Especially if it is a BEATING(That would make it a BIG upset)! OC probably not going to win, but if they did I would'nt mind it happening. I love my panthers, but WAY too young to do it this year.

I could See Smithson valley going down. Jay is pretty potent when they want to be.

I don't think they're upsets, but:
Rowlett over Berkner
SGP over Plano (or is that Pluto or Plato?) :p

I'm going to stick with my dark horse.
Clear Creek could upset Beaumont West Brook. They are 10 point underdogs in this matchup. Then again they have been picked to lose every game, so whats new.
Would North Shore beating Westfield be an upset? I think they can pull this off in their own house.

I hope my fellow SV fans don't stone me, but I think a SV defeat is very possible. I do hope what I am seeing however, is SV coming into their playoff form. They will have to play their best football yet(which I don't think they have) to beat Jay.

I see it the other way around. I think Jay will have to play there best to beat SV. If Jay can play with no mistakes, balance there attack rather than just run, and shut down SVs passing game, they can win.

I agree. Jay seems to go up and down in games. Look at the stats, one game they have 180 yds total off. then next 400. It just depends on how motivated they are to win. I think SV expierence will win them this one. But it would be nice to see at least one 27 team win this week!

I think most people would consider NS winning would be an upset. I haven't missed a NS game in the last 4 years. besides the '03 season, i haven't seen another defense as strong as this one. This one will be determined by who's defense wants it more. Because it being played at GPISD it gives NS a home field advantage. Last year's problem was that NS had only one running back and he was slipping and sliding. This year NS has a whole stable full of running backs. Two of the best... one being a junior and the other one being a softmore.

why would berkner be a big favorite over rowlett? both are relatively similar in po experience, and are a lot aike offensively, at least in gaining yards on the ground. i'm happy to see the old whipping boy do well, but i don't see them being the favorite over many teams left in the po's.

I think they're looking at the record and not strength of competition or district. You really start to see the haves and have-nots in the different districts. I think after this week we'll see 20 playoff teams from the top 16 districts and 4 from the bottom 16.

I went 39-9 and look at both polls and draw my own conclusions about stuff.
Jerry went 36-12 in picking winners.
Calpreps went 37-11.
Both polls are usually pretty close in how many they get right. I usually do a little better than both polls. If both polls agree on the same team, there's a real good chance they'll win. We do have upsets, but the polls give you a real good idea who to take.
You really get a wide range in some point spreads and it makes it a little hard to pick some games. They really do a good job picking some upsets like Calpreps that had Madison over Clemens.

Squirrel88,
I have to disagree with you. I'll tell you what last year's NS vs. WF problem was. After NS RB Gilliam made that initial TD, WF adjusted & put that "THANG" on him, his little Arse was looking for a place to fall. Also, I don't recall WF's RB's slipping and sliding. Recall the 1st play from scrimmage, a 70 yd TD run "GASH" for starters. So what you are saying doesn't hold water, especially for those of us who were at that game. Also, I generally don't post or respond to posts, but I read previously how NS team is the same as last year's only better, etc. I gotta tell ya my friend WF's team is the same as last years also. That is something that alot of folks are overlooking. And if NS gets behind and haven't matured, they will quit. I saw them quit against WF last year. The WF kids are not intimidated by the stadium, location or what have you. If they (NS) have the same players as last years only one year older, they are in trouble. The are gonna get gashed. Talk at you later cat.
Oh, one last thing.
If anyone on the board saw the WF Lamar game on Fri, you saw a very basic offensive attack. You have no idea what Coach Meekins has in his packages. I think they threw the ball like 5 times. That is obviously for a reason. I'm telling you my friend, if they (NS) are not ready and a hell of alot better than last year, they are gonna get ran outta that stadium.

I was at that game last year and you are entiltled to your own opinion. The problem with Gilliam was that if you barely touched him, he would fall over.
We will see Friday who has come along and who hasn't.

I was waiting for someone to say Hays over Lufkin :) -- we'll see. I actually think Coach Outlaw prefers this situation over being a landslide favorite.
SGP over Plano sure seems possible - Plano has not played well two weeks in a row and SGP is solid.
I still say the Amarillo Sandies can beat Midland - just a whim.
I think NS/Westfield will NOT be close - just don't know who wins it - lol.

That's cute Bullrock...Strakes kids have a lot of character and heart, but very little depth. Although I would like to see them win, I don't believe they get by Cy Falls. CF was rated pretty high in the area early but took a whipping from Westfield and ended up with a mediocre season. They may have the talent to last a few more rounds. Humble v CF could be interesting.

If you should win, it would not be a upset since you are playing a team with a worse record than you. This is not the year to say beating Judson is a upset, it would just be another victory. This rocket team goes back to a team like we had in 85 I think, great great defense and very average offense.

Not trying to stir the Pack faithful but I think Hays will send the "Pack" home this week too - soft schedule and over confidence can ruin a very good team. Pack fans are strong supporters and large numbers and they could be the difference in this game. At the very least it'll be another close game.

That's right LOONEY Make Plano the Underdog. We have no chance against SGP. For someone with Rose colored Judson glasses on. How do you find the time to even look outside San Antonio and give your looney!! prediction.

I have time to look all over the state. I care about what's happening statewide. I stand by my predictions and the real prize is to keep playing. I still think I'll have something to root for longer than the Plano fans. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.
