I've been looking for Bleedgreen's take on the Longview game. He's always a voice of reason for the Lobo faithful. I just read the LV paper's version here:
http://www.news-journal.com/sports/content/sports/stories/2005/11/13/20051113LNJlfootball.html
Sounds like LV just could not finish it off in the red zone. First and goal on the 5 after the fake punt. You had good stats all around. The pass play on 4th and 1 -- and handing it off to the soph. on 3rd and 1 are questionable, but not outrageous calls. I think it's good to point out out your kicker was a sophomore and he was 2-4 on the day, actually 3-4 including the mystery timeout call - can't blame the entire loss on him for sure. Tough way for the seniors to go out.

That's a good question. Maybe he went to Nacogdoches early when you guys were talking about finding girls and drinking a few days ago! Watch out Texas, bleed is on the prowl and SINGLE!
I know he hasn't read the forum because he wouldn't be able to shut up over some of the stuff that has been said! :D

I feel the pain of the Longview faithful. We have had our share of early exits with good teams in the past. I'm sure Bleedgreen will be back when he gets to feeling better about it all.

He takes this stuff hard. That's why he didn't razz me hard last year about Judson even though I made him want to spit nails at times.

I agree. Where is Bleedgreen - he always has an opinion on everything.

As do I. Our round 1 exit from 2001 still stings me, games you should win but dont suck. I think bleed will post when ready, the last thing I would want to do is get on here and see all this crap that would just bring back the memory of the past game, bleed will be back when ready, till then lets allow the longview posters to reflect back on the great season they just had.

There is no need to call the guy out by putting his name in the title of the thread. He is a good guy and will come back when he wants to. He is not a daily visitor of the boards and will be back and I don't think that the reason he is not here is because his team lost. He is just not that type of guy. Give him a break

Bleed's one of the best posters on this site. It's tough when a team you know should still be playing has to turn in equipment this early - and BG is no doubt feeling the pain.
He'll be back - the Bleed I know doesn't duck from anyone...

I agree totally and Bleed knows I wasn't calling him out - not in the least. I wanted his take on the game because he's a straight shooter.

well, Bleedgreen is back.....after several xanax and high-powered drinks later--LOL......not really anything to say.....all of you guys called it right---we choked, plain and simple.....this is one of the reasons that i have been trying to "knock down" the "state champion" threads that concern Longview over the past couple of months...tried to tell people not to look ahead, not to crown us champs just yet, and that our two games against Rockwall and NM made me feel kind of uneasy.....you will hear all type of excuses of why we lost---referees, coaching, the wind blowing too hard on the field goal trys---it's all BS!! fact is, SG came in with nothing to lose, just as they did a couple of years ago, gave a 110%, and kicked our butts back to Longview--period!! only thing that i disagreed with was the 3rd and 1--giving it to mark Johnson had to be one of the craziest things that i have ever seen!! Chris Ivory and Vondrell McGhee in the backfield, 2 of the states best rushers, but you give it to a sophomore(who is good as a SOPHOMORE, but not Ivory or McGhee material by a longshot!!)?? the "go-to" guys are the ones that need to carry the ball in these type of situations---not sophomores...what were you thinking King??? Longview looked really lazy out there the entire game, reminded me of Rockwall and NM games.....i saw this coming at halftime....i said to myself, "we're not looking good at all, i feel a repeat of 2 years ago coming"...sorry to say that i was right.....what a waste of a season and all of the potential that we had......next 2 years will be pure hell!!! now, with all of that said, let the "shots" begin at old Bleedgreen---i can take it....but, i won't eat any crow for anybody...i never bragged on our team, dogged another opposing team, or prematurily crowned us the state champions....you guys can attack the "other" Lobo posters about that kind of crap(and they know who they are)....i will still pull for my brothers out of Lufkin to take the title.....and, i don't think that i was called out by my Lufkin brother, he was checking to see if i was still alive, or that i haven't been locked up yet--LOL.....appreciate the concern from everybody, you guys have class....everyone that is still in the hunt, good luck to you on the adventure--just wish that we could still be there.....to the Lufkin faithful, i will still be there to watch the SLC/Lufkin match-up, if it happens that way......Wide, do you think that you could buy a dejected Lobo fan a drink or two??--LOL......dragonfootballfan---thanks for the kind words, brother.....good luck to SLC on another state title run.......owlfan1, garland02, farmerfan, favpack, footballjunkie, NMHS, Lonny, toonman, lonestarproud---thanks for all of the good wishes and kind words........sincerely, Bleedgreen

glad you survived bleed. the first 3 days are the worst. until sat rolls around. i survived my kids thru 6 years and it is now less important as i'm only involved, not committed. when your boys go down, it's always tough though. what's not to look forward to the next 2 years? i'm not believing lv won't put a great team on the field.

