Longview fans, you're fired!

That's right, I'm firing the Longview fans. This is coming from a Lobo fan that can't go to the games. I'm tired of reading about how great the Lobos are every year and then they fold in the playoffs. I know you're proud of the team and want to believe they're going to do good, but we need the truth and that's not coming out. You say one thing and the complete opposite is true. You just lost a game that you were favored to win by 23-27 points.

I want to believe what you say, but you guys are like the boy that cries wolf. From now on, expect to have a lot of people around here say, "Show me that you're any good because we don't believe you." You guys are going to catch a lot of grief if you trash talk next year. I should be around for most of the season and maybe the whole season next year and I'll give you my opinion of the team if I can make some of the games.

I don't want to implicate the whole pack of fans, because some were more cautious than others. I know not all of you were alike in what you predicted for the team and said about other teams.

I want them to beat you guys bad, but they just don't have it in them. I say quite a bit that they need better talent than Lufkin because you have the better coach. Both you guys played bad today, but you won and that's a credit to your program. What makes me so upset is that the Lobos are wasting good talent with early round losses.

Longview got beat by a team that will be out of the playoffs in the next 2 weeks.

More and more I think there's a huge gap between teams that can win in October and the one's that can win in November and December. Longview is not a November team, but Lufkin is.

No argument there. Yes Lufkin did play bad today and were very very lucky! It will be kind of interesting to see what happens during the off season up there.

Yeah according to myround. Bleedgreen was a cool fan though. He kept it real. There are a few others that said Lufkin was "average at best" at the beginning of the season or that without Lane we would not have a good offense. We could lose next week and could of lost this week but we didn't. We managed to pull out a W. I would rather have an "Average at Best" team win a game in OT 31-24 to a 6-4(now 6-5) HH team and have an 11-0 record then have an "Unstoppable State Ranked" team that lost to a 6-4(now 7-4)SG and will be sitting at home next week. I am not directing this to all Longview fans because there are so many respectable ones out there. There are certain ones that wish they would not have talked so much smack about Lufkin because now they have been humbled. I know it could have been us today but it wasn't. It could be us losing next week because anything is possible. To all the respectable fans I am sorry that your team lost.

In the 4th QT LV was at the SG 10 or 12 yrd with a 2nd and 2, next play up the middle for no gain, 3rd and 2 QB KEEP AGAIN NO GAIN, Then what ended the season and possibly a good run at the state title a field goal was missed from about the 20yd with 49 seconds left. FAR FAR RIGHT I THINK THE BALL HIT THE TUBA PLAYER IN THE STANDS ON THAT SIDE OF THE FIELD. Coaching was horrible too too too many penalties.

Don,t feel to bad ,somebody had to win, and I know it,s tough to loose one like that.Some of these fans that,s ribbing you will taste defeat later. I feel for that kicker - hate to see that. I'm not gonna diss LV - but they do seem to not highlight their talent - McGee should have carried a bazillion times this year. And Malcolm Kelly was rarely used last year. Use your talent gang - they only have so many games to play.

Longview - Over Rated and Season Over. (www.texashsfootball.com actually had Longview ranked #1). The Lobo fans almost had me believing their team was real contender this year. Ah well I think this now 79 years since a State Championship for Longview. These next 10 months (still the start of next season) are going to a long 10 months for Lobo Fans.

That's a real good post. Thanks for being that way. I know how it feels to lose one that you don't expect to lose. I want the Lobos to win, but it's not the same for me because I'm not there each week. It wasn't the same for me and Judson this year just because I'm deployed.

Hey, the fans needed it too since they had all our hopes up. I'm upset over this. I heard all year how good they were and wanted them to win state and they lose a game they were supposed to win by 3-4 TD's. I just wanted a Longview fan to know and say they really might not have what it takes to win in the playoffs. Maybe they don't know. They've seen JT, Lee, and Lufkin win titles, but it's still different when you watch the team each week and then can judge if the team is good enough for a title.

Yeah, Longview needs a new coach if they're going to do something in the playoffs. They have talent and still don't win anything.

First of all, thank you Lobos for another season of excitement and 11 games of great football. I am apalled at some other fans on here who are being so rude about our loss to South Garland. I wasn't able to make it to the game, but I did talk to a few people who were there. Even though there may have been some questionable calls, we still should have made that kick at the end, or at least converted the 3rd and 1 inside the ten. However, we didn't and we will be sitting home for the next 5 weeks like we deserve. Another year goes by where we have all this potential, but nothing comes but a first round exit. I do not mean to sound too critical of the coaches by any means, because I wasn't at the game. I'm just another let down, upset fan who hoped for more.

I take Longview playoff losses hard, and it makes me even sicker when I come on here and read some of the flat out rude posts. Oh well, I cant change what ya'll have to say. I will shift my attention and route for the East Texas teams remaining: Lufkin, Marshall, and Kilgore all seem to have a legit shot winning it all. Anyways, I'll continue to come on this board day in and day out as I have done. I seem to be rambling, so I'll end this post with another Thank You to the Longview staff and players for an entertaining year.

handed the Garland Owls a thrashing, that Garland team rolled over everyone in the regular season and everyone had realistic high hopes of good run. So my uh...condolences. :(

Believe me, whenever Lufkin and Longview play they BOTH do their share of trash talking. When I am at a football game, I am always very courteous to the opposing fans because I want them to think well of my school. Last year after we lost to Lufkin and we were walking out, I said, "That was a good game, ya'll have another good team it looks like and good luck next week." The lady looked at me and after I finished talking she turned her head and kept walking and it was obvious she had heard what I said. I dont let this affect my opinion of Lufkin fans at all. I just wanted to let you know, it goes on on both side of the field.
