My college son lets me be a Facebook friend. I post pictures and his friends get to see them. But I never post messages and don't try to help him with his life. He's a big boy. If I have to help him with his daily life then I failed as a parent.

Our relationship is simple. I pay the bills and he makes good grades and stays on track to graduate in four years.

I heard that lots of young adults won't let their parents be their FB friends for similar reasons.

My kids use facebook and dont have me or their mom on it. I dont even have a facebook. They do have me on their myspace though. It's easier to keep up with them that way since they live out of state.

My kids are still sorta young so maybe that's why they allow me to be on their myspace. They still think I'm kool.

yeah, I did.. it's a progression. I was young and I spelled it "cool", then I progressed to "kewl", then the 90's ended and I've now moved up to "kool". I'm also getting into using the term "uber" for stuff too. But I'm still not sure about that one just yet...

That word isn't safe even if you play an MMO. Take it from someone who has played an MMO for 7 years of his life. Stay away from that word.

WHAT? no way.. no way.. I love using kool. I cannot help but use kool. It has become automatic for me now. It just comes out that way unless I think about it. damn. Ima have to think about that some more.. I'd rather keep kool and lose uber..

Thats quite funny, I can see how parents would want to see what the kids are doing considering facebook is huge in the college life.
