As the old saying goes "Offense wins games, Defense wins championships". Any opinions and/or records on the best team defenses in terms of points allowed since 1980? Let the voting (and debate) begin. Are there any defenses you would consider better than those on this list?

I know the Defense from North Shore's 2003 team was pretty salty.

the most dominant team ever was the 1983 Daingerfield team. I think they allowed 8 points all season. They did play in 3A, but I still feel that they would have been one of the best ever.

Definitely Daingerfield. They were sick. They had the size, speed, talent, and coaching at every position to have competed in the largest classification.

Will there be any teams from this year that could be potentially added to this list?

I thought that Celina would have been able to be added to this list this year because they had given up only 10 points in their first 6 games, but in their seventh game they gave up 21 to prosper. Since then they have given up only 7 points.

I'd take my chances with the 85 Yates Lions!

"85 Yates & '03 North Shore were two of the most dominating defenses. Starters only played half -3 qtrs a game. The starters pretty much shut out everyone they faced.

Dangerfield was very a good team back in 1983 but I wasn't born yet... lol oh well. Dangerfield is still good now.

Daingerfield got my vote but the 1980 Pittsburg Pirates were awesome too and would be #2 on my list. Future NFL players were on the Daingerfield squad. Carter 1988 with Armstead were brutal with NFL talent too and are my number 3 pick.
