Everyone else has one, Why not us. Let's get on here and get some thoughts going on each match up. And any news that everyone might be interested in hearing. If you didn't know...the above mentioned question is neither right or wrong.

The picture you have reminds me of a guy I went to Trinity with named Junior Filikitonga. But his hair was a little shorter than that.

A few things

Trinity has a very formidable offensive weapon they did not even use once last night although he was on the field most of the time - ( I ain't tellin' ) I don't see us getting into a situation where he will have to be used until the playoffs when we want to surprise some teams.

QB was makin' sandwiches in the backfield he has so much time.

I guess we don't have to worry about the development of the "O" line, check that one off of the "things to do" list .

It would have been nice to see the QB hit Tucker with a TD pass when he was lined up on the far end of the right side of the line with no one guarding him, instead Denarius ran another play that resulted in a touchdown.

One of the best "D" players was hardly on the field and CH still had trouble moving the ball.

A certain highly nationally touted CH player was basically ineffective, easily handled most of the time by 1 guy with a lot of vowels in his name. I wonder if the college scouts will watch this film against a quality opponet. I know the CH kid won't volunteer it.

Geez that #47 Fielo is a fun player to watch (along with many others)

Of course Lineweaver knows what he's doing but those "Non - fair catches" on punts freak me out

Buy the dude / dudette responsible for getting the band there on time a watch and a crash course of friday night rush hour patterns in FWD area.
Embarrasing. The Allen trip will be a whole lot worse on Northbound 75 verses southbound 360 on a Friday night ( leave HEB about 4 PM). The last two games ET lost, SLC -band didn't get there until 2nd half ( ET was trailing by 12 at half lost by 1) and the OP game when the band couldn't go,
I directly attribute to the band so I was nervous last night till about 7:25, we need you there - Got it !!!!!!!!;) ok so I'm superstitous

Hopefully the dude / dudette responsible for designing the flag twirlers costumes ( both colors & design) takes great care of their seeing eye dog. IMO, even more embarrasing

Great job of CH putting up signs allong the route showing an easy way to visitors parking. Great Idea.

CH is a very pretty town and a nice drive on FM1382 to get there

Trinity's Future is Bright!!!

I guess some of the younger talent has been put into the spotlight as a result of last night's game so I want to give them props! We had been keeping this under our hat but!:)

Willie Hubbard So QB: He will be one of the best we have had at QB, srong arm and a real good runner!

Bobby Brown Jr RB/WR---Speed and moves!!

Damian Hart Jr RB- Breaks tackles and doesn't fall on his own.

Tevin Williams SO RB--Great kid, special talent as a runner. Spin Moves and makes up a lot of ground and doesn't look like he is working at it. He breaks tackles and has moves.

There's a whole bunch of Jr's on this team that contributed last night and several SOPH's.

I can't believe we were able to work in so many backups in this game!

The class that will be seniors in 2010 is simply awesome: SUPER SOPH's! They will have potential to win it all!:D

The coaches have done a fantastic job of noticeably keeping every unit fresh. It really helps the underclassmen's development the trust the coaches have shown with their rotations across the board.

The thing I like about this team is that I feel they are playing nowhere near their potential at this point; there is so much upside still. That is scary.

On the downside: I was watching the THS vs. Cedar Hill replay and 29 doesn't look right. Where is that burst of speed we're used to? He has lanes but is getting chased down.

I would say what we've seen about a lot of things regarding Trinity, some things take time. Even the downside has a good news, the fact this offense doesn't have to rely on Tray to be effective should say a lot of about what they're capable especially should he start rolling as well. If you look back to last year I don't think Tray really got cranked up til the SGP game and then he pretty much went on a tear through the Bell game.

Don't worry about 29, he'll be fine - I always think of him as having football speed not track speed, in the open field he'll get caught a few times his talent is spotting the holes and quick moves. Although ET gained a lot of rushing yards in the game, I was pretty immpressed with CH's run defense against ET. There were very few if any real breakaways or long gains. ET would have had about 3 more TD's against a lesser team. They may not be as fast as advertised but they had enough to effect ET's running game somewhat. There will be a few games this year that will look like track meets and CH wasn't one of them.

I was watching the replay, the announcers were insinuating that the CH defense was giving up in the later 2nd half. Cheap shot - those guys were worn out and beat up (ET will do that to ya) but I never thought once they were giving up.

The announcers said CH was giving up? That's crazy. They were playing hard til the final play. Maybe what they meant to say was "The CH defense is giving up......huge chunks of yardage on every play." That would be true as the game went on. But, that's what generally happens, isn't it? All those big kids begin to wear teams down in the third and fourth quarters....especially when you can keep bringing in fresh legs every series.

My question is: When will supposed analysts begin to recognize that Trinity has way above average team speed, especially on defense? After watching them pursue Friday night, I think this may be our fastest team overall I've ever seen.

You're right, of course. Maybe I just expect too much from the beat writers who have covered Trinity for years. They continue to perpetuate the myth that Trinity is big and slow. Maybe this works to our advantage?

By the way, congrats to Colleyville on another big win.

Thanks. Coach Fuller has done a great job with the program since he got here in May 2007. We anticpate being very competitve for a long time.

