Plano's obsession with SLC

I am tired of everyone from SLC claiming that Plano is overly obsessed with SLC.

Fact is your on top, and we used to be.

Fact is we have had to smell your stink of success for the last 3 years while we have been at home watching the playoffs.

Opinion we feel that we have a good enough team to compete with SLC this year.

Who will win! who knows it will be a great game and I hope it happens at the very least to see the crowd.

I thought that we called a truce. Do you really want to call it off?

Earlier in the year many posts were started that looked a lot like "How does Carroll do it", then there was the infamous "hand Carroll's butt on the platter" thread, and then the numerous "Carroll we are coming for you." Now Plano fans seem to only talk about Carroll. When they have a close call they will realize that Carroll does not really factor into their team's success or failure just like all of the trashtalking Trinity and Longview fans.

If the posts and thread are so useless do not reply. You do not need to personally attack me. I have never done that to you.

In that game Carroll did not trail in the fourth quarter. Carroll put up over 500 yards offense while holdin the opposition to under 300. Carroll did not need a last second desperation field goal to win. This victory was so close to being just as dominating as the rest of their wins, but it didn't happen. The stats were there, just not the points.

Stop with the personal attacks. I have not personnally attacked you. If you are so worried about being linked with the Longview fanbase then don't proclaim to be a part of them. If anybody ever eats snails, go to a Longview game so you can get the taste slapped out of your mouth. It takes about 3-4 days and countless amounts of Scope to get that taste out of your mouth. Why do all that when you can go see a game and have the taste dealt with?

That time I was at a Longview game I didn't get slapped.. My tires got punched out.. But that's not the same...

They have been out of the playoffs too long and have not been playing well since before they played East. Don't get so offended. It is just a football game. Does the quality of the football team completely diminish the male athletes available for other sports? With the exception of baseball (haven't seen the baseball team) every male sport i've seen other than fotball obviously is very sub-par. Is that a problem or is it just a down cycle for some of the other male sports right now?

Carroll has had success in other male sports besides football before. I think 6 years ago they had the number 1 ranked basketball team in 4A and made it to the semifinals. They usually have a pretty good swim team and they won state in golf last year. Basketball has been down lately but baseball is traditionally very good and they won a 4A state title in 2001. I don't know anything about the tennis team. They also have a few good wrestlers but
I am not sure how good the overall team is. I think that most schools' male sports programs are not near the caliber as Carroll's.

After listening to the Desoto/Plano game on the internet, I have my doubts whether Plano will even make it out of the second round. That quarterback should never be asked to throw the ball again......3 interceptions?? You can get by with that sloppy/soft play against Desoto (6-4) but a top ten team would have knocked Plano's teeth out tonight. Actually, there are a lot of teams who would have knocked their teeth out. If this is the team that proceeds in the playoffs, it should be a very short run!!

I think we all now know how good Plano is. Scraped a win against De Soto. Plano's season ends next week when they play either DR or SGP.

There are a lot of excuses that a team could make if they were in Plano's position. I don't think that they will use those because they seem like a class organization. This game was played later than usual and that could have thrown off the players a little bit too.

I have a hard time believing the 3 interceptions the Plano QB threw had anything with overlooking this game. Personal fouls, penalties, fumbles, bumbles & stumbles.......I still don't think so. they still did win. It wasn't impressive, but they did win. The "old school" offenses tend to win like that usually. I did hear though that Plano was pretty unimpressive in their last regular season game as well. Next week we will see if the trend continues or not.

I believe most should have been humbled by that soft/sloppy game. If Desoto stays in the ball game as they did, can you imagine what most of these teams could have done to Plano tonight. The 70's style offense worked in the day but today, it won't get you far in the playoffs.

What they did tonite wasn't the 70's & 80's Plano offense that was so effective. Kimbrough used to throw maybe 3 or 4 times a game. Play great defense, play mistake free, and run the option and keep running the option. If it isn't working, it eventually will and you aren't making mistakes (i.e 3 INTs) in the meantime that help your opponent. Plano's old offense would wear down the opponent's defense and be very successful in the 2nd half.

But, unfortunately this is not what they are doing. They are coming out passing way too much and all it is doing is killing good drives and causing turnovers. If they come out with this offense next week they lose.

Talk about obsessing!! Why if post all these threads about how bad Plano played. Yes we played poorly!! I was at the game. Yes if we play like that next week we could get beat. However Good teams find a way to win when playing poorly. Plano did and we get to play again next week. Thats all that matters. 1 game at a time.

I must say that if the Cats do not find their focus we may never see the SLC game let alone in having a chance to win.

Tonight was not impressive at all and they need to find a way to regain focus and settle down.

Next weeks game is only going to be tougher either Ryan or SGP and playing like tonight will not get it done against those teams.

plano fans haven't much experience with passing woes. a qb can have an off game making the passing game seem like a very poor option. last night was definitely not sfikas' night, but it was a win. the defense played very well and made a win possible. i expect the qb situation to improve and pull it out next week too. 11-0 baby. this game shouldn't be apologized for.
