ESPN - what is going on?

So, I'm reading the board with ESPN on in the background and I hear Greenberg say that "Coming up, Steve Phillips will hold a mock Dodgers press conference." I'm thinking, 'I know he didn't just say what I think he said.' So, the commercials come and go. I hear a clamoring group of reporters...Curious, I turned...Holy crap, they're really doing a mock press conference. Steve Phillips read a fake statement personifying the supposed offseason musings of the Dodgers GM and then proceeded to field fake questions from real ESPN reporters including Sao Pao, one of the few credible reporters left at the once great network. What the hell? People got paid to come up with such crap?

Then they have ESPN Hollywood...I won't even go there.

ESPN is going down the tubes and it sucks...it used to be so, so good.

They even managed to ruin College Gameday. I'm pissed.

Am I alone on this? What do y'all think?

I was like...huh?

It all started with the little game shows during Sportscenter...you know they bring in two teammates and they try to guess stuff...

Dude...If I wanted to watch 25,000 pyramid I would put it on the Game Show network.

Next came...the "and twins" crap....OMG...please stop it! That wasn't cool the first time...damn sure ain't cool a year later.

College Gameday...it's a PG board...I can't give you my honest opinion.
Let's just say...I curse at my TV non-stop every Saturday morning.

I think it sucks and the network sucks. I couldn't miss a day of 21 straight Sportscenters per day back in the 90's.

Oh, and put some freaking clothes on Linda Cohn (sp?) kahn cohen coln conk cararkoba Cobdobdinkadonk...linda+attempted sex appeal is about as unattractive as Mark Mangino.

I still like the sports, but the Sports network seems to think we want games and movies and all kidns of other crap besides sports. Maybe it was all a plan back in 1979.

Entertainment and Sports Programming Network. I used to wonder where the entertainment was because it was all sports and I liked it. In 2005, we get entertainment mixed in with a little amount of sports. I'd rather have the 1982 CWS championship game on in 1986 than the poker and other stuff they show now.

They used to show a full box score after everygame on sportscenter and recap all of the sports. I hate all of the commentary and "analysts" that they have now. I hate the "top ten" plays of the night and of the week. I want to see the box scores with full stats not just the score and two star players.

I hate the and twins stuff. It was good for the first time I saw it last year. After the third week I was like hopefully they do not do this all season. By week 14 I knew that this would continue and I thought hopefully they don't do it next year. Well they have done it this year and now I am hoping that they don't do it next yar.

Gameday has gotten so bad. I used to watch it every saturday almost religously. Now If I watch some of it alright, if I miss it ok. Now I just look for the really cool signs which I do have to say that there have been some good ones this year. My favorite is "Osama bin Leinart" with a picture of Matt Leinart in a turban and beard. Back to gameday.

ESPN is only good for baseball. I still think baseball tonight is as good a show that you will find on ESPN only because of the credibility of the reporters covering baseball for them. If you dont have the mlb direct package then ESPN is as good as you will find in covering baseball. The funny thing is they have steve phillips doing these mock press conferences but I believe he was fired as a GM for the Mets, so why would anyone want to listen to him?
I would say ESPN started going downhill around 2001 when they did their little show about A&M. That show was a big waste of time and had nothing to do with sports.

I thought about saying that in my first post. There is no music on MTV. I didn't listen to most of the music anyway and mostly watched Beavis and Butt-head back in the day, but we all joked about MTV. CMT did the same thing later on.

It probably was simulated because when I saw that Steve Phillips had the Yankee one I was like I thought that they resigned Cashman what are they doing with the Met's reject/

But every morning I have to watch that same damn commercials about "Fathead" with ben Roethlisgberger talking about how cool they are. Or the Bowflex commercials that are always on.

I love that commercial when they are picking teams for a basketball game. They pick all the 7 dwarfs and leave Dr. J as the last pick! ;) Was hilarious.
