After a heart breaking loss to 4A Top State contender Highland Park, Coppell (3-1) rolls tonight beating a weak stuggling Weatherford (0-4) 49 to 6 on Coppells Homecoming. Coppell held the Weatherfords offense to under 100 yards as a mostly second team Coppell offense compiled 550 yards of total offense. Jr. QB Hayden Hawk went 11 for 12, 3 TDs and 108 yeards in releaf for Sr. Standout Sr. QB Konnor Joplin who went 12-17 235 yards. It was a quite night on the ground for running back Okotcha, Evans who put out a season low 49 yards on 10 touches.

Coppell has been putting up a staggering 42.5 points a game, despite a loss to 4A #1 Highland Park. The Cowboys of Coppell take on Mansfield Summit next week in Mansfield before a bye week.

Weatherford was the perfect homecomming opponant. We can use all the pratice we can get to get ready for district.

HP's not number #1, Lake Travis is the defending champion and they beat HP!

No matter how you spin it....Good 5A teams do NOT lose to 4A. Look forward to seeing you in a district game in Oct.

Coppell will have a good game this week. Mansfield Summitt has a strong defense but a weak offense. It should be a good test for Coppell's offense who need a challenge before heading into district play. I think Coppell wins this game. Weatherford was not a very good team.

I am concerned Coppell will struggle in district. I think all the teams in district have more team speed and defensively are better. Coppell will try to outscore teams but they hasn't worked that well the last couple of years.

Yawn... Isn't this Coppell's MO? Score like a ***** sweats in church and then plays defense like she fights off her back...

Maybe a bit strong for an analogy, but somethings just need to be said.

I believe this looks a lot like the last time Coppell got rolling and then was bounced by 35 in the first round of the PO's by an underdog Colleyville team...

But anyway, good luck this year!

Oh, and the Coppell fan with the mullit, you know who I am talking to... I strongly suggest you quell your anti-Fuller rumor mill. Men don't act the way you have been acting... Let it go man. Rejoice! You have the greatest coach in Texas! (who is always looking for the next better job):D

You do have a valid point. The last two years Coppell has started strong against weak teams and then fallen apart near the end of the season. I think last years team was one of Coppell's strongest teams but they struggled at the end and didn't make the playoffs.

Coppell struggled against the tougher district teams last year.

This year will be different, Coppell will continue to roll during district like they haven't been able to in years past. Rolling, Rolling, Rolling......:D:D
