View Full Version : Pflugerville...Contender or Pretender in D1

Although Pflugerville has 4 loses they are still thought to be a good team. They have loses to Judson, Smithson Valley, Leander, and Round Rock McNeil. Are they a real threat to win a D1 championship or living on borrowed time???

I won't speculate. I've not seen them play. But, let's be real, it's the playoffs. Anything can happen... like the old say goes, "on any given sunday..."

well, on any given friday.... I hope pretender, but I'm a realist. Getting to the sweet 16 isn't easy no matter what your record.

the title of pretender to the State Crown for Pflugerville is perfectly appropriate. we haven't done anything on the state level since 1970

They are very good. They played well against both Judson and SV this year. I'll say pretender b/c I don't think they will have what it takes to get past this round or the next.

Pville is just as much of a contender as Consol. They have the athletes to play with anybody in the state if they can get that turnover bug off their back, and they can stop people.

Plfugerville has a real shot against AMC this Friday. I have seen AMC play, and they have a good offense and good rush defense. However, they are suspect on the pass.

Two teams that I always follow and consider darkhorses are Leander and Plfugerville. They have the potential to upset anyone. With that being said, it seems like anyone has the potential to beat the best teams....

Contender. Well Coached and good athletes - always a good combination. As far as Pflugerville vs AMC - We played them both but I predict Pflugerville by slight margin.

They are very physical and fast. Big play capability at any time. We had just played Pflugerville and i saw that the third playoff spot was going to RR or RR Stony Point and told my son that Westlake's worst nightmare happened.(Panthers in D1).They are by far the hardest hitting team we have played this year.Contender

Pflugerville typically lives on borrowed time. They always have a tremendous amount of talent, but don't play consistent enough weeks in a row to ever make a great playoff run. I think they win this week, but I'm betting against them playing mistake-free football for 5 weeks in a row. They have the talent, but haven't shown that they'll make the run.

Well tha Chaps got sent packing earlyh which was nice and of course the Chaps fans picked Pflugerville by a slight margin. Again they were wrong.
After tonight, they can all begin to work on next years plan.
