Bubba has seen enough 5A football to make his top four playoff team predictions for San Antonio.

28-5A
Clark
O'Connor
Warren
Stevens
I think without a doubt will be the last four teams standing in this district.

27-5A
Judson
Wagner
Carroll
East Central
I think the first three were pretty easy to pick, but I had to decide between EC and Victoria for the fourth spot. I could have gone either way. Chose EC because they will in my opinion get that running back on a roll in district. Judson and Wagner are 1-5 right now but they have played some really good teams. Judson- Warren, SV, Pflugerville and Wagner-SV, Roosevelt, and Kerrville. They will get on a roll in this week district.

Now for the most competitive district.
26-5A
Madison
Reagan
Roosevelt
New Braunfels
SV
This is in no specific order. I could narrow it down to four, but talent wise these are far and away the best in the district and these games could go either way anytime these teams face off. I think a big portion of the race will be decided when SV and NB face off this week. Roosevelt has the talent but will need to stay disciplined and not implode. At this minute if I had to eliminate one of these teams it would be Reagan. Go ahead and start ripping me apart, I know you have nothing better to do.:p

I think you've got it pretty much right. From the offseason everyone was saying the four teams from 265a would be NB, Madison, SV, and Roosevelt. It's as good a four team playoff picture now as it was back then. The surprises have been Mac and Reagan. Time will tell who's left standing come playoff time. Could get really tricky towards the end. I look for the games between Roosevelt, Mac, and Reagan to be hellacious.

Question for you, will Judson or Wagner be ready for the playoffs after coming out what appears to be a soft district? I would also ask what would you do to help prepair both so they will be ready?

I'll pose another question. Will any of the teams in 265a be ready for a deep run in the playoffs after tearing eachother to bits this season? I think the "rest" could be good for Judson. Gives you guys a chance to retool the offense and get some good work in for the defense. Judson WILL make the playoffs. Watch out region 4 at that point.

Smithson Valley made it to the DII Championship game back when they played in that soft district in 02, before they moved over to 26. So, I still would expect Judson to be prepared for the playoffs. Judson is always a threat in the playoffs. Wagner will wait to be seen.

Victoria Memorial is in a tough spot in that they haven't gotten but 1 game under their belt to prove anything. From what I hear, the offensive line and the defensive line did great against SA Taft in Zero week. It is Taft, but still, thats an improvement for Victoria lol. The Victoria defense held Taft scoreless for most of the game. The Vipers had a 20-2 lead in the 4th and it was 2 late Taft TDs to bring it to 20-17 final. My bro went to the game and he said the Viper defense was lighting up the Taft QB and caused several fumbles. My source wants the Vipers to work on the penalties. He said we had several holding calls and the Vipers need to improve in that area.
The Vipers should go into district 2-0 with a win over CC Moody this Friday.

We have CC Carroll next week and I feel they have a good chance at beating this Carroll team. Carroll has beaten 2 lowly Laredo schools and barely escaped an average Gregory Portland team Monday night 28-27. I don't think they are that good. They pad their record by playing Laredo schools every year.

I don't think EC is that great. I mean Seguin beat them and Seguin is bad. And didn't Wagnerdad say Wagner was hit by the injury bug? That can play a big part as well. I honestly think that after Judson at the #1 spot that all the remaining spots are up for grabs with the exception of South San and Highlands.

I could be wrong. :ninja:

26-5A is gonna be tough as always!! Madison, Roosevelt to me are 1,2 in no specific order. Reagan, NB, SV for the next 2 spots. Reagan has to have the upper hand seeing they beat SV. Alot will depend on the SV/NB game. If NB loses that game I don't see NB bouncing back in 26-5A. Everybodys gonna have a loss! In 27-5A EC's gonna have to go against 2 great defenses in Judson and Wagner. wouldn't count out CC Carroll. Wagners QB will be back next week as will the RB's. They will finally be healthy! I saw Roosevelt at its best when Wagner played them, I say they are by far the most talented team in the city. They're huge, fast and can score on special teams, offense and defense. And they're passing the ball real well.

I'm going to hold off before annointing Roosevelt. They lost to the only decent team they've played...in a rout. No one can take away from the athletes Roosevelt brings to the table, and they responded well to a season opening loss. But let them get into the mix of 265a a little bit more before handing them the title.

I think we need to see Mac play some quality teams...it seems that they can put points on the board and have a decent D with the fact that they are holding other teams quite well...26-5A is tough and only the strong will survive...right now, at this minute I go with...SV, NB, Madison, and my dark horse pick...Reagan...I could be wrong??? I have been before(hahahaha)

Not annointing them. Just say them against Wagner and they looked like they are putting it togeather!

Not to far off. The Taking Reagan out instead of NB was wrong, but everything else pretty much on track.

This would give you in Big 5A.
Judson vs. Stevens
Wagner vs. Clark

And in Small 5A
Carroll vs O'Connor
EC vs Warren