Hey bleed, I'll buy you a drink and a hot dog too! If the SLC vs. Lufkin match up happens....sit on the green side..you won't have to wear purple. :D I understand though if you support the east texas boys. Whatever the case,
your welcome to hoot and hollar on the green side. By the way...the pack has all my respect. Classy bunch and a great rivalry.

yea, dragonsdaddy, i'm sure that it is a little harder to watch your own boys lose...i'll have to face that in a few years when my little girl starts playing sports.......dragonfootballfan--same to you brother. i just wish that we would win(and not even struggle) against the teams that we're supposed to kill??...nothing but respect for SLC..always have, always will..............Wide---i will definitely be there for that one..i'll take you up on your offer...............lonestarproud-----yea, what the hell...i look way better in green than i do in purple--LOL..hot dog AND a beer??? i'm in......................redneckin----i;m not worried about that quote at the end of your post, brother...i'm actually a slipknot fan...you're the coolest ECA fan that i talk to...matter of fact, you are the ONLY ECA fan that i talk to--LOL..nevertheless, you are a born-again Texan, that's all that matters.............Lake Highlands VS S. Garland??? who would have thought it??? congrats to both teams..........i believe that Longview has a new rivalry?? just about time for us to schedule S. Garland in non-district---get rid of these sorry Louisiana teams--LOL........hey Lufkin fans, watch out, S.Garland is staking their own claim on Longview...and yet, another streak is born!! gotta go take another "magic" pill now

that's cool---i don't like seeing my rantings and ravings quoted day after day--LOL...one of those things to "act first, think about the consequences later"---seems i still have that problem of jumping first, rather tham rationalizing or thinking things through........i'm working on it, though--LOL..............

bleedgreen - thank you for your 'report' on the game. I wanted to read your overview of the SG/LV game; so I could read a 'fair and balanced' report, from a LV perspective.

Glad to see you back Bleed - a true class act. Thanks for your take on the game as tough as it was to spit out.
The definition of "no excuses" has Bleed's picture by it - we all need to remember this for future reference.

yea, toonman and favpack----i always call it like i witness it at football games.....i'm a die-hard Lobo fan, always will be...when you suit up in that dark green and run out of that tunnel, it's something that you can never let go of....but, i wouldn't consider myself your everyday "homer".......if it comes down to the refs, i will call it like that(multiple games with ECA were ridiculous, as far as the refs were concerned)....if it comes down to coaching, then i always say---you got out-coached, plain and simple...but, everyone can find Mickey Mouse excuses for their teams losing...fact is, when another opposing team comes into the game, are not intimidated by you or your record, rankings--etc...., and have the confidence that they can actually beat you, guess what---you lose---no excuses...that is exactly what happened on saturday.....hats off to SG again...they didn't look like a hard team to beat at all, but they did just enough to send us home for the season...when you really believe you can win, you will almost always achieve that goal..............................

Bleed. I generally don't care to argue the ECA thing because it's pretty much stupid. But with the whole ECA/Longview/Refs game.. I will put my 2cents in because it just doesnt make any sense. The whole freaking state of La hates ECA, why would refs make calls that would favor ECA? They sure don't do it in any other game. ECA walks away from every game every week with more than 100yds of penalties. And I know you think they deserve them and all that crap.. But I know from watching lots and lots of ECA games that the refs dont care who beats ECA, as long as they get beat. And they will help out whatever team they are playing. So if Longview got a lot of bad calls in an ECA game, they werent playing in Louisiana.
Anyway. Hope you're feeling a little better...And I did use your line about slapping the taste out of someobodies mouth on a fella. It didnt seem to have the same effect as when you say it...

Welcome back Bleed. Sorry for the loss Bro. I was afraid your boys were getting a little too full of themselves and fading toward the end of the season. Been there....done that.....it sucks. I wanted to come out and support you guys, but after the fire and all, I didn't make any rd. 1 games for the first time in I don't know how long. Everything is settled for now though. I have a roof over my head, and a smoke free purple shirt to wear to the game this weekend....LOL
We have our hands full this year. If this young offense gets past another round or two, I will be shocked. The best thing we have going for us is the same thing we've built the streak against the Lobos with...coaching. If we didn't have the staff we have, the athletes alone would not be getting it done.
Better luck next year Brother.

definately a waste of this season but why are you already counting us out for the next two seasons?

KLH--sorry to hear about the fire brother...hope everything is going OK with you now...i'm pulling for Lufkin to take it all--good luck......Rclisle--i'm not counting us out at all..but, you know as well as i do that we are losing alot of horses to graduation...sure, we'll make the playoffs, but we won't have near the strength of a team that we had this season...good, but not the talent that we just wasted last saturday.............

I guess it was your choice of words....."the next two years will be pure hell". We are losing almost everyone. We will just have to wait and see how the team comes together. We should have growing pains early but hopefully we will improve and compete for the district championship again.
