As promised to J-Rock and others. I'll post the emails. They kinda trail off towards the end as I got bored.
Dearest beloved One,
I am Miss Valerie Obana a native of Sierra Leone but presently in Abidjan a city in Ivory Coast. I saw your profile today in my private search when I was looking for someone that can be trusted, so I decided to contact you and I hope you will be able to assist me in this. Please after reading this e-mail have pity on me.
I know this mail will come as surprise. I am 21 years old, it is my pleasure communicating with you for the first time and believing that it will lead to a better relationship between us. I have an inheritance that my late father left for me in the security company here in Ivory Coast.
Before the death of my late father in a private hospital in Sierra Leone he secretly called me on his bed side and told me that he has a box in the security company that is containing $12.500.000. Twelve million, five hundred thousand dollars, I would want you help me to retrieve the box from the security company and invest the money over there in your country. This amount US$12.500.000, I want you to stand as my father business partner and my foreign beneficiary in claiming the box from the security company here. I am ready to offer you 20% of the total money if only you assist me to claim the box and assist me also in investing the money in any lucrative business. I will give you more detail and forward all vital information as soon as I hear from you.
Best Regards.
Miss Valerie.
Dear Valerie Obana,
I was surprised yet pleased to recieve the below letter today. First of all, may I offer my sincere condolences on your loss. I am sure that the possibilty of inheriting 12,500,000.00 dollars does not ease the pain that you felt upon watching your beloved father pass away. However, I note that you are in need of the services of an honest, trustworthy individual to assist you in retrieving your father's money from the safe box in Ivory Coast. Let me assure you that you have found your man! I am an extremely trustworthy and honest person. The opportunity to do business with such a fine young woman as yourself from West Africa is indeed one I cannot pass up, especially with the promised reward of 20% of 12,500,000. As you are obviously a family oriented young woman, I feel confident that this is a genuine business proposal.
I also note that you are seeking to invest the money after you retrieve it. I myself am a businessman and I can provide you with the perfect opportunity to invest 12,500,000. I own and operate Possum Kingdom Fine Possom Products here in North Texas. We are the purveyors of fine possum products such as possum jerky, possum fur lined boots, pickled possum feet, possum hair oil, and possum teeth necklaces. We distribute our products throughout the American South and Southwest. We are known as the "possum dealer to the stars," and our clientele includes such glamorous and internationally known figures as Lindsey Lohan, Wilford Brimley, and Erik Estrada. We are a vertically integrated company and do all possum processing in-house, from husbandry and weaning to cleaning, skinning, and preserving. Last year our company brought in over $2,000,000 in net profit. Once we retrieve your inheritance from the security box, I propose that you invest at least 20% in my upcoming plan to expand Possum Kingodm Fine Possum products into the Midwest, where the great Iowa flood has destroyed 85% of the regional possum processing capability. This will be guaranteed profit for you.
I also look forward to building our relationship throughout this process. Perhaps one day you can come to Graford, Texas and visit my possum ranch. These beautiful, gentle, cuddly creatures can literally provide a human with all he needs for life. We are an organic farm and always process our possums humanely. I am sure you would be fascinated with our operation. Do you have possums in Ivory Coast? I know you have all manner of intersting wildlife, I would be interested in knowing what your preferred maruspial jerky is in West Africa.
In any case, I digress. I am very excited to help you get this money out of the security box. The game is afoot! Tell me how we should proceed, as I would like to help you get this money as soon as possible.

