Halftime Longview 10, SG 7. Lots of penalties for the Lobos and lots of homecooking by the officials. The Lobos seem to be splattered. Maybe they'll regroup at the half.

Aren't officials picked from neutral areas for these games? Or, do you mean homecooking in that the officials are from the spot where the game is being played? Isn't it a neutral field? Why the excuses?

Well, definatley a dissappointing season. Can't say I'm surprised. Good luck to all the other playoff teams including South Garland. Good game South Garland.

I meant dissappointing end to a great season. Another district title and ten more wins notched up. Time to start gearing up for next season. Go Lobos!

Did the Lobos miss a 21 yard fg with a minute left? Man that stinks - feel sorry for whoever botched that one - kicker, snapper, holder - bummer.
I'm as shocked as can be by this game - sorry to see the Lobos bow out so soon this year - great season, but early ending.

Hey, didn't I say the Lobos appeared to be splattered? I wasn't able to go to the game and I was listening on the radio and it truly seemed that the calls were a little one-sided in the first half - I didn't mean it as an excuse, because even IF the officials were calling it poorly - we have gone on to win in the past with poor officiating. Howerver; it wasn't the refs that missed opportunities and jumped offsides, etc. It was been a great season. The team had great talent, BUT it's done for now. Good luck to Lufkin, SG, etc. Thanks for a super fun season, LOBOS!

The Refs are pulled from a different region. The Refs at the JT/Garland game were from the SA area and I must say (even w\ Garland had no penalty yards) that the calls were terrible twice in the 1st half flags were thrown for a blatent penalty and then were picked back up and said "No Foul". I'ts just not what I'm used to seeing from refs in the DFW area.

I thought those "no calls" were odd, too, but its hard to complain about a crew who called zero (0) penalties against your team... :o

THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE, JUST A STATEMENT.
If you read the Dallas Morning News Article on the Longview, South Garland game, go back and read the last two paragraphs.
The reporter asked head coach John King about the officiating. He replied,"No comment. Put that in bold as the headline."
The fact that the reporter would even ask that question is telling. The fact that any head coach would respond that way is also very telling.

As great as the mighty Lobos (State Champs to BE) are, they should have dominated a team from Garland. After all, real football is only played in East Texas. Any time an East Texas team loses, it's a conspiracy by the officials. Everybody knows that. - duh -

No reason to be sarcastic. I simply stated what the DMN said in it's article. The words conspiracy cant be found in that thread. I wouldn't go far as to say conspiracy.
