using info that is available to create other peoples insight to see if there were going to be a shock in round 2.

You're lukewarm! :D

You don't win titles, but you also don't develop a Cubs following of fans for being a loser.

Only one this week? I think as we move through the playoffs there will be less chance of real shockers. This week the real games that would shock people would be if SA Madison, Judson, or SV lost any of their games this week to the RGV or Laredo schools.

It amazes me the amoutn of people who say the Lobos, lost, they were shocked, and any other character of why they aren't playing. The fact of the matter is the Lobos lost tot he refs, yes the lobos played some subpar games this year, but they have never lacked on offense, and in the SG game they piled up 418 yards...Fact and we need to get it right, THE LOBOS WERE ROBBED, BY WHAT WE LOOSELY TERMS AS OFFICIALS, the refs jobbed Longview...418 yards of offense the defense had like three turnovers and they give up only 14 points, yet they lost, that game should have been over by the half...if you are going to talk about Longview give the facts on the Ref. I am sure they have been relieved of their duties for the disasterous game they called, GAVE that game to SG. I just wonder how many yards did SG pile up on longview, we all know the refs gained over 100 yards on the Lobos in just 11 attempts, which is about 9 yards a play against the Lobos, so he refs had their game face on now I just want to know what SG did agaisnt the Nation and state's best team.

Realization is tough pill to swallow. . . unfortunately the line forming to play basketball will only get longer over the next few weeks . . . that's guaranteed!!! Again, no matter how you look at it, whether you play 11 weeks, 12, 13, etc., there will be many teams to join LV on the B-ball court. There will be only two teams left when the little rubber balls (turf balls) clear. With this possibility a reality, you'd think that the teams left would opt for humility. There were some more added to this B-ball list this weekend; and subsequently, there will be more next weekend, and the following and so on. . . We already know our fate; but in the coming weeks, others will have their hopes dashed too!!! So save your tears for yourself, you'll very likely need them. (Previously posted 11/19/05)

Let's see who has joined the infamous B-ball list this week. Pflugerville, SA O'Conner, Leander, FB Kempner, DC, Humble, Amarillo, SGP, Laredo Nixon, SA Clark, SA Jay, LH, Allen, North Shore, etc. Sorry if I missed someone, if you were unexpectedly on the losing end - please email your plans to play B-ball to http:www.5Atexasfootball.com - I'll just be damned if fate has not reared it's ugly head again; and who ever would have thunk it!?! Who'll be next to enter the twilight (basketball) zone, SG, Garland, Abilene, SLC, Plano, CC, etc. etc. etc.? Who knows . . . only the Grim Reaper knows for sure!!! Stay tuned, the saga continues!!!

Come on man, I agree with you, we were had(!!!), we were took(!!!), I know it, you know, the officials know it (I wonder if this is something they'll brag about to the grand kids(?) - "I remember the year we (officials speaking) single handedly took LV out of the playoffs - man, what a rush - the year was 2005 and I remember it like it was yesterday") and most LV fans know it (except for those few kiss azzez("s")); but more imoportantly, SG fans know it - the stats speak for itself!!! But you know what, some people were just plain left out when character and principles were handed out, they wouldn't know the truth if it slapped the sh!!t out of them nor would they utter the truth, of course unless their lives depended on it :o . . . I admire and appreciate your dedication and integrity, but please man - let it go, for your own sake and peace of mind, please be  Who knows, maybe they'll (SG) get the hat brought to them this week when the venture outside the friendly confines of DFW-Metroplex!!

After reading all the diatribe and foul language from LV fans, I'm not sure that I've seen anyone else on this board that could come close to being able to enter the same lounge.
