Closer than I though, but great game and good luck.

I guess with a 21 point lead with 9:15 left in the 4th qtr, Trinity went into prevent a little too early. This caused them to let up 14 more points that otherwise I don't think would have been scored. But they did and it made it exciting. :D

I heard the game on the web, but it's hard to get a real feel for the game without seeing it. Was this the result of an immensely talented offense, a too conservative defensive strategy, or a combination of both?

It sounded to me like a combination of the two, but, then again, I wasn't there.

give Colleyville credit. Trinity was up big and got really soft, but you're right, Combo of both. Trinity really backed off and let them go down the field to take time off the clock. Oh I almost forgot to mention, The refs caused this game to go REALLY long. They couldn't make up their mind on anything.

Very good game both sides. CHHS QB is very good when given time. THS found the answer by rushing more than the three down linemen and stopped CHHS. BUT, once THS got well ahead, they quit doing that and only rushing three gave the QB way too much time and he picked the THS secondary apart.

Again, both team played very hard and should both be shown some respect.

Now, for my big gripe. That had to be the worst officiating that I've EVER seen. Some really badly missed calls going both ways. The worst of course (IMHO) came in the closing minutes of the game. THS was running the clock out and an official blew a whistle for no apparent reason while CHHS had no time outs. Then, the wouldn't (couldn't??) start the clock again. That cost quite THS quite a bit of running clock time which led to a different play choice than they might have run. As a result, CHHS got the ball back when they never should have. Could have been a game breaker.

But, in the end, I think the best team won (bias, who's biased, LOL). Ended up being by my predicted difference of 7 points, too.

#7 looked hurt so the linesman called an official's timeout. That's why he had to leave for one play. I was surprised the official made the call.

Fuller and Lineweaver were in the side judges ear all night. Fuller got that injury timeout called. And Lineweaver, what a great job convincing that side judge on the illegal downfield calls. We had two illegal men downfield penalties that were called on the outside reciever for covering up the inside guy who was on the line. Or not, one of the things our recievers do is check with the side judge every play. I think that the crew was more nervous than the kids. They had very little control all night.

That said, Trinity wins and we fought hard. Both teams deserve all of the praise. Best of health and luck to Trojan nation. Great atmosphere, Texas football at it's finest.

While every football team's receivers check with the side judge before the play, it's just for show. He's not allowed to tell them whether or not they're line up incorrectly before the play.

Just want to add that Trinity Defense in the second half was missing two key players and one of the 11 on field nursing a very rough injury.... this IMO contributed to the Colleyville second half scores, BUT COLLEYVILLE REALLY PLAYED AN AWESOME GAME AND WILL ADD SOME EXCITEMENT TO A GREAT D1 REGION 1 PLAYOFF RUN!!

Wishing you success with the remaining district play and health to all of your players!!

What did CH do - pass out white shirts in the parking lot? Y'all had a good "white out" going on with your crowd.

As a matter of fact they did... kinda. I wore red because that used to be the "away" color last year before my boy went on to College. I was handed a white T before I went in!

I was only kidding but that's funny - and it worked!

Actually they do tell them, by touching the bill of their cap.