As for the journalists, it is hard to stomach. My time in Tarrant County dates back to the Fort Worth Press days of Jim Dent, Blackie Sherrod, Dan Jenkins, and Bud Shrake. While no paper will ever assemble a sports staff like that again, it is the standard which today's writers are measured by in my mind. So, for clever diatribe and coffee shop fodder, I now read and post on 5Afootball.com :D

by the way, was our 5-5A thread not good enough? Or do i now need to start a Heritage thread?

Let's tap the breaks friends. Plus it's it's not so bad being underestimated.

I for one can't remember a less talented, slow-moving, no coordinated Trojan team in the past 5 years. I mean - paint dry's faster than most of these kid's 40 times. These guys are so over rated you have to go back to one of those Ohio State squads to find a team so over exagerated. The Trojan front 7 is so unspectacular you could swap them out with Bell's and no one would notice the difference. Infact when Allen plays Trinity this friday no one would blame them if their fans somehow thought that Monterey Tech was back again.

Start a Heritage thread. And while you're at it include a complete scouting report for a certain homecoming game in Oct :)

Seriously, the panthers are certainly putting their hands up as the team most dangerous to unseat Trinity for the 5-5A district crown. Infact, this district is quietly shaping up into a 2 horse race

Don't blame the band directors for the late arrival. Blame the HEBISD Transportation Department for not having enough buses. The band has to wait for the buses to get back to the school from taking HS kids home at 4:00. That makes it at least 5:00 before they can leave the school to head to the game.
Trust me, the band kids, directors, and parents were just as frustrated as the football fans.
I don't imagine that the non-starters on the football team would give up their seats for band kids, so we just have to live with the band arriving at the last minute.
As far as missing their cue, if you didn't notice, half the band was in the stands and half was still lined up on the track trying to get into their tiny seating area when they got their "cue" to play the Alma Mater.
I just hope that the traffic doesn't cause them to be late tonight!!

Since joining 5A in 1980 Trinity:

Good job. As you know, the 5-5A thread was started in July and has served as the general hangout for the district and the schools with few posters. I've complemented the Trinity fans several times for using threads for their games and other issues since there's so many Trinity posters compared to the other schools.

On the other hand, there's no such thing as a private thread. Some of us read them all. :)

If there are no injuries in the playoffs, then he will get right at it. As long as he is not needed like Baker was last year, his carries will be down, therefore less yards. right now if Trinity were to play 16 games, his projection would be 1200. so....maybe

I thought this was our thread? Can't we start with a little confidence now?

IF we go for 16-0 I think he will break it, possibly by game 14. Just a little thought as we see better defenses we should see more carries. It is hard to pick up the yards if we only have 8-10 plays per possessions and about 40% of that is passing with the rest shared between other players. As we see tougher teams we have to work harder for the prize.

since we are looking ahead, and not the team, I will say, FM is who I think we will play 1st round, then Plano, Odessa High, then either Permian or Allen for the regional championship. TW in the semis and Northshore or Pearland in the Final.

FM
Plano
Odessa
Permian or Allen
Woodlands
North Shore

Wow, what a run that would be. Odessa and Permian is possible two weeks in a row. That would stink to possibly have to drive to Abilene two weeks in a row:rolleyes:

True, some kids who have never played here, might want to. Like El Paso Franklin a few years ago. Their coach said the kids knew they were underdogs and would probably lose even in EP and wanted to play in Texas Stadium so they could tell their families one day.

regarding the stats

Notice the yd per carry average on everyone, you'd expect the Qb to be low, but evryone else is really good.

In the passing stats - how does Tevin have one TD but no attempts? Is it a mistake or is there a logical explanation?

Interesting stats. When people point out that Trinity doesn't have a 1,000 rusher (yet), just point out to them that we've gotten about 1,700 yards from the tailback position; it's just that we spread it around between ten ball carriers. In all my years of following Trinity, I've never seen such a deep and talented group of runners. We've always had two or three.....but ten?

Since this is the Trinity thread, I'll get on my soap box about Bell arrogance. Last night at the JV games, Pennington Field staff point-blank asked you if you were a Trinity or Bell fan at the Home Side gate because Bell fans had to sit on the visitors' side. They wanted to keep the rivals apart. Well, there was this Bell witch sitting two rows in front of me. She was claping and yelling for Bell. Needless to say, I was fuming  but when she pulled out a bell to ring when it looked like they might score, I had to move before I got fan-rage and went postal on her :Censor:. That's why Bell sucks.:notworthy

That puts us out West and then Down South the Whole Run!!

But what a run it will be!!!!

Put up your x-mas decorations now, there will be no time to do so later!!!

Could be Lubbock as opposed to Abilene. That is where we played Permian in '06.

Looks like it's going to be FM Marcus instead. Oh well, it doesn't matter who they are, as long as you beat whoever is on the field with you.

DMN has it as Coppell anyway. No tie breaker needed. Marcus beat Coppell

Anyone know price of admission difference buying at Pennington vs. at Texas Stadium? Debating about buying a second set so we can "in and out" at TS since we're going to be there all day.

I believe it's 8 pre-sale, and 10 at the gate.

Just got back from talking to the "BOSS" they are already preparing for the game on Sat. Confirmed it is Flower Mound Marcus and we will be on the Home side or GATE 8, but we will be wearing WHITE. Not sure how they came up with that, I did not ask just said THANKS..
We will be selling our last of the six programs with the trading cards in them. Have alot of programs left from all games but the Colleyville game. Please let me know if anyone needs a replacement or wants to buy a set of them.
