Well...I guess if you've never heard of the Harris Ratings, you don't know much about Texas High School Football.
And that rating means what? Last I check the game was play on the field.

We'll find out in two/three weeks. No matter what happens, Duncanville has much improved under Coach Dicus' first year and will be in the playoffs for the first time in what....five years?
Yeah we sure will see how much they have improve or not!

Harris Ratings carry a lot more clout than the Dallas Morning News. Sorry...it's just a fact. They take EVERYTHING into consideration, not just win-loss record. Duncanville lost two close games to teams that are undefeated and one close game to a team that will probably win their district. Nevertheless, there will be two great battles played in weeks 8 & 9.

PREPARED is the word that you're looking for genius. Wow...I'm so glad my kids don't go to school in Grand Prairie ISD!
Let's see can Dville shutout Nimitz this week. Nimitz has not been able to score any points in there last two games.

dude; you guys are pretty rude. Layoff sgp3 he is a class act and just roots really hard for his team.
no then; dville has been blessed in two ways; first; they get put into a weak district and second; dicus comes to town. dville has between 4500-5000 students they should be competitive every year.
forget all the other schools they have to go to cedar hill and win, and that my friend is no easy task. :Censor: the harris whatever they have not beaten cedar hill in two years and i don't think it's going to happen this year either.

Duncanville may very well rank higher in the Harris poll in our District, but D'ville is not in the top 25(5A dfw metroplex) in rushing, passing, receving, overall offense, or overall defense. To me that indicates a team that is not able to stop other teams nor score effectively enough. Maybe I will be proved wrong but until D'ville does something I will not be a believer.

Try again...3600-3700 students. Yes, he does support some teams, but he also has a habit of "inserting foot" We just help him chew on it a little. No harm intended.
See, now your words are getting a little too obscene. Take a chill pill and come back later.:D

To my good friend up there in Panther land, keep it going!! You said it would start that Desoto week and you have been proven right. You guys are doing a great job. I've only had my power on for the last few weeks down here so I am still not taking the electricity for granted, much less some good hs football!!!:D Good luck with the rest of the season.
p.s. Seems you have been proven right about Desoto as well. I know we disagree on this, but I hope they right that ship.

So who wants to face Plano? The 2nd place D1 team will be facing Plano. The other likely Allen.
CHILL should draw Plano West and IMAC (maybe) gets Wylie.
So who gets to round two? Since the district is all settled.

Dicus will have D-ville dominant. He did it at Lake Travis with WRs/RBs and DBs that ran 4.7-8s in the 40. He will turn them into a well coached power up there and statewide. Cedar Hill has the same HC from state title year, but are not consistent, they will not beat D-ville 4-5 years from now on any type of regular basis.

Man I didn't know there were too many Dville folks on here.
With respect to Cedar Hill and SGP.
SGP
We haven't played in a while but I can't remember the last time y'll have beaten us. I think the game this year will be close but D'ville will win because of the coaching.....
Cedar Hill
Outside of last year y'll have struggled against us, even when we sucked. In 2006 y'll beat us 21-14.... I know it was windy outside but that score says something... Soooo....while I think y'll will make it through the district with no losses you'd better up for the D'ville game....
With that said here's how it will 7-5a will finish
1. Cedar Hill
2. Duncanville
3. South Grand Prairie
3. Irving Mac
4,5,6,7,8 ....honestly who cares they aren't ready this year.
If I'm wrong and Dville ends up facing Plano....Plano look out!!!

No matter who wins, it will be due to several things. It is a combination of coaching, athletic ability, luck, calls, or just a bad day. But a win is a win. Good luck to both, there will be a winner in the end. Both are winners before the game.:notworthy

One advantage SGP has is that DHS players have not experienced this before, even as JV or Frosh players. So this is strange territory for the. The stress level will be high.
Now does the Harris poll take all that into consideration?

Duncanville is 31 point favorites tonight. I don't think they will cover that spread. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Duncanville loses tonight...being homecoming and all. However, I do think Duncanville will face Plano in the first round and that is a great accomplishment in such a short time by Jeff Dicus and his staff.

you bring up how D'ville will win district blah blah blah. And now you come back with "I wouldn't be surprised if Duncanville loses tonight"... So on one hand you have confidence in them and start spouting off about Harris polls and on the other hand you think they might get beaten by a team that has not scored in their last 2 games.
