Which of the 6-5A champions is the strongest. After the scores and events that I have seen since their playoff games with 5-5A, I would have to say that all the teams are about on par with Denton Ryan. Besides the late run the scores for the Carroll vs. Mac game are close to the Carroll vs. Denton Ryan. Denton Ryan took SGP all the way to overtime and lost on an interception for a touchdown. Denton Ryan and SGP are on par. Trinity beat an alright Fossil Ridge team by 15 in their first playoff game in a few years. This is the same Trinity team that played Mac close (7 pts.) and lost in a close one to SGP. I think that it is safe to say that all of those teams are pretty equal. So out of all the teams in 6-5A which do you think is the best and why.

Fossil Ridge was decent but Trinity could've blew em out by more if they wanted to. I thought it was a classy thing though to let the final 5 minutes run out. DR was on par with SGP but SGP had the better overall team if they had called a few plays differently that could of been a blow out. In other words DR almost out coached them. The offense didn't even touch the field for them to get back into the game. It's hard it's either SGP or Euless. Carroll would probably beat all three though they just made the Cardinals look silly tonight.

I was not able to be there and that is why I want know who you guys think is the best team in that district. It is so rare to have three 9-1 teams tied at the top of the standings and 2 of 3 beat district 5-5A. The scores comparison made me think that they were all on the same level as Denton Ryan, but that is all I have.

I would like to let everybody know that this is not a "what would carroll do" thread. I really just want to know the opinion of everybody that was there in regards who was the best 6-5A team

I believe SGP, IMac,DR & Fridge could be thrown in the same ring and anyone could emerge as the champion. Trinity & SLC were the true champs of 6-5A & 5-5A respectively. If you were to match SLC against Trinity, I believe SLC beats them pretty good. I do not believe Trinity is as good as everyone thought in week 7 or 8. Not a shot at Trinity at all, just my true opinion. IMac took Trinity to the wire at Irving Schools stadium. SLC absolutely dismantled IMac last night. IMac was never in the ball game. They were beaten soundly in all aspects of the game Saturday night. In SLC's mind, the game was over at 48-0. Back-ups & very uninspired play gave IMAC 21 points. If SLC would not have called of the dogs, I don't thing IMac would have scored.

I think theres a misconception about the trinity/mac by some who didnt attend. We were up 17-0 early and 17-7 at the half. Yeah Mac made a spirited comeback on their senior night, but they never lead. A completed half back pass its 38 pts. And unlike sum other coaches their was certainly an opportunity for Coach Lineweaver to pad the margin of victory with a late score as well against Fossil Ridge, but he doesnt even consider that as options.

I heard that Trinity kneeled down inside the 5 in their game against Mac and could have easily put up another 7 points. Is that true? Also if Trinity had played Mac before SGP do you think that Trinity still would have won and do you think that Trinity would have beaten SGP the next week?

Yeah and in the Fossil Ridge game I think it was like on the 1 when they jus ran out the clock. But Ill tell u the honest truth Coach Lineweaver's message right now is just to continue to get better and minimize mistakes. We had way to many penalties and sloppy plays yesterday.

After playing all 3 teams, I don't think its IMAC because their win over SGP was 3 points and we came within 4, they won each game by a touchdown or less. I think SGP was stronger than Trinity, not only because they beat them but also when playing them SGP absolutely suffocated us on defense and had a decent offense. Trinity while having a better offense was much weaker on defense and lucked out a lot as we moved inside their 35 5 or 6 times but could not score. SGP has the better athletes and the head to head victory so I say them.

Im also gonna be honest the team got a little caught up by the impressive 8-0 start. They didnt have to finish games, and what people dont understand, is that because of the physical nature of Trinity sum teams have chosen not even to go head up with the Trinity offense. Sum opponents simply go to the ground to hopefully create a pile up. As for SGP it was the exact thing we needed, Coach Lineweaver has had no trouble get their full attention since. The sneaky thing about SGP is they r one of those teams u c every year that has plenty of talent, but the effort sum times can be suspect. They can play with anybody when they feel they have to, however I could just as easily see them go down to a team they dont take as seriously. I would have to say MacArthur was the least talented of the 3, only because the lost so much from a good team the year before. But in the regular season the played with so much HEART, which made the Dragon's whipping so much more surprising.
