Size rarely means much in hs - usually 300 pounds means fat and slow. Lufkin loves to play 300 pound linemen -- 240 pounds, mean and quick are the ones that scare you.

I Love big and slow...that means we win.....lol
everytime someone calls us out and says big and slow...we kill them with power and speed.
the best ever was 2003 Katy vs. S Clemens...when they called us out saying "big fat and slow"... our hawgs dominated the game. The highlight was Joseph Longacre 6'3-290 catching the DB(int) from behind, down the sideline when he thought he had a Td for sure....we werent so fat and slow after that.

Well he could certainly lose weight, however he's ALOT more athletic than his measurements would suggest. If u check out www.insidehighschoolfootball.com and check all the videos on Trinity hes #76 and can be often seen making blocks way down field.

You are right TrojanHorse. All of Trinity's linemen are seen downfield doing pancake blocks. Many times defensive backs are running away from them. This allows Nance and Handy more opportunities. Take note: the briefcase is full of unseen plays from Trinity. There are many many traditional Trinity plays that they have not had to use this year. Lots of fans have been asking where these plays have gone. I feel they are about to emerge again!!!

why did they not emerge against super power south grand prairie. maybe the players have not learned those plays because they are too busy rehearsing their dance

Always a remark there Dragonfan. These linemen are in terrific shape for their size. Someone made a remark not to long ago about them being out of shape. I say you go out there in the 4th quarter and Demitri run your way and see what kind of shape they are in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

where did I make a remark about the lineman being out of shape? I just doubt that Trinity has not opened up their full playbook yet.

that is true. Carroll never really passes the eye ball test while teams like Irving almost always do. I think Trinity passes both the eyeball and the performance test.

North Shore's starting guards weigh 360 and 340 pounds respectively. I'd say they've been going up against some decent size in practice all year. ;)
The match-up in the trenches for Shore-Pearland will be fun to see. Both well coached teams in that area.

I remember that play really well like it was yesterday in fact. And yes he did make the tackle way down field, but he didn't run him down from behind as you have said. Our kid was running in and out of traffic on that return and yes, the big man did eventually catch up to him to make the play. But he did not run him down on a straight line as you make it sound! I remember it because I was impressed that this big man did cover a hell of a lot of ground to do it!

the center and RG, are big, quick, explosive and dominant, don't let their weight fool you, even with their quick call offense, they don't get tired, and drive the D-line back on a regular basis...

Hey SV (assuming Smithson Valley) are you aware of SV's O line that is comming up next year? I watched the JV play a game a while back and they are bigger than the Varsity line. The JV also had a very good season this year. Its going to be interesting to see that big line with speedster Rios (5-8) behind it.
