I think IMac will win, but only by a very small amount. If our defense holds SLC well enough and keeps their points low, then Imac has a chance. But we need to work on our offense, especially if we want any kind of good passing game.
btw, who is this abcd person? i know you go to mac.

Carroll will win because MacArthur will have difficulty scoring on the Dragon Defense. Mac has a pretty talented receiver (#3) but everything else will be held to a minimum...IMO. While Mac has a pretty good secondary, they will not be able to cover everyone. I don't think Mac will be able to get enough pressure on McElroy and that will put Mac's secondary in a tough spot.

I have seen both teams play, and this may sound a little off the path, but I think SLC will have to establish a run game in this one (hopefully Newton is fit and ready to go). I say this because, I too am impressed with IMAC's defensive secondary and for the SLC passing game to get into gear I think they need the run to open it up. SLC wins this but it may be closer than most folks anticipate.

I agree totally with dragonfly. SLC has too many weapons for the Sec to cover. Newton is back and healthy and ready to get back on track. If SLC can keep #3 in check it could get ugly, just MHO

Irving Mac is like UCLA. Highly overrated. I saw them play against Allen and even though they won, it was more because Allen gave it to them than it was their play. Allen had a ton of turnovers which they should have capitalize on ad infinitum. Still, the game stayed close enough that Allen could have pulled it out in the final minute.
SLC will cake walk over these guys.

If SLC can keep #3 in check it could get ugly, just MHODid you see the screen pass the Newton caught against Richland? It was a short pass that he caught and then ran for 51 yards for the TD. His speed and running after the catch was incredible. He blew by everyone. That play was overlooked by most since the game was a blow-out but it left my mouth hanging open. Wow. That kid can run.
It is great to have him back.

IMAC has better athletes than Carroll. Offensively, #1, #3, and #8 are their main weapons. Their best players play both ways as their coach wants their best players on the field. #3 is a deep threat and will also be taking snaps at QB. Their only problem is that their quarterback led 6-5A in interceptions. He threw 5 or 6 against Grand Prairie I believe. Why? Because all he does is throw up the ball deep into coverage expecting one of his recievers to come down with it. If Mac's QB can be smarter, watch out, IMAC has the athletes to beat the Dragon Defense. Their running back is also good and very under rated. He will make plays when needed. Their defense is also very good, they have the best linebacker combo in the area as far as I am concerned. #32 is a force and #16 is just as good. And one of their defensive lineman, #50, is an animal but he tends to hustle TOO much and play action, etc, will kill him. IMAC can do it, they have the players, but can they execute and minimize their mistakes. They had too many this year which is why they only won games by a touchdown or less. They will make plays when needed though. Definatley NOT an opponent to underestimate.

A lot of teams who lost to IMAC this year can say that. We lost by 4, but they won because they made plays when the game was on the line. We should have won, but they stepped up when it mattered. That is their strength, they have playmakers when the game is on the line and will make those plays.

Depends on two things to determine a SLC win.
1. SLC might need a running game, if its not there, they might have trouble.
2. Is the SLC team that played Grapevine going to show up this week.
Also, I dont think IMAC is putting up that many points this season, but they are not allowing many either. They also got very close to beating Trinity.
If both teams play their A game SLC takes it by 14. If SLC plays a B game, and IMAC has an A game.??? Could be an upset. If SLC brings the A game, and IMAC brings the B game, SLC wins by 35

1. If Carroll does not run the ball that usually means that the pass is wide open. With Newton back the I do not think the runnning game will suffer and if for some reason Newton cannot go Riley will be playing runningback a lot more often because he is a dynamic player.
2. The Carroll team that played Grapevine won and put up over 500 yards of offense.

I said I would not respond to your childish post, but this one has good points. I did however want to point out that Newton was held to 10 yards before getting hurt, and I think he has trouble against good teams. I could be wrong. If the pass isnt wide open, which will happen in the playoffs, there needs to be a running game to re-open the pass game. Your right about Riley, but he cant win the game by himself. People get tired you know. And last, you can put up 1000 yards and still lose a game, it was what 28 to 23 against Grapevine? If it had been a good team playing SLC that day, like say anyone they face in the playoffs, it would have been a loss. Like I said, I think SLC will win this one, but a loss is always possible.

honestly im just going to sound like an ignorant SLC fan here, and im fine with it. SLC will blow this one out, the way they have all season, and the way they do in the early rounds of the playoffs. I'm sorry, but this one wont be close. predict the upsets all you want, you have been all season...
Ill be back saturday evening basking in the glory of another dragon victory

If Carroll had been playing a different team it probably would have been a bigger blowout even if that team was better than Grapevine. Carroll had trouble getting the ball in the end zone against Grapevine.

Well, having trouble getting the ball in the endzone is not a good thing, so your saying that if they were facing a better defense, that it would have been easier?

It may have been easier if Carroll was playing a team with a better defense. Look what they did to teams with better defenses that they have played this year. Those games were easier weren't they?

Mac defense has to put pressure on the Southlake QB to have any hope, he has set back there and eat his Hamburger all year, SL running game is questionable against good defense. IMac offense has to bring on the Emotion .

I watched Trinity / IMAC & did'nt see a running game from Mac, or a QB who could throw with accuracy, & Trinity was pretty weak in the secondary...they have a pretty salty defense, but I don't see them being able to contain Carroll. IMO, Carroll will swamp them offensively.

I dont guess so, otherwise they would have allowed less points. Maybe their redzone D was not as good. Point being that it was a close one, and they cant do have a game like that come playoff time (not getting it into the endzone). Personally, I dont think they will have a problem this week, but if they face Lufkin, it might be a different story.

you mean they can't play a game like they did against Grapevine because they are going to win. I mean that is what they did against Grapevine isn't it?

Grapevine scored 14 with their D...Carroll's D played them just fine...The Grapevine D played the game of the season for them.

They had a few games like that last year and won them all. We've had one this year and won it. I'm sure we'll have more games like the one against Grapevine and will hopefully win those too.
