I think it is now between Leinart and Vince. Of course, I still contend that Bush and Leinart will split enough votes to give Vince the award.
Over the past two games...
Reggie Bush
Rushing: 29 carries for 195 yards and 1 TD
Receiving: 5 catches for 31 yards
Kick returns: 1 return for 15 yards
Punt retruns: 1 return for 6 yards
Totals: 247 yards and 1 TD
Matt Leinart
Passing: 44 of 60 for 505 yards, 4 TDs to 1 INT
Leinart has also added 2 rushing TDs on 6 carries for 2 yards
Totals: 507 total yards and 6 TDs with 1 take away
Vince Young
Passing: 35 of 54 for 579 yards, 6 TDs to 0 INTs
Vince has also added 47 rushing yards on 14 carries
Totals: 626 yards and 6 TDs with 0 take aways
It looks to me like this is gonna come down to Vince vs. Matt.

One stat that people do not realize is that Vince leads the NCAA in plays over 40 yards. I think he has something like 20 while Bush and Leinart do not even combine for that many

Vince Young should win the Heisman... The only thing that would keep him from winning it is two bad game against Tx A&M & Big-12 Title game.
If he comes out and has just slightly above average games he should probably win it.

Here is something to compare Reggie Bush's numbers to...
Reggie Bush: 247 total yards and 1 TD
Ramonce Taylor: 267 yards and 6 TDs
Both players split time at RB, but both have had almost the same number of touches... 36 for Bush and 34 for Taylor.

Ya... nobody is going to tell me that Reggie Bush is really any better "overall" then Ramonce Taylor. I think the both of them are very similiar overall.
I know that many of the press reporters and ect would tell me that I'm insane. But, I think the both of them are pretty similiar.

Up until recently, Ramonce hasnt been getting the kind of touches that Bush has so it has been impossible to compare them, but now, Texas has started using Ramonce much like USC uses Bush and I think we are starting to see that Ramonce can be just as effective, if not more effective than Bush when given the touches.

but what about the schedule? has usc had tougher teams to face than texas. because if they have, then that could be a deciding factor.

USC has played terrible defenses the entire year. I don't know the numbers, but the Pac 10 is terrible in defense. I don't think that they have a single team ranked in the top 25 of total defense.
Also Reggie Bush is only mediocre in punt returns. He has one punt return touchdown and is currently ranked 40th in punt return average. He is ranked 100th in kick return average. I thought these were the things that he was supposed to be good at.

you know im also sick of hearing that there is any "knock" at all on Vince's passing. hes second in the nation in pass eff, i mean how on earth does that raise questions aboout his passing. the only thing that could be a knock on VY is the fact that some sportswriters dont like UT for whatever reason...
