So what do y'all think about South Garland? Is SG for real or was beating Longview just a fluke? I was on the Longview to State bandwagon--so now I'm lost!
After watching SG play some unsteady games during district, I wonder whether they can put it together and build off the big win or if they'll be too overconfident after knocking of Longview.

They have talent, but it all probably ends in 2 weeks against Lufkin. There is always the risk of losing this week coming off of a huge win. It happens every year, but the best coaches keep their kids from doing that.

What about Madison? Its not a fluke that they won but do they really have what it takes to get out of region 4 and if they do how much of a chance do they have vs Katy?

Madison might be able to beat SV and that's what it takes to get out of R4.
I can't give you a good idea on Houston. Katy, NS, and Westfield may be real good, but they may be somewhat benefitting from crappy teams around them. I really don't think some of the Houston teams are as good as they are advertised. I'm talking about Pearland and Lamar and guys like that. Id they were that legit, then R4 and the top half is in trouble.

Well, if Judson gets past O'Connor I think they could easily be in the state semis. Did they stay in the wing against Seguin in the first round or did they try some of their new stuff that "wasn't working" earlier this year.

Old Judson football of running it down their throats.

South Garland is like a mean dog. If you want to beat them you'd better bring a big stick. I don't doubt that Lufkin has one, but you'd better be sure you bring it.
During the season they got beat often enough (by teams that are still in the playoffs) that they didn't get the big head. It remains to be seen how they will deal with that now.

For real, Longview didn't take care of business, I know it was the 1st round but anything can happen in the playoffs...

I will not knock SG simply because they got it done on Saturday when it counted. However, I would have to agree that their win over L'view was a fluke, but in no way can anyone judge how that will affect them this weekend. I agree with Lonny, if the coaches do their job, then these kids will show up ready to go again. They are very dangerous IMO, because they have nothing to lose. They are supposed to be pratcicing basketball this week instead of preparing for Rd. 2.
