Know what the JT coach said after the game. " Garland made the plays when they needed to, we didnt, they won". Class act compaired to the garbage comments made by King, down the road at Memorial. :(

I hear you grayowl60....and I hear everyone else from Garland, however, lets not dig holes for ourselves. Our boys went out there and played some damn good football...now they have tougher opponents to face, lets not jinx ourselves.

I also hear what some of the JT and LV fans are saying....I'd probably be in the same boat, if I were them. It's always tough to lose, especially when you've already placed yourself in the "showdown" against Lufkin (LV) and Dallas Carter (JT)!

Dont hear much out of JT. They earned my respect, for what its worth. Longview lost it.

Garbage comments made by King????? Do you even know what you're talking about? He said nothing about any kind of conspiracy. Once again, check your facts.

Wow too much trash talking from Garland fans... lets tone it down a little.. Longview had a good team this year, but played a bad game. No need for trash talking. Just say congrats on a good season and move on.

Best comment I've heard, so far!

Quoted from Longview News Journal:

"We didn't put it away," said Lobo head coach John King. "We got it to where it was just six (points) and you just had to hold your breath, because they were still one possession away from taking the lead. We had opportunities to make it a two-possession game, but they stopped us. They made plays when they had to and that's why they won the game."

Man, can you believe that jerk??

Once again a-hab check yours. When asked about the officials he said "no comment, and you can put that in headlines". Never said King talked conspiracy. Take your suggestion, get your facts straight. I dont kneed your corrections

So you're condemning him for saying "No comment."

Yes, I read that. That's a garbage response? Please clarify why.

I, for one, was not surprised by the outcome. JT hadn't faced very many smash-mouth run teams all season with the exception of Kilgore and Longview. When the point production units ceased to produce in the second half it was only a matter of time before the smash-mouth would overcome. Garland displayed a CUjO mentality after the half when continuing to fight for the win, inspite missing a field goal to start the second half, by scoring on TWO fourth and longs. Whomever made those 4th down calls showed they had faith in their players to go out and win the game. You can only tip your hat to the Garland players because they responded with great play execution. I would hope that us JT-CUjO fans, so-called fans, or fair-weather fans wouldn't spoil this GREAT effort by the 2005-2006 JT FOOTBALL seniors by saying, "Garland was not a better team" or that, "the refs were for Garland". The truth is Garland's players played better than JT's players in 2005 but so did Kilgore's and Longview's. My only question is, "What are the JT players going to do about it for 2006?" Next year will be another much anticipated season returning only one experienced player on defense and three on offense. Good Luck to Garland from an Allen Wilson fan the rest of the playoffs. :D

Good job to John Tyler... You guys played a hell of a game. Some of those boys were BIG! I am not sure how some of our players made it past the line, but great game, and good luck to JT next year.

Thank you. I'm glad someone said it.

After the way some of the Owl fans have crowed for the past two days, we better win Friday or we are gonna get ROASTED...

It is laughable to listen to A SMALL NUMBER or Longview fans cry conspiricy...
Most LV fans are great football fans with level heads who support a great program... I won't let the small number of conspiricy theorists spoil my perspective. :D

Guys, keep it clean. Garland should be happy they're playing this week and should focus on Carter. We all have things we can say to Longview and JT, but those guys feel terrible right now. The Owl fans can expect some ribbing when you lose and I can't blame the ET guys for doing it. When you do lose, expect to hear from Lufkin, Tyler, and Longview. Since we all read this, you'll get it from the rest of the state, too. Good honest discussion about what went right and wrong is fine, but not the childish taunts that we're seeing right now.

Is this a joke or are you serious? No - zero - nada penalties. That's got to be a record of some sorts? Man that must have been nice!! ;)

Its true... 0 penalites for 0 yards ;) I've never seen Garland do that... I wish they would do it more often! ;)

Yep, it was a shocker. We usually get celebration, or a late hit, but went 0 penelties for 0 yards. Didnt even get a sideline warning. It was even more interesting with the halabaloo from Longview. But I heard that the head official at the South-Longview game was one of the South Garland assistant coach's cousin, and attends church with the South Garland principle. That just came out :D

The South coach and head ref. for the Longview game, were seen at the Whataburger at Centerville and Miller RD. about an hour after the game. Each were having a double meat whataburger with cheese, and a large coke

That's odd.. The newpaper said y'all had come penalties.. I think they were just giving y'all some randon ones though.. So it wouldnt look so weird for Longview to have a bunch.

What's the point of all of this? And why post such unsubstantiated rumors other than to sitr the pot and cause trouble? Don't post stuff like this without some sort of proof i.e. a link to a newspaper article...otherwise it's just pointless and otherwise referred to as trolling. South Garland is playing next week and Longview isn't, that's all that matters.

Im really trying hard not to let grayowl ruin my good thoughts about Garland and the good people there, but it is getting hard with his immature comments.
A few people from Longview complained about the officiating and now we are all lumped as crybabies. Believe me the city of Longview is in a state of shock right now. We were not expecting a lose on Sat, but it happened. We must move on.

Nope, not a single penalty for Garland. And come to think of it, i can't even think of any questionable calls. Of course, I am a Garland Fan, so I can't say i was looking for miscalled penalties in favor of JT. The "Pass interference" called on JT for Garland Rec TD was a good call, They mostly had procedural calls and some holds, IIRC. The only questionable call was when Garland punted on a 4 and 1, when a JT lineman jumped before the snap into the neutral zone which would have resulted in a first down. But was later waved off, but it could have been my perspective.

Funniest Call: JT has an illegal participation call on a Garland PAT. 12 guys on the field and a fan yells "Hey! You're not A&M!"

Hey Greatone,
Good luck to Garland this week. Way back in the olden days Garland beat Galena Park for state. This was before Northshore was even around. I believe that Coach Johnston(Katy, Houston Christian) played for that Galena Park team. I might be wrong about that. But I think so.I'll root for Garland if you will pull for Northshore.

It's not really that big a deal that the Owls had no penalties when you consider that even TJT had less than a hand full that I can think of. 1 penalty on TJT for holding (which could have been called much more on both teams) then the "Interfering with the ability to make the catch" on the kickoff. Besides those two I can't think of any other penalties. I know they had 1 flag for TJT being offsides on a Garland punt that was thrown but then waved off. I wouldn't say the officials had much impact on the game. But isn't that the way you really want it to be. If you notice the officials too much then their doing a bad job. I thought they did a good job of letting the kids play. Luckily for the Owls it worked out.

It was a very clean game. But its rare for a high school team to have no flags.
