Thanks for posting that.
I find it interesting that SGP is receiving any votes period let alone more than Richardson Berkner after the 38-0 beatdown Berkner gave to SGP in zero week.
Looks like the poll could be shaekn up here in the next few weeks with some top 10 showdowns.

Ok suspending anyones prejudice toward the outcome of the 1 vs 6 game this week, if 6 beats 1, how far does 1 drop?
If 1 beats 6, how far does 6 drop?

not far and.....not far.
both stay in top 10 either way

Now way Allen would remain in the top 10... Regardless of score
Trinity somewhere from 5-10...Unless they got skunked

regardless?
i dont think theyll fall out if trinity wins late late in the game or wins by 3 or less. trinity is expected to win; theyre #1 in the land. if allen keeps it close i dont think they will fall far...now et winning by 10+ is another story...

I agree. If #6 loses in a close one to everyone's #1 (to everyone except that perennial AP homer living in plano), then it is logical that #6 shouldn't drop much at all. Then again, the AP is not known for their logic.

I really don't mean to be "wet-blanket Plano guy" this season, but they don't strike me as a top 5 team at this point. 15 penalties last week and it wasn't just a ref picking on them for holding. It was a variety of violations. There is a general problem of discipline with regard to penalties.
That, and the team doesn't seem interested until the 2nd half. On defense especially. Perhaps things will fall into place but right now I shudder to think what SLC or many of the top 10 would do to them.
Maybe glass-half empty view. But this team has big expectations this year.

Don't know if Plano is a top 5 or a top 500 team yet. Every team has its own set of issues to deal with. I do know they need to tighten it up in a few areas to start looking a whole lot better. Still a lot of new faces being shuffled in and out of the lineup. I am sure they are still tweaking for district play though.
That being said, these polls are good reading fodder, but mean little now. All that matters now is the Friday night results.
Are the playoffs here yet?

I agree Farmer Fan, SGP getting 2 votes is a joke. Anyone that loses 38-0 to someone at home shouldn't be getting that type of love. I also think that Plano getting a 1st place vote is outrageous, Plano's defense is going to get them beat several times in District play. How many teams do you think that these voters actually have seen play? Where is Creekview? Berkner should be higher.

Even without that lone 1st place vote, Plano is solidly in 2nd place. I have no issues with Plano being in 2nd place, because I have not seen them play, it's only week 2, and who cares? I guess I do care about that AP homer however, because he has been doing this for years and is out of step with everyone else. Then again, it's a poll and who cares?

Permian's defense better improve if they want to prove they belong in the top 10. Last week was a good step toward that, but I would like to see them do that in the playoffs.
Hey now it is what it is we both know all sports poll are right:)

I think Trinity should be at 14 or 15 at this point in the season. Of course, that could happen if they don't take care of business Friday night at Allen.

I'm thinking most of the top 10 teams have some concerns. I know I have mine after last Friday, but it's still early in the season and everyone has the whole season to shore up their downfalls. I think everyone in the top 10 have big expectations and anything short of reaching the final game will be a disappointment. After all that's pretty much how you get ranked isn't it? The desire to win a championship drives you to excellence.