Dearest Mr Richard,
Thanks for your e-mail and the interest you have to assist me towards this transaction. I am very grateful. I contacted you in good faith believing that God will use you to bring me out from my present situation.
Like I told you in my previous mail, this money ($12.5 million United States dollars) is contained inside one iron box and my late father deposited this box in a security company here in Abidjan for the safety of the fund. My late father deposited the box as a (family treasure for export) not as money because he never wanted any body to know that the real content of the box is money for the safety of the fund. I will like you to call for this trunk box to be transfer to you as my foreign beneficiary and you will take care of the business as a director over there while I continue my studies.
Brief details of myself, my name is Valerie Obana a citizen of Freetown in Sierra Leone, I am 21 years old. I was born out of tragic fate. My mother died from cancer when I was only 4 years old, my father nurtured me with great care and love before his untimely death, I felt sad to tell you that my late father died mysteriously by poison. My father was a highly reputable business magnet (a cocoa merchant) and distributor of agricultural equipment, who operated in the capital of Ivory Coast during his days.
I got admission to enter my first year in the University of Freetown before the death called on my father, his death cost me a lot of sorrow and pain. Presently I am in Abidjan a city in Cote d'Ivoire where my late father deposited the box that contained the money $12.5million dollars. I am residing in Catholic Church mission compound here in Abidjan.
These are the most important things you will assist me on. (1) You will assist me to invest the fund in any viable sector that you may advise in your country (2) You will assist to get my visa to your country immediately the fund gets to your care. (3) You will find a standard school for me to continue my education there. Please I need your urgent assistance because I am facing ugly situation here in Abidjan.
I decided to contact you because I felt that you are a God fearing person and can be able to assist me in this transaction without betray.
I will like you to contact the security company: GROUP 4 SECURITY DIPLOMATIC COMPANY and order them to transfer the trunk box containing the $12.5m to you through their special diplomatic courier men who use to transfer all their clients consignment to all part of the world that their clients may request them.
This is the information that you will give the security company when writing to them that will enable them to know the consignment that you are talking about as I have just sent them an approval e-mail that my foreign beneficiary will contact them soon, is as follows:
DEPOSITORS NAME: MR. MARCEL OBANA.
BENEFICIARY NAME: MISS. VALERIE OBANA.
OUR REF: MTI/0169/DP/2005/G4S.
SERIAL NUMBER: G4S/15802448/05
With this information they will be able to attend to your request and give you any information that you may request from them.
Here is the contact of the security company as follows:
Group 4 Security Diplomatic Company
Director's name: Dr. Alf Pederson.
Email: g4s.ssdc@rocketmail.com
Phone: +225-21371225
Fax: +225-06439177
Please do not disclose the content of the box to the security company for the security reason. I attached my pictures for you to know me in person. I will like to see yours too. Also confirm your personal phone number to me.
I am looking forward to hear from you soonest.
Thanks and God bless.
Yours truly,
Valerie.
My "phone number" goes to a free online voice mail system:
Dear Valerie,
Thank you for your prompt response. You are correct, I am an honest person. I can tell you are too, from looking at your photos. Please, from here on out call me "Dick". That is my nickname, it is short for Richard.
I am quite sure I can help you with this transaction and with your requirements for school in the United States. I am good friends with the dean of the college of arts and science at Southwest Texas Freedom University (STFU). We will enroll you to start as soon as you arrive in the United States with your box full of cash.
I am also happy to assist you with investing your money. As I said before, I am the largest purveyor of fine possum products in the Southwest and I am looking to expand into the Midwest. Your 12 million dollars would quickly double or even triple if you allowed me to put it towards this planned expanision.
Before I contact the security company, however, I would like you to answer two questions:
1. Are you willing to commit to invest the money in my possum processing venture?
2. What is the preferred preserved meat product in Ivory Coast? Do you think there might be a market for possum jerky?
I guess that was three questions. Please, answer them in your next e-mail and we can move forward with this transaction. I WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT A COMMITMENT TO INVEST IN MY POSSUM PROCESSING VENTURE. You can see my photo below. My phone number is below, although it can be hard to reach me. Better to use e-mail:
Phone: 206-350-7403
Best,
Richard "Dick" Handler
I appreciate that she is willing to tell me about the best preserved meats in Ivory Coast.
Dearest Mr Dick,
Thanks once again for your e-mail and the promise that you will get a school where I can continue my education. Also thank you for your picture and phone number. I will make out time to call you because I do not know the time difference between here and your country usa.
Regarding to your questions, I do not have much knowledge about investments. I want you to invest the money into any profitable business that you know will benefit both of us in future because if I continue with my studies you will be taking full charge as director of the businesses the fund will be invested in.
The preferred preserved meat here is pig meat but I personally do not like it. I like cow, goat meat and fowl.
I have not across if there is possum jerky market here.
Thanks and God bless.
Yours truly,
Valerie.

