just a question. don't know much about them. i do know they beat a new and improved reagan team 37-7 earlier this year, and i know of plenty other teams who sturggled with reagan this year including SV if not lost to reagan, so i am just curious how strong you all think SA JAY is?

It's All speed!! They are the fastest team I have seen yet. If you don't contain the 2 RB's inside they will run all day! When they played OC they had 4 plays. Run Left, Run Right, Counter Left, and once they threw a pass! BUT they fumble a lot! if you look at their fumbling stats sometimes they fumble a lot (clark, Marshall game they did thats why it was so close) and sometimes not at all. Their weapons are those 2 RB's though. They are so small it is difficult to keep your eyes on them. The defense is quick as well. The D-line is very explosive and the secondary is scary as well. I would definatley say Jay is a team not to overlook like OC did.

If they can do what the did to OC last week, then I'd say they are damn dangerous!

There defense is as fast as any defense I seen this year. In the game I saw them they did turn the ball over a couple of times and made some bonehead mistakes offensively. But they can explode on offense. It will not be their athletiscm that holds them back it will be their discipline.

They did have some penalties in the OC game and unfortunatley OC couldn't get anything positive from it. Oh well, at least we are flying under the radar! That could potentially be good for this YOUNG OC team.

That sounds like last year's Westfield team. They played error-free football for 4 weeks and ruined Judson and North Shore's seasons.

DO not confuse Jay's talent level with Westfield's/

No, I don't think they have the D1 guys that SW has, but that's what SW did for 4 weeks last year.

Lonny,

We are talking about JAY here, not Judson! lol

Jay is very good. I've seen them and Panther is right...those 2 guys are very fast!

If JJ plays like they did last week, they'll win big! But if they play like they have in a couple of their games this year, it will be an outright dog fight!

I like Jay to go deep in the playoffs although second round is going to be tough. I had a pos earlier in the year, were Clemens buff laughed at the thought of Jay being a good team. This team is doing it very quite and I feel that the way they like it.

BubbaCoach,

I'm curious as to why you think the Mustangs are so undisciplined. You've mentioned that several times in your previous posts. I recall you saying that discipline would keep the Mustangs from beating O'Connor - so now I see another lack of discipline post. I was just wondering what you meant by their lack of discipline (Penalties etc.. ??).

I didn't laugh I simply stated the fact that they have started out several seasons like a house of fire and burned out completely! JJ has had plenty of talent in the past to get it done, but have never done much come post season. This could be their year to shine, we'll soon see.

I think Jay is for real....I know I doubted them in the beginning but they've proven they're a good team. When Reagan came in they (reagan) didn't play to my expectations but maybe Jay was that good.....

Its hard to tell, look at what Judson did to Reagan, and then what SV did to Judson. I do know they have a running back from the hurricane

Man, that's a bunch of crap! We should have gotten him. After all, we lost our home grown all-american in week 8. I think that we should file protest with the UIL. :p To tell you the truth, I'm just glad those kids have gotten a chance to play this year after all they've been through! :) But if we loose to them in the playoffs, I'm filing a petition to have them forfeit the win for using a LA player!!!! :D

Good luck to all those displaced kids, but please don't beat our Buffs!

as hard as a loss to Jay would be to SV, I wouldnt have it any other way. These kids deserve to play, the storm was not their fault. No petition here, but it would be tempting...

Remember that SV thrives on others mistakes. They shut down SM's explosive offense. I think it was #27. He ran all over SV and then shut down the pass to the right on defense. Can Jay pass. If not, I see some common threads between them and SM. SM passed at most 2 or 3 times. I think SV will shut Jay down.

#27 was the real deal. One of the best football players I have seen in a while. He is one of those, that a college will be able to put just about anywhere speed and skills are needed on the team. On O or D.

He reminds me of Sendejo...very versatile. Has Sendejo been burned this year?

Yea, he has been beat a couple of times this year, but the plays he makes have made up for it 10 fold. That number 27 was better than Sendejo, but not as versatile. Sendejo can play CB, WR, PR, KR, RB, TE, SS, FS, (he has not played all these, but could) not to mention he is better than anyone at the kickoff, and he can kick field goals as well. I saw him kickoff at Blossom one time this year, and it landed past the Flag pole. It had to have gone close to 80 yards.. There was a little bit of wind behind him, but still impressive. I am very excited to see what they do with him in college.

That is amazing for a backup place kicker. I know its warmup, but he does do it with, what seems to be, little effort. If I were him, I would just try to kick off for someone, and play maybe some DB, then go off to the NFL and just kickoff. Even at the min. of 300K (or whatever it is now) that would be the perfect job.

That would be a fantastic job. Who was it that I saw kick off at the end of the SM game, Sendejo's replacement? Compared to now, SV will be weak in the kicking positions next year
