Lufkin, SGP, Northshore are three that stick out in my mind, with lufkin miles ahead of the rest.

Lufkin is led by the best DB in the state well I will say him and Chykie Brown from Northshore, and Will Thompson of Katy are about even they all have there qualities. Sendejo has been solid this year at SV but I was really suprised how well SV played last year against SLC. As far overall as a secondary unit Lufkin is pretty solid so I would rank them in the top 3. Another big time player is Cortez Bell from Longview but I just dont know about the other 3 at times they are suspect. Who has the best secondary overall I really couldnt tell you.
If I could be a Secondary.
CB Chykie Brown-Northshore
CB Leonard Hewitt- Lufkin
FS Justin Agnew(SP)- Southlake Carroll
SS Cortez Bell-Longview
Can anboyd beat that secondary. just for a laugh.

Yeah i definitely think Lufkin's combo of Hewitt, Landry, Harris, and Brown is top 3 material. If Lufkin somehow makes it to the state semis to play SLC again a 100 percent healthy Hewitt is a must.

Those r all good canidates. But there's no doubt in my mind that South Grand Prarire's Malcolm Williams is at least an first team all state player, I gurantee it.

LMAO. Ok I will take that.
My Slot Wr's will be
Ralph Thomas
Clint Renfro
On the outside I have
Dez Bryant
McKay Jacobsen
Talk about some firepower they would hang around 70-80 on the best of them. Even though SLC pretty much does that anyway(LOL)

Without a doubt, those guys will knock your head off. People like Cartez Beall make you scared to catch the ball.

Coverage is more important to a cb then a safety but if you have both (Great coverage and the ability to knock heads off) then you are really scary in the secondary. How is cartez's speed and coverage abilities. He is a safety right??

I just wish someone would write a posts with STATS and FACTS to support their claims......
Heck, I have seen 5 year olds put forth better reasons why they should be allowed to stay up past their bedtimes.....
IF YOUR SECONDARY IS THE BEST....SHOW US WHY....STOP THE MADNESS WITH THE NAMES ALREADY....NOBODY KNOWS THEM.

The guy is unstoppable in the flats and over the middle. Rule of thumb: just don't catch a ball there. You'll wake up on the sideline. When he was playing a backup role when I saw them last year, he didn't get beat deep. He had very smooth agility opening up his hips and hanging with the receiver. I'd say he's running a low 4.5. But like every other DB, there is always room for improvement. I have a special place in my heart for what he does because I was a SS.

Easy superbuff. Lufkin's Leonard Hewitt led the state in interceptions last year and he has 7 this year (not sure where that ranks) and most teams do not even throw his way. He is rated as a top recruit in the nation by every site. He is their leader and will not go into the other players stats in the secondary but they are solid. The Lufkin secondary is giving up about 80 passing yards a game?? Is that a little better?? I did not know we needed to pull out the stat sheet?? Do we need references?? ;)

Longview has 16 interceptions so far this year and have forced and recovered (i'm guessing) 8 fumbles. They're +20 on the year in turnover ratio.
Cartez is clearly the leader of that corps as he has over 70 tackles and 3 INTs.

Many do not realize that Hewitt can bring the lumber because of his size. He likes to hit unlike many great coverage cb's. AKA D Sanders!! LOL I would say Jamie Harris (safety) is Lufkin's best hitter in the secondary with Hewitt and Brown right behind. I have heard that Bell will take your head off Arab.

stats will never prove how good a particular defensive unit it. It is subjective, but I do know that all the units that were listed by DragonWatcher are extremely fast and tackle well

Agreed. Malcom Williams would have to be considered in the upper tier.

I would believe it. Hewitt is a great all around athlete.
Yeah, Beall is just....wow...scary. He plays like he's carrying 210 instead of 175. He just trashes the ball carrier. During the Evangel game, those receivers were catching the ball in the flats and ducking just in time to get hammered by Cartez.
If we meet, your best bet is the deep bomb. I'd hate for Dez's career to be cut short.

Just because you might not know the names it doesn't mean the rest of us in here don't. All the names that were mentioned so far were common names that were heard throughout the season. Where have you been? I am not dropping names but I just had to respond to your comment. Stats don't always tell the story and watching just one game will not always tell the story. You just have to follow these kids throughout the season to get it. Someone could send you a stat sheet but you could say " I am still not impressed." The only way for anyone to "Show You" is if the players do it while you are there watching them but you might have to watch more then one game to really know. There will always be those that disagree even if the majority thinks that certain players are the best.

Well FB Clements has a very good secondary that gives its weaker linebacking positions plenty of support......They have about 12 interceptions between the 4 of them and for a 3rd place team in 20-5A.....that's good.
Stats may not prove who's the best, but if all you gonna do is mention top ranked squads, you are going to miss some good teams at that position.

This isn't boasting and I'm not trying to spark an argument. I just don't think this secondary would be considered legitimate until we face Lufkin.

From seeing some videos, I'd say that kid is better than Holman and I'd hate for him to get injured. That being said, I think the most likely person to do it would be Beall. He waits for thos short hitch routes to converge on. That is when damage is done.

I agree Holman was the best in Lufkin's history before Dez. And i emphasize Before!! I am telling you he is just a big time special wr. I definitely see him being a pro in the near future.

Where is Holman at these days? Wasn't he at Baylor?
I think the greatest matchup I've seen in recent years was LaRandall McKind man to man with half-brother Quentin Holman. That was great.

Did not realize that was Holman's half brother?? Holman is a sad story, Ton of talent, could have went almost anywhere he wanted if not for the grades. He went to a smaller school (not sure which one) but he got into a lot of trouble and i will leave it to that. Hopefully he has moved on and has got his life together??

Yep there was a big article about it. Apparently McKind and Holman's father wasn't the most savory character according to Coach Jones. McKind went to Kilgore college where he led the team both years in INTs.
He's at A&M Commerce now but not playing football on his own will ( I think). I just talked to my old buddy last night who is a coach at Commerce and he's going to recruit McKind due to their CB depth problems. He was asking me all of his stats and what all I did, at which point I unloaded all the stats (He has a stat in every single category). He was convinced. You may see him suit up for them soon.

I will never forget watching Holman taking the first pass of the game with Carroll all the way in 2002 and then on the very last play where he failed to come down with the hail mary in the end zone
