SLC- Bellaire game cancelled. Shame they can't find another team that had their game with a Houston area team effected? This young team needs the experience.
One of many I'm sure.

Lufkin and SLC both have an open date on October 3. Both would need a game. Would be interesting, but both also had home games scheduled. So something would have to give.

The Woodlands also is not playing on October 3. I'd rather see them play Carroll than Lufkin.

The Woodlands is going to have to step aside this is personal between SLC and Lufkin :D
The dragons have 6 home games this year and then 1 at SMU so thats like 7. It wouldnt hurt them to come to ABE. But I doubt this happens. I actually think The Woodlands and SLC might happen although Lufkin was going to play SLC this season but we ended up with Mesquite instead coach walson called a day to late or a few hours something like that.
I do think if Lufkin doesnt make this game up with Nac then we will schedule somebody on our open date. Maybe a team Louisiana.
It sucks to wake up to the radio saying the game has been moved to tonight for them to completely cancel it like 4 hours later. Damn Ike.

Carroll doesn't have 6 home games..we now have 4 including the home opener last week with Arlington. You sit on the vistors side at Ford Stadium, SMU looking into the afternoon sun and tell me it's a home game. Our next home game is against the Mustangs from North Shore... in 3 weeks!

Is there a precedent with Carroll? Will 2008 end up being a 9 game regular season, or will the open date of October 3rd be used to secure a make-up game, so there will be the 10 game regular season. Anyone know if there will be a big effort to schedule a game for the weekend of October 3rd/4th.

The Dragons have Mesquite next week, so it should only be a 2 week gap.

DB was talking about home games, so that's what I meant although I didn't explicitly say it.
The next Carroll home game is in two weeks, which is three weeks after the Arlington game.

Yeah, your right, 3 weeks from the Arlington game, a week ago, to our next home game...:o

I understand Hal is looking to book a game in our open week. I guess it will depend on who is available and what terms can be negotiated.

Not really an option... Baylor plays OU the next day, so a HS game before is not a possibility with Friday walk through

5 home games and SMU was a neutral site. We played Plano West.

Only one pre-season scrimmage, and now possibly two byes...we should be fresh as a daisy come December;)
One question remains, Will the game postponement alter the die hard tailgaters at DS?

I'd love to see the Dragons vs. MNW in 2009. MNW's got a very good JR class this year just like SLC. Doubt it will happen, but it would be cool.

No doubt. Saves $3 and gets in some exercise. By the way, could we get a few more Trinity threads going? I'm just not getting enough analysis of that school:)

I know ..thats crazy.. It's like they are so competitve over there, that they are competing with each other for thread time:)

Trinity folks are good fans and are justly proud of their team. Let 'em talk away on as many threads as they might like.

I agree........There have been plenty of years where everyone said there were too many SLC threads. It seems to go with national rankings and having the bulleye on your back.
Let them have their fun and the bullseye...........

This might be my first homer post of the year but I really doubt we had 8 seperate threads going during week # 2 of any of "those years" on Dragons...
But I'll do my research, just in case...

I expect to play the games scheduled and then, hopefully, six more. But I doubt that Carroll tries to pick up a game for the week before district play begins. If I'm wrong, then cool and it will be a pleasant surprise.

If you add in the posts complaining about the number of Carroll threads at that time, you might even double the estimates. :D

It seems the 26-5A fans were doing alot of the complaining back then. They don't see to be as active now.

Many teams such as Lufkin are making their games up on Monday of next week. Any chance of Bellaire travelling up on a Monday to play this one?