Valerie,
Thanks so much for the information about processed meats. Goat, fowl, and beef are your favorites, you say? You must have some of my possum jerky when you arrive in Texas. I will be sure to give you a large supply for when you enroll at STFU in beautiful Carrizo Springs, Texas.
I'm going to contact your bank people so we can start getting the money from the security company. I'll copy you on the e-mail. Feel free to call me when you want, but I may not be available. Please leave a message if I am not at home. I will be out tending my possums the rest of the day.
Now I have to contact the "bank":
Hey, this is Dick Handler. I need to get a box from your security company. Here's the information:
DEPOSITORS NAME: MR. MARCEL OBANA.
BENEFICIARY NAME: MISS. VALERIE OBANA.
OUR REF: MTI/0169/DP/2005/G4S.
SERIAL NUMBER: G4S/15802448/05
Let's get cracking and get that box out of storage. Miss Valerie Obana is due to start school in Carrizo Springs Texas soon at STFU and we want to get the box as soon as possible. I am a busy possum rancher and I want to make sure this all finishes quickly as my females are due to give birth soon.
Did you know there was a TV show about an alien with your name, Alf? He was hairy and ate cats. I loved that show. Do you eat cat meat? I promise you that my possum jerky is superior to the goat and pig jerky popular in Ivory Coast. Let me know if you are interested in importing possum jerky, fresh from my ranch.

A lawyer in Ivory Coast? Wherever am I supposed to find such a person? Where am I supposed to get all of these documents. Valerie, you told me nothing about a lawyer or certificates. Please write me immediately and tell me what I am supposed to do. This is getting very complicated, but I trust you completely. I'm sure you can assist me.
Alf, in the meantime, please tell me your preferred jerky.

Dear Alf and Dearest Valerie,
OK, I found a lawyer in Abidijan. I used the google to find them. Here is there information:
Wilson International Law Firm Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Legal Law Firm in Ivory Coast
17 Rue de Commerce Plateu
Phone: +225 0851 8379
Do you two know anything about the Wilson International Law Firm? Can they be trusted? Are they good lawyers? Should I contact them tomorrow to help with this transaction? I like the fact that they can be found on google, that usually means they are a respected firm.Do you mind calling someone at the Wilson International Law firm and asking him to e-mail me? I try not to use my phone for outgoing calls.
Valerie, how are things in the convent? I hope that the nuns are nice to you. I'm not Catholic but I really appreciate the good work the nuns do. There is a convent not far from me that sometimes finds possums on their property. They always call me to come pick them up. I have several breeding pairs that originated from that convent.
By the way, my address:

Dear Valerie,
Please, don't call me Mr. Dick. Just plain Dick is fine.....I already feel very close to you. We're in this together and I already feel a bond. Friends don't use the word "Mr." with each other.
The diplomatic security company wrote to me and recommended a lawyer. To be honest, I don't know if I trust them to find us a good lawyer. They might be looking to keep the box for themselves. Still, since the other law firm doesn't work, I don't see what choice we have.
Can you please call and talk to the lawyer the security company recommended. I trust you completely, if you think he is honest then we will work with him:

