SWISH, SWISH, SWISH. 26-5A sweep.
So much for the so-called top three 5A defensive teams in SA area.
26-5A outscores 25-5A: 105 to 33

Not real hard to call, 26-5a proved once again who has the toughest districts in the city. Way to go 26-5a, lets keep it going for a few more weeks.

Yes I did only a very late TD kept your prediction right, still not much offense for Judson that will only haunt them later.

O where O where are you Seguin Mattador? You ran your mouth about Judson all week but yet you have not been back on to talk about the game. I think you really found out who has the best defense in the city last night. I will give your defense some props, but you just came up against a better team as all of 26-5a is. Your true wish should be for Judson, Wagner and Sv to put in your district next year, now won't that be fun. I always said Judson would win, because they are Judson. I do not think they will go farther then the Semi's so I do not want you to say that we are cocky, but beating you has already made my season.

I have to hand it to all the teams in 26-5A for sweeping !! I must, however, stick my foot in my mouth because I did say that I thought Clemens would beat Madison. Clemens picked the wrong week to play their worst game of the season - not to take anything away from Madison though. Again, congrats to 26-5A !! So much for all the claims from 25-5A about great defense and the Seguin curse etc.. 25-5A combined to give up 105 points in Round 1 !! Ouch !!

It is the best district in the state. I bet they have the best power rating as a district when they update the power ratings website. Calpreps has SV at 41, Madison at 57, and Judson 165 in the U.S. and moving up fast. The Rockets should be back in the top 100 after next week.

No they didn't all reach the quarterfinals:
Tyler Lee D1 champs and 5-0 in the playoffs.
Longview and Mesquite 2-1 each and out in the Regional round.
That's 9-2 overall.
SV 5-1 and lost title game.
Judson 3-1 and lost in semis.
Madison 1-1 and out in Round 2.
We went 9-3 overall.
You're a little bit better this year, but your complete disregard for other areas of the state is repulsive. There's no need to crack on Region 4 to make yourself feel better about East Texas. 26 should get 3 teams to the quarterfinals and 2 to the semis this year.

Hey, it happens. Judson played 1 bad game and it got them knocked out last year. Clemens was not as bad this year as last night, but they sure weren't as good as all the fans thought they were, either. You have guys like me around who try to bring balance to the situation. All the power ratings are universal in saying that Reagan is the best team in the STATE to miss the playoffs. Everybody in the district is in the top 80 teams in 5A except Lee. 96 teams make the playoffs! :D
I think Reagan, Churchill, and MacArthur would've make the playoffs in at least 2/3 of the districts if one of the 3 moved elsewhere.

In fact, I'll give the districts:
32 Brownsville
31 Edinburg
30 McAllen
29 Laredo
28 Corpus
27 San Antonio
25 Clemens
24 Houston
23 Houston
22 Beaumont (Maybe 3rd)
21 Houston
20 Ft. Bend
19 Katy
18 Aldine
17 Cy guys
16 Austin
15 N. Austin (3rd place)
14 N. Houston
13 Centex
12 Mesquite
11 Garland (Maybe not)
10 E. Dallas
9 Dallas
8 N. Dallas
7 Arlington
6 Tarrant (Not this year)
5 SLC (Not 1st place)
4 Ft. Worth
3 Little SWC
2 Amarillo
1 El Paso
One of those 3 teams would be a definite playoff team in almost every district and you can count on 1 hand the number of districts they wouldn't make the playoffs in.

I know some of you guys came on here and were cool about things, but a lot didn't come back. The final picture in everybody's mind is that you as a district group didn't post NEARLY as much after the games as you did all week. Ur prolly right, but I hate it that Clemens backs who ever reigns in Reg IV - it seems as though the same is not reciprecated. Clemens went deep a couple of years back and I did not see the same love. I know when we were in 4a - we wanted JR to take state in 5-a - we are neighbors and alot work together. Maybe it's better that Clemens is in 4a and JR is in 5 - the only way we can get along!

