Constructive criticism: While it is a good video, with no down time, it is so easy to pan over to the scoreboard every once in a while, showing the time and score. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Wow 16,000 in a 7,000 2A stadium with additional seating.
Suprised the Fire Marshal allowed this?

Clark field can't hold 16K. Allen's dinky double wide can maybe squeeze in 11K maybe.

Whew, I thought you were gonna complain about showing the bands/drill teams for a few seconds... :D
Point well taken. Being so wrapped up in the game it's hard to remember the perspective of those not at the game. It took a couple folks asking which team was which before I started identifying the uniforms for the two teams.

Yes it is possible for more than 16K to have attended that game. The following information is posted on the Old Coach (keep in mind - this is dated information , no doubt several years old, Allen now has a white A instead of the Blue one mentioned in this previously posted online article):
Stadium Review: Allen Eagle Stadium

Eagle Stadium
Allen, TX
From US 75, go north into Allen and exit McDermott. Go about 1 mile east on McDermott past Greenville Avenue and Jupiter. The Stadium is behind the old high school, current Freshman Center. Parking can be found around the stadium or in the adjacent neighborhood and shopping centers.
Home Team: Allen
Parking/Traffic: Score -- 1
Allen's enormous growth and new high school left one thing out -- a new stadium. In 2002, Eagle Stadium was home to its biggest game in its history. Plano East vs. Allen. Nearly 16,500 people showed up for a stadium that holds 10,000 on a good day. The problem resurfaced this year when a similar crowd arrived for the 2006 battle between the teams. Parking is equivilant to that at a 3A school. Arriving an hour early was a must for this game. Although it may be able to handle the traffic of lower tier teams, now that Allen is a big dog, it needs parking and traffic control (and a stadium) to match.
Press Box/Scouts: Score -- 2
I have never been in the press box of this stadium - I have seen it through binoculars and second hand reports. Todd Wills of the Dallas Morning News reported that it was a loud and not so friendly place to get work done with the Allen ISD crew loudly cheering on their team - it is an infectious crowd, so that doesn't blame me. It is very small though and scouts are often littered in the visitor side press box and relegated to what area is left in the stands.
Field: Score -- 8
You know whose stadium you are at when you look at the field. The Big Blue and White adorn the endzones with the Bluescarlet A on the 50 yard line to give Allen a definite home field advantage. The field is playable. Nothing special but nothing bad. The field is one of only two or three like it in the world - and it plays very well and all-use field that holds up to many games, soccer and football, subvarsity and otherwise, being played on it yearly.
Atmosphere: Score -- 9
For what the stadium is lacking, it makes up for in atmosphere. A true one high school town, after griping about the parking and being squeezed into the stands, you certainly enjoy the small town atmosphere that you don't get in many 5A games. The Allen student section is renowned for its enthusiasm. The biggest weekly marching band in the state loudly and proudly plays March Grandioso. You get a 3A stadium with 4A enthusiasm and 5A crowd size and football talent. A great combination. Being honest, the stadium issue only comes up maybe twice a year and I'm sure the facility holds 100-150 events minimum per year. But considering everything else is on a larger scale in Allen, it is safe to say a football stadium will fall in line at some point in the next 10-15 years.
Intangibles: Score -- 7
Unlike cookie cutter fields in the former District 9-5A with John Clark Field, Wildcat-Ram Stadium and Eagle-Mustang Stadium, Allen's stadium is distinctive and unique. It is the only field if shown an aerial shot you can clearly distinguish from others. It may be old and outdated, but once you get past the issues, it's a great place to watch football.
Overall Score: 27
42-50 -- Worth seeing the stadium even if two 0-10 schools are playing. Everyone should visit this stadium as soon as possible. Look for a JV game if you have to to see a game.
34-41 -- An excellent stadium. The only way that this stadium could be better is if you had a good game playing.
26-33 -- An average football stadium. If you're in the neighborhood and a team you're scouting is playing, this is the stadium for you.
20-25 -- Parents of band, football players and drill teams would enjoy the game, but only because of parental pride.
Under 20 -- Time to ask the school district for a bond election.

I always leave right at the end of the 4th quarter at Wylie, and am always out within 20 minutes. Kimbrough takes about 20 minutes as well. Clark is the one that takes the longest... but never more than 30 minutes.

I got to the game plenty early and parked in the lot on the south end of the field. Some traffic officers would have been nice to make that turn off McDermott a little easier, but they were there after the game and we got out quite easily.
The seating on the visitor side was very cramped but mixing the home fans in with the visiting fans just doesn't seem right.
As far as the pressbox comment, I think you may need to visit Pennington.

Yeah $65 million had better buy a flippin Huge house with gold plated toilets!!
I sure hope they keep the small stadium feel. I would love to have a place that did not have a track so the stands are closer to the field. Steep stands that surround the stadium. If they don't want to put stands all around the stadium then at lease close off one end of the field like Mesquite Memorial. Leave an opening so the band can do a march in from the practice field too. Ala - Ohio State.
I want bathroom attendants that will hand out towels and have an array of colgnes to choose from. I want bench seats with contoured seat backs. I also want seperate visitor parking and seating seperated be a big chain link fence topped with razor wire so we don't have to mingle with the visitors or even have the possibility of them getting to our side.
I wanna have a real cannon for touchdowns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq2CLgNBK6k)and a ship horn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiWNw0A1Ijg)when we get tired of the cannon. :D

The stadium didn't bother me. It has character and a lot of atmosphere. I can't stand the new megastadiums. Maybe you should take up a collection from all the whiners who visit there once a year and complain. You could probably raise enough money without a bond election.

Nice homer side of things. Those of us lucky enough to be Westfield fans just grin and bear it on our stadium that drips of Green and Black (Spring High colors... heck, it's on their campus), with a smattering of Red and Black (Westfield colors)... and then see the 2nd-class way that Dekaney is treated w/o their name on anything in the stadium. The district even replaced the turf last offseason and couldn't find it in their hearts to put Dekaney's name ANYWHERE. One end-zone has "LIONS", the other has "MUSTANGS". Wildcats... nada!

I can't imagine that the entire bond would go to the stadium. Denton spent $21 million for theirs (12,000 seats), Round Rock $20.5 (11,000). A listing by the Dallas Morning New showed 15 Texas high school stadiums as recently completed or nearing completion for a total price tag of $179.2 - an average of $11.9 million apiece. How can you spend $60 million....?