Dearest Dick,
I am sorry for using the Mr. but you have to understand that I still have the respect any way I just call the lawyer, HON. BARRISTER FRANK IWBH and told him that I am coming to his office to know him in person.
As soon as I send you this e-mail I will go to his office to know how long it will take him to get the documents that g4s security company needed before they will transfer the box to your care in usa.
I will get back to you as soon as I know much about him.
Thanks and God bless you.
Yours truly,
Valerie.
Dearest Beloved Dick,
I am just coming back from the lawyers office barrister Frank Iwbh, he took me to the authorized office that use to issue the power of attorney and he told me to explain my problems to one of the workers in charge in that office and she gave us the cost of the official duty and stamp fee is $1,950 that need to be paid to their office for the processing of the power of attorney.
The lawyer did every thing to see that we have a talk with the overall boss in control and before we could be allowed into his office, the lawyer told me that I should explain to the boss to the problem I have that made me want the documents, so as we went inside his office, I explained to the overall boss the problem.
As I finished my explanation to him, God really touched his heart and he have a lot of pity on me that made him to asked us that we should go to their cashier and pay their official duty and stamp fee and then come back with the receipt of payment issued by their cashier so that he will issue the needed clearance papers that will permit the security company to transfer the box to your care over there in your country usa.
He promised to issue the power of attorney to us within 2 working days depending on the day payment is made for the official duty and stamp fee of $1,950 for the processing of the papers. He later told me that I should come and see him with any kind of present that I feel is good enough to thank him for the help he gave to me immediately after the issue of the document and the box been transferred to my foreign friend and I promised him in confidence that I will come to see him immediately the box is transferred to my foreign partner.
Please dearest Beloved Dick, I need your urgent assistance so that the power of attorney will be issue on our behalf. I am very worried here. Please I do not have enough money at hand. I have only $600 and all my hope is in the fund that my late father deposited in the group 4 security diplomatic security company safe keeping custody. Please send $1,350 to the lawyer to complete the money for the document. I am counting so much on you. I will go and give him the $600 I have on Monday.
Please contact the lawyer and asked him how far we have gone. He is a kind man.
Thanks and God you.
Yours truly,
Valerie.
Dear Valerie,
I got your letter. It's good to know that you trust this man. I suppose I can work with him, although I must say it sounds suspicious that the security company sent you to their own lawyer. What is to be done, I suppose?
I am a very wealthy man, but this is my first international business transaction. Possum ranching has given me a wonderful life, but it does not ever require me to leave Texas. How should I pay this 1,350? I have never done an international transaction before. Let me know what to do.
I would rather send you the money instead of the lawyer. I'll just give it to you and then you can pay for us. I'm a bit old and I get confused dealing with all of these different companies and people. I prefer just dealing with my sweet Valerie, who I know I can trust.
Write back and let me know how to send you the money!
Dick
Dearest Dick,
How are you today and happy sunday? I hope you are ok, if so thank and glory be to almighty God. Yesterday I sent you an e-mail concerning how I went to the lawyers office and how he took me to the authorizing office that uses to issue the documents.
Please if you received the e-mail I sent to you yesterday I am still waiting for your respond so that the lawyer barrister Frank is willing to help us.
I am looking forward to hearing from you as soon as you can.
Thanks and God bless you.
Yours truly,
Valerie.
Dearest Beloved Dick,
Thanks for your e-mail. I am happy to hear from you today, how was your week-end?
As I explained to you in my previous e-mail, the lawyer is a very good man. He drove me with his car to the authorized office without asking me for any fee so we have to be afraid of nothing. I can go with him to the authorized office to make the payment, is it okay?
You can send the money through western union or money gram with my name.
Valerie Obana
Country Cote d棚voire / Ivory Coast
Please as soon as you send the money send the information to me and immediately I receive the money I will go straight to the lawyer and give it to him so that he will get the documents for us. According to what the told us in the authorized office I think if we can pay them tomorrow they will issue us the document before Thursday. I think by first week of September the g4s company will transfer the box to your care in usa.
I am very happy as I will be joining you over there in usa soon.
Once more thanks and God bless you. May I ask you a question? Please can you tell me about your family?
I am looking forward to hear from you as soon as you can.
Yours truly,
Valerie

I thought about keeping it going, but I just let it trail off. I get tons of these at my work address, I might do it again. I forwarded the original to a gmail account that I set up to screw with "her".

Scams almost always involve Western Union. On ebay, they tell you that ebay is secure, but you're sunk once you go to Western Union and emails off-line.

That scam is epic, I had read it before. I kinda wish I had the time and patience to pull something like that off.
The guys on 419 eater seem to treat it like their job. For every one they get that turns out great, they do 10 that produce nothing. This is the first and only time I tried to do it.
