Kingwood vs. Eisenhower 9/27 @ Thorne

I think this should be a very tight game. Thoughts?

This is tough.. here is whats going into this game.

1. Kingwood has been off for two weeks without practice and games...in an offense that needs Reps to be successful.

2. Ike has looked sloppy, with two weeks off...this doesn't help matters.

3. Kingwood has a history with IKE, and for those familar with the program...they hate IKE about as much as they hate Humble (almost). IKE has ended kingwood's playoff runs several times, and knocked them out of contention for the playoff spots over their two histories.

If Kingwood's going to win, they need to: Get up for this game as if they were going to play Humble. Because ultimatley it is IKE, Humble, Kingwood in this district...and Knocking off IKE sets you up with only one more giant to kill. Kingwood will have to execute to perfection on saturday night...if not, they will not win this game. Kingwood has been good around this time of the year (Week 4), but they haven't had the reps needed to be as good as they like. So execution on the offensive side of the ball is CRITICAL. Kingwood will slow this game down to take IKE's athleticism factor out of the game. The fact that they don't throw the ball really helps them as well. Craig Loston will have to play the run, and honestly...it isn't his strength.

If IKE wants to win: They will HAVE to score early, and play disciplined football early....Comebacks against Kingwood are improbable because of the time guzzling offensive scheme..


In all reality, i have been very disappointed with IKE...and i love watching them play football...But my Gut says kingwood takes this one in a tight one.

I agree 100%...
Alot of my friends from Humble tell me that although Kingwood is far from athletic(and I mean far except for the 6'5 reciever) their offense put you to sleep and when you finally wake up you realize you're losing the game.

Humble 14 Aldine 7 Humble... Aldine will see the Humble defense that shut down Cy-Ridge. Expect DT Lamarc Strahan to dominate who ever stands in his way.

Atascocita 35 MacArthur 7... Dean Colbert finally knows how to use the talent Atascocita always had. The only problem is he need to find a way to get WR Quentin Parks the ball and expect Xzavier Jackson to show why some call him his year's Terrence Robinson.

Big Plays by number 5 running back and one of the receivers early led to Kingwood defeat. Kingwood did move the ball but everytime it looked promising, number 5 would break a long run. Lots of missed tackles but maybe it had to do with the skills of the RB for Ike.

Humble and Ike will fight for the upper hand in district play next week. Should be a classic Humble-IKE match up
