I've got to say, there have been a lot of threads lately bashing teams and fans from schools after displays of bad sportsmanship at games around the state. I know this is a forum for people to discuss everything football. Unfortunately, sometimes that includes the bad side.

But, I've got to tip my hat to the players, teams, and fans from the schools here in 265a. For years now I've seen fans and players from teams like MacArthur, Judson, SV, Reagan, and Roosevelt come out to the Madison games. They wear their team polos or letterman jackets so its easy to pick them out. Frankly, its the only way to pick them out because they are there cheering just like everyone else. As a Madison fan and former player I'm wholeheartedly grateful for the way the teams in 265a have worked to form a community here in San Antonio.

I know this probably won't last as long as the threads where we tear eachother to bits, but it needed to be said. I'm real proud of all our guys. Goes to show what TXHSFB is really about.

i got to the Madison Johnson game about an hour before the game and some Madison fans had started a "Gator" in the South parking lot. They had some Orange and Blue banners posted on the back of their tracks so it was obvious who they were. As i walked with in about 30 yards of the group i noticed about 1/3 of the folks hanging out had Johnson Powder Blue on. Eating dogs and drinking sodas. I also was approached by a young man that offered me a free water and asked if i wanted to join the "Gator" he said it did not mater who i was for all are welcome. I had work to do and could not stop and i already had a water so i declined both. But it was nice to see the "NEISD neighborhood" coming together like that.

At Smithson Valley I know the parents, fans and players all wait outside the locker room and are always good about congratulating the other team on a fine game after the contest. Most of the time i guess it easy to do as SV usually wins but even in games where the Rangers have lost they are still there waiting to shake a players hand from the "Other Side"

Now it's not always all fun and games in the 265 but for the most part we don't see the torture some of the fans across the State are subject to on road games.
