Here in Garland, we are shocked, surprised and extraordinarily happy with South Garland's victory over the Hobos.

Way to go Colonels! Good luck against the Wildcats (although I'll root for LH because my nephew plays for them...)

No doubt about it. SG over Longview. The Lobo Fans had convinced me that Longview had a team capable of winning it all.

I called 3 of those 6 shockers, so I'll go with South Garland over Longview.

well its plain to see that almost every team in 12-5A was overrated. I mean if they have two choices in the poll.

Tyler Lee- Preseason overrated
Longview- Overrated
John Tyler- Overrated
Rockwall- Overrated after taking Longview to the wire many said this team would be "force" in D1. They did not make the playoffs.

Honestly none of these game were shockers for me. While I did expect Longview to win, I said South Garland could surprise :D . And Garland and Tyler John Tyler , I dont think was so much as shocker as more of a toss up to me.

SGvsLV by far was the biggest shocker !!! Who thought a soph. QB could perform like that ? And he's got a few more yrs. to get only better.Congrats to South Garland

U know whats the only thing that actually SHOCKED me, is Harker Heights being able to score as much as they did and take it in to overtime vs. Lufkin. But a credit to the Lufkin program that they were able to get the W.

although I voted for the Longview vs. South Garland upset, I think that because of that shocker it overshadowed a slightly smaller shocker of Strake over FB Marshall

I was not shocked when Garland beat John Tyler because Garland is a good team as well John Tyler but the part I was shocked when Garland came back up in 4th Quarter when it was 20-7 John Tyler. Congrats on Garland beating one of the best defense in State John Tyler.

When you take into account the 7 DI prospects for FB Marshall and the size of the Strake team, with many going both ways, I had to say this was a bigger shocker. Especially to FB Marshall who came into the game with it marked as a win and were looking to the next round. Marshall was avaeraging 450 yds offense. They only attained 350. Strake played a very good game to stay alive. Their first UIL playoff and first playoff win.
I was shocked about the Longview loss since their posters were blowing their own horn here so much! Playoffs shut a lot of people up!!

Big shocker would be 12-5A not winning a single game during week 1. ;)

the fact that one of the "other" 24-5a teams did something is incrediable.

biggest upset is garland over longview just because of the impact its goning to have on the rest of the playoffs

That's what I'm saying....to win a game that you led 10-7 is one thing, but to be losing 20-7 then come back in the 4th quarter to win 21-20 is awesome....and very hard to do, especially in the playoffs!

Garland is still a team that hasn't played it's best football, yet. They have much more to bring to the table....I look forward to the Dallas Carter vs Garland: Part 2 game!!!

Go Garland, South Garland and (Garland) Rowlett!!!!!!!!!!
