I just want to wish everyone the best of luck over the next few days. I know we have a friendly (sometimes not so friendly) rivalry between D/FW and Houston but at the end of the day, we're all Texans.
Things don't look too good right now, especially for those living along the coastline but I will have you all in my prayers. Take care, good luck and Godspeed.

This storm is moving east - I can feel it. Port Arthur evacuating right now. Lufkin ISD lets out at 1 to allow for evacuees coming in.
Good luck all.

Yes the metroplex has plenty of shelters and officials are expecting 40,000 evacuees.

Same here!
These storms are nothing to laugh about...
Just a headache all the way around...
Gotta wait on it(storm-know it's coming), gotta watch it knock out power and such, then clean up the mess...Not fun times..
Anyways, wishing all the best!

please be safe. hurricane force winds are being felt 115 miles from the center of the storm, tropical storm force winds from about 200-250 miles from the center of the storm. storm surges could be up to 20 feet. this storm is larger than katrina. please, please be safe. i cannot stress that enough