That aint no joke! We just purchase a new home PC and couldn't beleive what you can get for under $1,000.00! 250g, 1024m ram, dual drive, flat panel, etc.! Sorry I wasn't here to eat my crow after the game. I was pretty upset after the game. It sucked a lot so I decieded to make my self feel better by going to college station this weekend to hang out with some old buddies.
As far as Judson, yes they were the better team. I would love to see us in a district with those teams next year. Seguin is only losing one player I would call a key player this year. I am super excited about next years team.

26-5A sweeps 25-5A, enough said. Now we have 27-5A. Judson vs. O'Connor, Madison vs. Clark, Smithson Valley vs. Jay. There should be two pretty decent match-ups in these three games. Judson vs. O'Connor or Tradition vs. Youth, Smithson Valley vs. Jay or Discipline vs. Athletiscm. Madison will spank Clark. Judson vs O'Connor will be a good low scoring matchup with the youth of O'Connor going up against Tradition. Judson has won many games on tradition and if they can score 21 points should be ok vs. O'Connor. Smithson Valley will beat Jay just because they will make far fewer mistakes. Another sweep by 26-5a? 25-5A, I will not kick you while you are down. Better luck next year. I hope you are redistricted where you will be tested before the playoffs so that you are ready for the playoffs. Seguinmatador thank you for keeping your word and putting me in your signature. I attended the Madison/Clemens game Friday. Can't asy I was overly impressed with the Buffs. I knew waht to expect from Madison, a whole lotta CAFLISCH. It just seemed the Buffs offense wasn't willing to try something different once they got behind. There was no way they were going to run against Madison, and when they tried to throw long, well lets just say that failed miserably. The Clemens fans in front of me were certainly bewildered as their team got further behind. They got meaner as the game wore on and blamed everyone from the refs, to the coaches and then the players. Madison put on quite a display Friday nite and should go far. Congrats to Coach Streety and the team.

I don't think we do have anything to run it about! How often has 27 beat 26? Not very many, and in the playoffs, probably even less. I've been around OC Football for 4 years, well 7 if you count when I was there, but I never really paid attention to it. I just recently started because my brother was moved to Varsity his freshman year. But in those 4 years not too many 27 teams have beat the 26 teams (OC I think has beaten Churchill out of 26 and thats it). I do think though if Judson loses to OC (which is unlikely) It will be like little brother beating big brother, and probably a start to a new playoff rivalry. Especially if Judson and OC start to meet every year, which isn't too unlikely.

Well I am sad that SC lost, my little bro played LB for them and I wasnt able to go see any of his games live this year - was hoping they woulda made it to thanksgiving, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Congrats to the 26-5 and good luck through the playoffs.
BTW, i gotta admit I was really surprised at the margin of victory that Mad. won by, considering the common opponent SM. Anyway, impressive win by the Mavs - hopefully they fare better than the nba mavericks. ;)

Back in the day it seems like we met Oconner every year in bi-district and they never did beat us. That's why two teams were put in the 5A playoffs originally so the NSISD could get a team past bi-district. I'm not saying that has any bearing on this year. I haven't seen OC play. Judson seems to be coming around, but only because they abandoned the spread and went back to the bread and butter. They still have some work to do if they even think they can play with the likes of NS and WF. Only time will tell.

You're right. I'm sorry. I got OC confused with Clark.
Might as well, Padron hasn't changed his playbook in forever, so they look identical in play calling, and like Clark back in the day, with Navy Blue and gold uniforms.

Taft beat Madison last year.
SV beat Taft last year.
SV beat Clark last year.
Judson beat O'Connor last year.
Clemens beat O'Connor in 2003.
Judson beat Clark in 2002.
Madison beat Marshall in 2002.
Taft beat Judson in 2001.
Madison beat Marshall in 2001.
Marshall beat Churchill in 2000.

Did they use to practically run the UIL because they were the same guys that got 2 champions after they got 2 playoff teams?
