Just curious......but after seeing the box score....is this the greatest exhibtition by an offense and defense ever for tx high school football...????

That was as dominant a performance as I have ever seen.......

McElroy was 21-25 while he played..the starting D shut out I-mac..it was a good start for the Dragons..lots of good teams left in D-2...

the first half domination of imac was similar to how we dominated lp last year. very strong performance against a previously highly ranked team gives one a glimpse of what might be. similar efforts for the next five weeks should carry us far. allen is a team we know well and will give us their best. it won't be nearly enough, however.

SLC did what they always do to teams that have tried to copy them but don't have the discipline and athleticism to match. The true test for SLC will come when they play a team that isn't intimidated by them and wants to run a truly balanced offense that also has a stellar defense. There are at least 4 teams in the state that have these qualities. Unfortunately, 2 of those are in Div. 1.

Lufkin, Katy, Smithson Valley, Abilene and others make the D-2 route the toughest once again....even without Longview....

And the other 2 would be?

If Euless Trinity is one of your 4 teams that poseess these needed qualities, then I have some ocean front property back in Iowa I'd like to show ya. No disrespect ET, but if ET beat IM by a td, SLC would beat ya by 2td's.

The two best D1 teams are in R3 and one of them will be going home this weekend.

The 4 teams capable of beating SLC this year are Spring Westfield, Northshore, Katy and Smithson Valley. In my opinion, the Dragons will only face a serious threat to repeating as champs in the state's final game.

That being said, I think the two Reg. 3, Div. 1 teams are capable of truly exposing SLC and won't have the chance. Blame the 2 champ system for this mess.

you could say that about any team

for example: no region 2 team will face a challenge until they face lufkin

ET did not dominate I-Mac the way SLC did, however ET is better than a TD when compared to I-MAC. Trinity ran the clock out with the ball inside the Cardinal 5, they also dropped a easy pass in the endzone as well as another on a trick play. ET put up over 500 yards rushing on I-Mac and should have won by at least 2 TD's had the not kneeled the ball or if the receivers hold onto the football they win by 4TD's.
ET is very capable of winning the D1 state title. Not one team has shown the ability to shut down their offense. I think many are not giving SGP enough credit for their win over ET, ET will give NS or WF a very good football game for the D1 state championship.

The Carroll offense I saw last night was as impressive as I have ever seen. I dont think any team in the state could expose this offense. They are going to get their points and shut down many team along the way. The most impressive thing about the Carroll game last night was how they dominated on both sides of the ball, if htey play that way the next 5 weeks I dont see anyone coming within 3 TD's of them. They looked that good.

I-Mac would make several teams around the state look THAT good. When I said "exposed," I meant the defense. I believe the SLC defense is great at stopping the spread, and therefore the Dragons will not be defeated by another spread team. Their weakness, in my opinion, is defending a balanced attack (leaning on the run) that can hit them in the mouth and move the ball through and around them.

Northshore and Westfield have the ability to run the ball down their opposition's throat. Both teams also have the ability to pass when they have to. ET is a great power offense that would definitely move the ball and score on the Dragon defense. However, ET does not have a stellar defense. The other teams in this area will continue to make SLC look THAT good because of the way their teams play. It takes a different approach to beat the Dragons, one they will only face in the finals (potentially).

SLC certainly has a great offense and good defense, but already predicting a 3 TD advantage over the rest of the state is a large stretch in my opinion.

This Defense is looking better and better each week. The secondary is playing real good right now. The D-Line is getting pressure and disrupting. And you know the L-Backers are going to show up every game. Thats just how they play.

On Offense - McElroy is unstoppable. Thats all it is.

Special Teams - Murrrryyyyy

If you think SLC looked good this past week, just wait for this next game. I predict total dominance v. Allen.

I agree. It should be embarrasing.

But you know how these things go. They can't be worse then G-Vine, and we almost lost that one.

I-Mac was 9-1 and went through the toghest district in the DFW metroplex. So to say I-Mac would make a lot of teams look good is laughable at best.
The Carroll D is one of the best defenses in the state. This is the best defense Carroll has fielded since they moved up to 5A. Many dont give this defense enough credit because of the explosiveness of the offense. The fact that the Carroll 1st string did not allow a single point last night shows how dominating they can be. It has been something they have done all year, the second and third string defense is what is giving up most of the points. The way this offense is clicking to go along with a dominating defense is what makes me believe that if they play every game like they did the 1st half last night, then yes they will beat every team by 3+ TD's. In all my years of watching HS football, that was the most dominating performance I have ever seen.

You are right about SV and Katy being the only capable in D2(right now at least). They are the only ones who have figured out SLC (as you can see from there games against them with Katy winning and SV getting as close as you can)

Mac has been less than dominating in their games. Yes they won 9 games but hardly a dominating team winning by 10 or less majority of the year. SLC should of rolled against MAC anything else would of been un Dragon like?

Blond hair thing looks awfully bad. I can't get eminem out of head. "My name is Slim Shady. :) How does Nate's soon feel about dying his hair blond? He looks like the back up singer from the 80's band General Public.

I dont care how impressive they have been in their wins. You dont win 9 games without being a good football team. I-Mac came in with one of the top defenses in the area and they got totally dominated.

We may need to agree to disagree here. I-Mac was not that good. The defense was not great. I knew after watching I-Mac play Trinity that SLC would beat either team.

You may be correct that SLC has its best defense in recent history. I still want to see them do something against an offense that wants to play physical and challenge them at the point of attack. I do not believe playing their schedule and playing in the metroplex gives them the experience they will need to shutdown a powerful offense that is both balanced and physical.
