Abilene (4-0)
Burleson (1-3)
FW Paschal (3-1)
Weatherford (0-4)
FW Haltom (0-4)
NRH Richland (4-0)
North Crowley (0-4)

this just makes 3-5A look awful....

but could Paschal be a legitimate contender in 3-5A to make the playoffs this year?

theyre one of 3 teams out of a 7 team district with a winning record, and 3 of those teams are yet to get their first win.

whens the last time Paschal made it to the playoffs?

The last time the Panthers made the postseason was either, 1994 or 1995.

But, at the same time, they're wins have come against Irving Nimitz, Arlington Sam Houston, and Fort Worth South Hills. But, you never know! They could very well end up in the postseason. I see them beating North Crowley and Haltom so far. I haven't seen enough of Burleson and Weatherford so, I can't call those games right now. I haven't seen Richland play, but, they've obviously improved just like Paschal has.

As for the Abilene Eagles, we all know that they don't need an introduction.

Just from comparing scores, Paschal should be favored over Weatherford this week. The 'Roos gave up 72 points to Arl. Lamar. I don't think Paschal will beat Burleson, but they are definately better than in years past. They could make the playoffs if they 3 out of the 4 teams besides Abilene & Richland. But until the teams actually start playing each other, it's hard to tell who is gonna step up after Abilene & Richland. Some teams improve a great deal over district play, while others fade away. I think Paschal will get at least one district win, maybe two.

Good for Pascal. They have been terrible for so long.

I remember Colleyville Heritage playing them on a Thursday night 6 to 8 years ago and I just felt sorry for the team and both fans that showed up.

after seeing weatherford for 3 years...and what theyve done so far this year...im gonna take Paschal in that one. if they can top haltom and north crowley then id say they have a pretty good shot at grabbing the 3rd or 4th spot

They made the playoffs three consecutive years in '93, '94 and '95, going 1 and out all three times. The last time that they actually WON a playoff game was way back in 1964.

Still, kudos to Paschal for their 3-1 start this season. It's been over 20 years since they had a start that good (possibly a lot longer) and they had come in to 2008 with a 26 game losing streak on their backs.

District 3-5A is going to be interesting every single week. Good luck to all the teams.

Are any of these schools good at other sports? I know North Crowley is great at basketball (defending state champs) and Richland has a 6'6'' kid that's going to Memphis, but what about these other teams? Are the baseball programs pretty good? Is there more time put into the girls athletic program or what?

3-5a, the jesuit of districts. the overall district should make most teams playing them look like world beaters. i, too, think they have a great chance of winning 3-4 district games(haltom, weatherford, and possibly n crowley and burleson). heck, every team but abilene is very beatable.
